전자전장비 개발에서 종합군수지원 요구사항의 효과적 관리를 위한 계층적 모델 (On a Hierarchical Model for Effectively Managing ILS Requirements of Electronic Warfare Equipments)

  • Requirements management is one of the most essential activities of systems engineering in developing successful weapon systems. Particularly it is very important to consistently manage the traceability among the user requirements, the system requirements, the development specifications and the testing plans throughout the entire life cycle of the weapon system. However, the most part of requirements-related activities has centered around the functional and performance requirements but the integrated logistics support(ILS) requirement has not properly been managed. In this regard, a special attention is needed to develop and manage the ILS requirements. To do so, the ANSI/EIA-632 standard can be referred as a starting point since the ILS requirements of the weapon system under development are specified by the enabling products whereas the functional and performance requirements are covered by the end product requirements. Specifically, we first review and model several cases of previous weapon systems development, which reveals the problem of interest. Then, under the framework of ANSI/EIA-632, we study a hierarchical model for effectively managing ILS requirements by analyzing the features of ILS requirements. Finally, the value of the proposed model is discussed through the case study of electronic warfare equipment.

  • 연구목적: 지난 10년간 말리 내전이 어떻게 진행되었는지 분석해봄으로써 사헬 지대 내 테러집단의 활동 양상을 예측해보고 시사점을 도출해보고자 한다. 연구방법:기존 사헬 지대와 테러 양상에 대한 연구와 더불어 프랑스어권 언론을 통해 진행 경과를 파악했다. 연구결과: 민족 갈등의 심화, 이슬람 극단주의의 확산 그리고 군사 쿠데타의 지속성 등 복합적인 요인으로 인해 말리는 내전이 지속되고 있음을 알수 있다. 결론: 프랑스의 철수와 러시아의 개입 등 국제사회의 영향력이 약화되고 있는 현 상황에서 말리 내전이 장기화될 수 있음을 시사한다.

친일 청산에 대한 미군정기 <동아일보>와 <조선일보>의 보도 태도 (The Coverage on the Settlement of pro-Japanese Koreans by Dongailbo and Chosunilbo during the U.S. Military Government Period)

  • 이 연구는 미군정기 <동아일보>와 <조선일보>의 친일 청산 문제에 대한 보도 태도를 분석하였다. 친일 관련 6개의 키워드 검색을 통해 총 266건의 기사를 대상으로 전반적 보도 현황을 양적 분석하였다. 키워드로는 친일이 90건으로 가장 많았으며 다음으로 민족반역, 간상배, 일제잔재, 부일협력, 반민족의 순이었다. 두 신문은 관련 기사를 대부분 비중있게 다루어 전체의 43.2%가 면톱이나 부톱으로 보도되었다. <동아일보>의 정보원은 우익과 군정 당국에 치우쳤으나 <조선일보>는 중도와 좌익의 정보원도 사용하였다. 이 시기에 친일 문제가 쟁점이 되었던 주요 사건을 중심으로 질적 분석하여 두 신문 논조의 특성을 분석한 결과 두 신문은 친일 청산 문제에 대해 전반적으로 소극적이었다. 과거의 친일도 중요하지만 현재의 반민족이 더 중대하며 친일을 청산하려면 그 대상 설정도 매우 어렵고 인재의 공백이 우려되어 당면 목표인 독립 국가 건설에 장애가 될 터이니 정부 수립 이후로 연기하자는 것이 두 신문의 주된 논지였다. 신탁 통치나 미소 공위 등 주요 사안에서 <동아일보>는 우익의 입장을 전적으로 대변하였으며 반면 <조선일보>는 더 중립적인 태도를 보였다.

