  • Transforming growth factor (TGF)-${\beta}$, a hormonally active polypeptide found in normal and transformed tissue, is a potent regulator of cell growth and differentiation. In this study, we examined the effect of TGF-${\beta}$ on invasion and motility of MCF10A human breast epithelial cells. TGF-${\beta}$ induced migration and invasive phenotype of the parental MCF10A cells in a dose-dependent manner.(omitted)

In this study, we examined the effect of TGF-$\beta$ on invasion and motility of MCF10A human breast epithelial cells. TGF-$\beta$-induced migration and invasive phenotype of the parental MCF10A cells in a dose-dependent manner. Activity of MMP-2 promoter was increased by TGF-b, suggesting that the TGF-$\beta$-induced invasive phenotype may possibly be mediated by MMP-2 rather than MMP-9. (omitted)

  • This study attempts to provide the main reasons and decision-making processes for marriage migration from a Vietnamese' perspective. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted in Vietnam. Interviewees are those who got married to foreigners but are waiting for visas and parents whose daughters are marriage migrants. According to 23 interviewees, the main reasons of marriage migration are as follows: individual aspiration, sacrifice for others, and the circumstantial effects or love. Individual aspiration, in particular, leads to an active pursuit of international marriage. Parental involvement in the decision-making process is rarely found. Decision seems to be wholly made by the female migrant herself based on an individualistic orientation.

  • Background The umbilicus makes an important contribution to the natural appearance of the abdomen. To date, studies on its position in Korean women are lacking, and no standards have been established. The purpose of this study was to investigate the position of umbilicus in Korean women and to review changes in its position after ipsilateral pedicled rectus abdominis musculocutaneous (IP-RAM) flap. Methods This research consisted of two studies. In first study, 100 females who visited the emergency department with gastroenteritis between 2007 and 2011 were included. In second study, 40 women who underwent IP-RAM flap in the same period were included. Using abdominal computed tomography, we measured the distance between xiphoid process and umbilicus, represented by value a, and the distance between umbilicus and symphysis pubis, represented by value b. Thus, the location of the umbilicus was represented by the ratio a/b. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation test and paired t-test. Results In study 1, the mean value of a/b was 1.07. Pearson correlation test revealed a significant correlation between age and a/b. In study 2, the mean value of a/b was 1.16 in preoperative measurements and 1.01 in postoperative measurements. The paired t-test showed a significant difference between preoperative and postoperative measurements, indicating cephalic migration of the umbilicus after surgery. Conclusions The natural position of the umbilicus showed caudal migration with aging. Additionally, in a comparison of preoperative and postoperative measurements in patients who underwent IP-RAM flap, cephalic migration of the umbilicus was observed after surgery.

  • Security threats such as unauthorized access and data tampering can occur during the virtual machine migration process. In particular, since virtual machine migration requires users to transfer important data and infrastructure information, it is relatively risky to other cloud services in case of security threats. For this reason, there is a need for dynamic authentication for virtual machine migration. Therefore, this paper proposes an OTP-based dynamic authentication framework to improve the vulnerabilities of the existing authentication mechanism for virtual machine migration. It consists of a virtual machine migration request module and an operation module. The request module includes an OTP-based user authentication process and a migration request process to a data center when a user requests a migration. The operation module includes a secure key exchange process between the data centers using SPEKE and a TOTP-based mutual authentication process between the data center and the physical server.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the life satisfaction of marriage immigrant women in an effort to provide some information on how to offer social support for marriage immigrant women to lead a more satisfaction life. The overall life satisfaction level of the marriage immigrant women was above the average(a mean of 3.40). By age, the women whose husbands were younger were more satisfied. The higher the husband's education, religion appeared higher in cases where the wife is religion, the women who resided in our country for less than five years expressed more life satisfaction. The husband was found in the case of highly professional and white-collar job, the higher the monthly income of the household and when they resided in their own houses. In this context, integrated in terms of international community members to migrant women requires systematic support policies moves forward to global countries.
