밀링 공정설계의 특징형상 데이터 모델 (A feature data model in milling process planning)

  • A feature is well known as a medium to integrate CAD, CAPP and CAM systems. For a part drawing including both simple geometry and compound geometry, a process plan such as the selection of process, machine tool, cutting tool etc. normally needs simple geometry data and non-geometry data of the feature as the input. However, a extended process plan such as the generation of process sequence, operation sequence, jig & fixture, NC program etc. necessarily needs the compound geometry data as well as the simple geometry data and non-geometry data. In this paper, we propose a feature data model according to the result of analyzing necessary data, including the compound geometry data, the simple geometry data and the non-geometry data. Also, an example of the feature data model in milling process planning is described.

  • High Energy Milling (HEM) is applied for the grinding of cement and this can lead to substantial refinement $(<2{\mu}m)$ and mechanically activation of the powder particles. The present paper reviews the preliminary studies, explains the novel technique and suggests the route into commercial application. Particular attention is paid to wear results with an applied $Si_3N_4-grinding$ unit where no substantial wear was found after 4000 h of operation.

Contour machining error in NC milling process

  • The comprehensive system analysis for contour milling operation has performed in this study, which combined the each element with proper connectivity into closed loop system, and determined the system response by numerical simulation technique. The obtained simulated results were then compared with the experimental results from the practical points of view, and so forth, the governing equations were formulated into the estimation model, which predicted the total contour machining error within 25% accuracy. Through the procedural evaluation, it could ascertain the characteristics of generation mechan- ifs in circular contour machining error, and the weight of each factor.

화력발전소 매립 석탄재의 분쇄가 지오폴리머의 강도에 미치는 영향 (Grinding Effects of Coal-Fired Pond Ash on Compressive Strength of Geopolymers)

  • 화력발전소 바닥재는 입자크기의 범위가 넓고 미연탄소 함량이 높아 지오폴리머의 원료로 잘 사용되지 않는다. 지오폴리머의 원료로서 바닥재가 대부분인 매립 석탄재를 대량 재활용하기 위한 가공공정을 평가하기 위하여 로드밀과 유성볼밀로 분쇄하여 지오폴리머의 강도에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 기계적 분쇄가 바닥재의 비정질 함량 변화에 미치는 영향은 거의 없었다. 이는 석탄재의 주요 결정질 상인 뮬라이트가 침상으로 존재하는데, 침상의 뮬라이트는 높은 강도와 인성을 갖기 때문에 비정질화되기 어렵기 때문으로 판단된다. 그러나 분쇄 효과는 입자크기를 감소시켰으며 매립 석탄재 입자의 크기 분포를 보다 균일하게 하여 알칼리와의 반응성을 증가시켰다. 로드밀은 상대적으로 입자크기의 범위를 좁게 만들었지만 입자크기 감소효과는 적었다. 그럼에도 불구하고 로드밀의 분쇄는 최대 약 37%의 압축강도를 증가시켰으며, 이는 유성볼밀의 효과와 동일하였다. 로드밀 분쇄는 매립 석탄재의 반응성을 증가시켜 지오폴리머의 원료로 대량 재활용하기에 적합한 공정이다.

  • Rise in cutting force causes tool damage and worsens product quality resulting in machining accuracy deterioration. Especially, fragile material cutting brings about breakage of material and worsens product surface quality. In this study, we trace the locus of cutting force and examine the machined surface corresponding to the cutting force loci. and build up a monitoring system for deciding normal operation or not of cutting process.

  • Rotational-free-surface (RFS) is a special type of free surface whose two boundaries coincide. For NC machining of PFS, a rotational axis as well as three Cartesian axes are required. In this paper, we develop a four-axis CAM module consisting of: a) Geometric modeling of RFS, b) CL-data generation, and c) Graphic simulation of machining operation. To test the validity and effectiveness of the developed module, several test cuts are made with Bridgeport CNC milling machine and compared with the graphic simulation.