Cinnamaldehyde Derivatives Inhibit Coxsackievirus B3-Induced Viral Myocarditis

  • The chemical property of cinnamaldehyde is unstable in vivo, although early experiments have shown its obvious therapeutic effects on viral myocarditis (VMC). To overcome this problem, we used cinnamaldehyde as a leading compound to synthesize derivatives. Five derivatives of cinnamaldehyde were synthesized: 4-methylcinnamaldehyde (1), 4-chlorocinnamaldehyde (2), 4-methoxycinnamaldehyde (3), ${\alpha}$-bromo-4-methylcinnamaldehyde (4), and ${\alpha}$-bromo-4-chlorocinnamaldehyde (5). Neonatal rat cardiomyocytes and HeLa cells infected by coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3) were used to evaluate their antiviral and cytotoxic effects. In vivo BALB/c mice were infected with CVB3 for establishing VMC models. Among the derivatives, compound 4 and 5 inhibited the CVB3 in HeLa cells with the half-maximal inhibitory concentrations values of $11.38{\pm}2.22{\mu}M$ and $2.12{\pm}0.37{\mu}M$, respectively. The 50% toxic concentrations of compound 4 and 5-treated cells were 39-fold and 87-fold higher than in the cinnamaldehyde group. Compound 4 and 5 effectively reduced the viral titers and cardiac pathological changes in a dose-dependent manner. In addition, compound 4 and 5 significantly inhibited the secretion, mRNA and protein expressions of inflammatory cytokines TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-$1{\beta}$ and IL-6 in CVB3-infected cardiomyocytes, indicating that brominated cinnamaldehyde not only improved the anti-vital activities for VMC, but also had potent anti-inflammatory effects in cardiomyocytes induced by CVB3.

  • After defeat in World War II, Japan's Peace Constitution committed the country to forego the acquisition of offensive military capabilities. However, in the midst of the post-cold war period, Japan began to change its security posture in line with the so-called 'normal state theory', which called for a more robust defense posture and expanded security activities. The second Abe administration promoted these security policies by issuing a National Security Strategy as well as a new National Defense Program Outline(NDPO) in 2013 and by establishing new security institutions such as the National Security Council. The Abe administration also adopted the new concept of a 'Unified Mobile Defense Force' in the 2013 which replaced the 'Dynamic Defense Force' as a new criteria for the Self-Defense Force's acquisition of military capabilities. In this new concept of military capabilities, the Ground Self-Defense Force is planning to replace existing divisions with mobile divisions and to form 'Amphibious Rapid Deployment Bridge' for the first time in 2018, which has long been taboo in Japan. Japan has experience a Marine Corps in the past. Likewise, an offensive changes in the military strategy can change the spectrum of strategy and 'Amphibious Rapid Deployment Bridge' plays a big role in this. Furthermore, Japan is increasing the Coast Guard's budget and capabilities in preparation for contingencies around the Senkaku islands (called the Diaoyu in Chinese). The South Korea navy should utilize Japan's changing security posture to deter immediate threat such as North Korea's military provocations and potential enemy threat such as China, Japan, Russia.

일부 군인들의 입대 전후 간식섭취횟수 변화에 따른 구강건강관리실태와 구강건강증진행위에 대한 조사 (A Study of Oral Health Status and Oral Health Promotion Activities according to the Snack Intake Frequency Change of Some Soldiers Compare to before and after Military Service)

  • 이번 연구는 경기도 파주시 육군부대의 병사들을 대상으로 군 입대 전후의 간식섭취횟수의 변화를 알아보고 구강건강관리실태와 관련성을 비교 분석할 목적으로 318명을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문지를 작성하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 병사들은 입대 전보다 입대 후 간식섭취횟수의 변화가 많은 것으로 나타났고, 간식섭취횟수의 변화와 흡연 여부와의 관계에서 흡연자와 비흡연자 모두 입대 후 간식섭취횟수가 늘었다. 구강건강관리실태에서 입대 후 간식섭취횟수가 많은 자가 입대 전 간식섭취횟수가 많은 자에 비해 구강건강 상태가 건강하지 않은 것으로 조사되었고, 충치경험은 두군 모두 많았다. 연구대상자들은 치과 정기검진에 대한 실천성은 낮은 것으로 조사되었지만 치아건강에 대한 관심은 높은 것으로 나타났다. 당 성분이 함유된 음식물에 대한 자제력과 영양섭취에 대한 실천성은 나이가 많을수록 실천성이 높은 것으로 나타났고 식후 칫솔질에 대한 실천성은 이등병이 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났으나 불소가 배합된 치약사용과 정기적 스케일링 및 정기적 구강검진, 치실 사용의 실천성은 이등병이 가장 높게 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과를 볼 때, 병사들은 입대 전에 비하여 입대 후 간식섭취횟수가 늘어났으며 구강건강을 위한 행위에 대한 실천성은 낮은 것으로 조사되었다. 그리고 이번 연구에서 병사들의 구강보건교육의 중요한 시기는 이등병이라는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 군 특성에 맞는 구강보건교육에 대한 내용과 시기가 고려된 프로그램이 개발, 운영되어야 할 것으로 생각된다.

