$BaTiO_3$ 세라믹스에 있어서 미세구조와 PTCR특성에 미치는 $Sb_2O_3$의 첨가효과 (Effect of $Sb_2O_3$ Addition on the Microstructure and the PTCR Characteristic in $BaTiO_3$ Ceramics)

  • Effect of Sb2O3 addition on microstructure and the PTCR characteristic was investigated. The range of the Sb2O3 content and the sintering temperature showing semiconducting and PTCR characteristic, were 0.05~0.125 mol%, and over 130$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. We found that PTCR characteristic, that is, room-temperature resistivity and specific resistivity ration were dependent on the microstructure.

  • AIP(arc ion plating)방법과 마그네슘 스퍼터링(DC reactive magnetron sputtering) 방법을 결합시킨 하이브리드 코팅 시스템으로 Cr-Si-N 코팅막을 합성하였다. 고분해능 TEM 및 SEM 분석들로부터 negative bias voltage에 따른 미세구조의 영향을 나타내었다. negative bias voltage의 증가에 따라 columnar microstructure가 amorphous microstructure로 변화하였다. bias voltage effect에 의해 Cr-Si-N 코팅막내 입자의 크기가 미세해지고 나노 복합체를 잘 형성하였다.

  • Microstructure and mechanical properties were examined on rapidly solidified Al-8wt%Fe alloy. High temperature strength test was also undertaken, and it is shown that the refinement in microstructure resulting from extremely rapid cooling rates gives rise to improved high temperature strength, but the elongation to fracture of this material decreases with increasing temperature, particularly in the temperature range up to 30$0^{\circ}C$. Specimens heat-treated for 100 hrs were analyzed with TEM micrographs to understand the thermal stability of this material.

  • Interactions between PET POY and solvents were estimated by the changes in microstructure and surface morphology. Changes in microstructure and surface morphology by the solvent treatments were: an increase in crystallite size, a decrease in interplanar spacing, a change in degree of orientation of crystalline region, a change in surface characteristics.

  • The Pusan Clay is analyzed hereafter from a point of view of mineralogy and microstructure. Results indicate that the Pusan Clay is basically illitic in nature and that the soil microstructure reveals some characteristics which could be responsible for its brittle behavior as observed from sample disturbance. The overall analysis would tend to consider that the Pusan Clay profile analyzed here shows mechanical properties similar to well structured soils or so-called cemented soils.

  • Computer simulation of microstructure evolution during hot forging process is of great interest in recent years. Recrystallization model and grain growth model which use a phenomenological approach were summarized. For the waspaloy, upsetting process and cogging process were simulated using $DEFORM^{TM}$ and the change in grain size were investigated in each deformation procedure.

  • We successfully developed Al-Si-Transition Metal (TM) -Rare Earth (RE) Powder Metallurgy (P/M) alloy with fine microstructure, which has high strength at high temperature. This material was compacted rapidly solidified powder and directly consolidated by hot extruding or forging. Before consolidating, rapid heating was performed on powder compaction in order to keep the fine microstructure in powder state. We have also investigated the processing conditions of this new alloy by computing simulations and experiments.

  • In this paper, the anode for molten carbonate fuel cell have been prepared by doctor blade method and microstructure, pore distribution, sintering test of the electrode were investigated. Component analysis were done by Scanning Electron Micrograph, porosimeter and sintering test apparatus. As a result, median pore size was 11.mu.m order at the major specimen and porosity was about 70%. And thickness loss of the electrode was 1.5% at Ni-10Co anode after sintering test.

  • The aim of this work is to compare the microstructure, the texture, of an AZ31 Mg alloy processed via cold rolling process. Initial AZ31 Mg alloy sheet samples with strong {0002} texture were cut along the angles of 12.5 and 25 degrees to normal direction (ND). These specimens were rolled in room temperature condition. The microstructure was characterized by optical microscopy and the texture was measured by X-ray diffraction.