  • In this paper, the BTR (Behind the Tape Reader) type communication unit which interfaces the IEBM PC/XT to the FANUC 5M NC controller is developed, making it possible to send NC part program from the memory of IBM PC/XT to the NC controller. As an example of integration of CAD and CAM technologies, the machining of a two dimensional hand-written free line which incorporates the processes of geometric data acquisition using a digitizing tablet, automatic part programming and control of NC milling machine operation is demonstrated.

NiCuZn Ferrite의 제조공정 제어 (제1보) - 습식 볼밀링에 의한 다성분 원료의 혼합 및 분쇄 공정의 고찰 (The Processing control of NiCuZn Ferrite (I) - Mixing and Size Reduction of Raw Materials by Wet Ball Milling.)

  • 원료$(NiO,\;CuO,\;ZnO,\;Fe_{2}O_{3})$를 사용하여 원하는 조성의 NiCuZn Ferrite 를 제조하기 위해서는, 가능한 고농도 원료슬러리를 균일 혼합 및 효율적인 분쇄를 하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 습식 볼밀을 사용하여 혼합원료 입자들의 분산상태를 유지하며, 최적의 혼합 및 분쇄조건을 확립하고자 한다. 먼저 혼합원료의 분산특성을 조사한 후, 볼밀링시 사용하고자 하는 pH 영역을 결정하고, 이 때 사용 가능한 분산제를 선택하였다. 또한, 분산제의 양, 분쇄시간, 볼밀링 가능한 슬러리의 농도 등을 조사하였다. 혼합원료의 분산거동을 조사한 결과, 혼합 및 분쇄할 때 음이온성 고분자전해질(poly acrylic ammonium salt)이 적절한 분산제였으며, 분산제 양은 0.7 wt%가 적절하였다. 이 때 최적 볼밀링 시간은 18시간이었으며 볼밀링이 가능한 슬러리의 최대 농도는 약 55 vol%이었다. 혼합원료 30 vol%슬러리에 음이온성 고분자전해질을 0.7 wt% 첨가하여 18시간 볼밀링한 결과, 혼합원료의 평균입자경은 약 $0.54\mu\textrm{m}$, 비표면적은 $12.92m^{2}/cc$이었다. 이를 $700^{\circ}C$에서 3시간 동안 하소하면 단일상의 NiCuZn Ferrite가 얻어졌다.

Turning STEP-NC(ISO14649) 정보를 기반한 접촉식 OMM(On-Machine Measurement) Inspection planning에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Tactile Inspection Planning for OMM based on Turning STEP-NC information (ISO14649))

  • ISO 14649 (data model for STEP-NC) is a new interface scheme or language for CAD-CAM-CNC chain under established by ISO TC184 SCI. Up to this point, the new language is mainly made for milling and turning, and other processes such as EDM will be completed in the future. Upon completion, it will be used as the international standard language for e-manufacturing paradigm by replacing the old machine-level language, so called M&G code used since 1950's. With the rich information contents included in the new language, various intelligent functions can be made by the CNC as the CNC knows what-to-make and how-to-make. In particular, On-Machine Inspection required for quality assurance in the machine level, can be done based on the information of feature­based tolerance graph. Previously, On-Machine inspection has been investigated mainly for milling operation, and only a few researches were made for turning operation without addressing the data model. In this thesis, we present a feature-based on-machine inspection process by the 4 Tasks: 1) proposing a new schema for STEP-NC data model, 2) converting the conventional tolerance scheme into that of STEP-NC, 3) modifying the tolerance graph such that the tolerance can be effectively measured by the touch probe on the machine, and 4) generating collision-free tool path for actual measurement. Task 1 is required for the incorporation of the presented method in the ISO 14649, whose current version does not much include the detailed schema for tolerance. Based on the presented schema, the tolerance represented in the conventional drafting can be changed to that of STEP-NC (Task 2). A special emphasis was given to Task 3 to make the represented tolerance accurately measurable by the touch probe on the machine even if the part setup is changed. Finally, Task 4 is converting the result of Task into the motion of touch probe. The developed schema and algorithms were illustrated by several examples including that of ISO 14649 Part 12.