군수품 제품확인감사 기준정립을 위한 제언 (Suggestion for Enhancement of Product Examination Government Quality Assurance Activity)

  • Purpose : Recently, many quality issues are aroused in military forces, such as failures in K-series weapons, combat uniforms' defects and 40mm ammunition explosion accident. To address these problems, Defense Agency for Technology and Quality(DTaQ) introduced new systems such as Manufacturing Readiness Assessment(MRA), Test Report Information System(TRIS) and so on. However, these activities require the human and time resources which cannot be increased in short period. In this paper, we suggest more practical and efficient product examination method. Methods : The most popular and widely used government's quality assurance technique is a sampling method to examine the product. In this research, we first reviewed the DTaQ's quality assurance regulation, then identified several possible problems and finally suggested more efficient and effective sampling plans. Results : We have suggested new sampling framework and evaluated its performance on two military supplies by comparing with other sampling method, and observed that the number of tested samples can be substantially reduced. Therefore, required quality assurance time can be saved. Conclusion : In this paper, we first reviewed the product examination frameworks of DTaQ, PPQMS and DCMA. Then we identified several possible problems which can cause the loss of objectivity and time. To handle these problems, we suggested the new product examination framework and tested the framework to verify the performance.

Self-Identification of Boundary's Nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks

  • The wireless sensor networks (WSNs) became a very essential tool in borders and military zones surveillance, for this reason specific applications have been developed. Surveillance is usually accomplished through the deployment of nodes in a random way providing heterogeneous topologies. However, the process of the identification of all nodes located on the network's outer edge is very long and energy-consuming. Before any other activities on such sensitive networks, we have to identify the border nodes by means of specific algorithms. In this paper, a solution is proposed to solve the problem of energy and time consumption in detecting border nodes by means of node selection. This mechanism is designed with several starter nodes in order to reduce time, number of exchanged packets and then, energy consumption. This method consists of three phases: the first one is to detect triggers which serve to start the mechanism of boundary nodes (BNs) detection, the second is to detect the whole border, and the third is to exclude each BN from the routing tables of all its neighbors so that it cannot be used for the routing.

  • Purpose: This study is in order to secure high quality of military supplies, it is important to secure design quality in the development phase. I will review how to establish a quality assurance system in the development phase based on the author's seminar presentation contents and application example of Hanwha Systems Co., Ltd. Methods: To guarantee design quality in the development phase, in 2002, quality assurance system that is adequate for SQA(Software Quality Assurance)'s requirements of CMM(Capability Maturity Model) was conduct. In 2009, based on the CMMI(Capability Maturity Model Integration) Level 5, there has been continuous and reenforced quality assurance activities. Results: By suggesting the construction and a case study on application of R&D quality assurance, it would be helpful for companies aiming to construct or enhance quality assurance system. Conclusion: To secure high quality for military supplies, a development QA system should be established to secure quality in the development phase. In addition, Total life cycle QA system for development, mass production and operation phase should be reestablished.

  • 우리 사회는 정보통신기술 발달로 온라인 가상세계와 현실 세계가 융합하여 새로운 세계가 창조되는 메타버스로 인해 새로운 전환기에 접어들고 있다. 엔터테인먼트 분야에 치중되었던 메타버스의 영역은 친교 활동, 교육, 상거래 등 일상의 영역으로 점차 확대되고 있으며, 전투원에게 실제 전장과 같은 가상훈련 환경을 제공하고, 사격과 기동, 통신, 방호 등 군사분야에서 활용성도 커지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 메타버스의 개념과 핵심유형, 발전 동향과 군사분야에서의 활용성에 대해 논하고자 한다.
