  • This paper describes a multi-computer system developed for CIM(Computer Integrated Manufacturing) system, which combines single board computers and personal computers by using RS422/485 communication and LAN. The system adopts a concept of hot run back up system based on dual CUP system of host and supervisor structure. The dual CPU system and the single board computer are respectively developed using 32 bits microcomputer and 16 bits microprocessor. 8097BH. The multi communication between two types of system is done by using RS 422/485, and also data logging computers are linked with LAN.

  • An electrical power generation system driven by main engine shaft, briefly SG system for middle or small size fishing boat is studied experimently. In the SG system, power transmission is performed by a variable displacement hydraulic pump driven by the main engine and a constant displacement hydraulic motor. It was verified that the SG system enabled the generation of electrical power with constant frequency regardless main engine speed. In the SG system, setting reference frequency, sensing generator output frequency and setting controller parameters are performed by performed by programming in a microcomputer, so a countermeasure for physical situations of control object is very easy. Futhermore, the SG system has following features; low initial installation cost, wide freedom of installation in engine room, advantage of application in existing ships, especially fishing boat with hydraulic fishing equipments.

  • In this study, a biological reaction and measurement control system was developed to rapidly measure the insecticide imidacloprid residues in agricultural products. The biological reaction part of the system was designed to include micro-pumps and valves for fluid transport, and a polystyrene covet as a reaction chamber. The measurement control part of the system consisted of a photodiode with a light-emitting diode for optical density measurement, and a control microcomputer to implement assay. Signal output was read as the rate of change in optical density at 645 nm. The sensitivity of the system was 2.2 ng/mL ($IC_50$). The system could execute a measurement cycle in about 19 minutes. Research will be continued to develop an automatic sampler fur imidacloprid residues from agricultural products.

  • In Korea, fruit grading has been mainly done manually, and manual grading depends on human sense. Thus it is subjected to human error and is not always as consistent as would be desired. Therefore, a study on the development of fruit grader was initiated to improve the consistency of fruit grading. The sensitivity for fruit weight of the conventional spring type weight grader has a tendency to decrease by physical characteristics of spring which is used as a weight sensing unit. This study was carried out to develop weight measuring device for establishing the base of weight sensing unit of electronic weight grader. This device consists of a weight sensor using load cell, data acquisition system, and a microcomputer containing program to calculate fruit weight. The weight measuring device using load cell was developed to increase sensitivity of fruit weight. The result of this study showed that the weight sensing unit of electronic weight grader contributed to the improvement of performance of weight measuring device.

  • These days, the fuzzy logic or the fuzzy set theory has received attention from a number of researchers in the area of industrial application. Moreover, the fuzzy logic control has been successfully applied to a large numbers of control problems where the conventional control methods had failed. Using this control theory we designed a climate controller for an automotive climate control system whose mathematical model is difficult. This paper describes an automotive climate control where the fuzzy control has been used to stabilize parameter uncertainties and disturbance effects. To show the validity and effectiveness of the proposed control method, the fuzzy logic controller was implemented with a philips 80C552 microcomputer chip and tested in an actual vehicle. From the experimental results, it could be conduced that the proposed controller is superior to conventional controllers in both control performance and thermal comfort. The climate control system in cars is difficult to model mathematically so we tested a fuzzy logic control system which promised better results.

  • A dynamometer was designed and constructed to measure three directional forces and moments of pull type implement with eliminating the interference between the forces. The dynamometer consists of a linear motion bearing, self-aligning bearings, universal joints, and cantilevers where strain gages were attached. A data acuquisition system was developed to collect data and to analyze them. The data acuquisition system consists of the dynamometer, a potentiometer to measure the implement depth, strain amplifiers, a A/D converter, and an IBM-AT compatible microcomputer. Program, written in C language, was developed to read data from tranducers with given interval, to calculate forces and moments, to display them on screen, and to store them on disk. The calibration results showed that cantilevers had good linearity and there was no interference among directional forces. When applied loads were reduced with constant rate, hysteresis was appeared on the dynamometer. It might to be reduced by using ball bearings instead of self-aligning bearings.

  • A mechanical-hydraulic hitch control system has been adapted to most agricultural tractors. But it has various defects due to friction, inertia and hysteresis. Recently a number of electronic-hydraulic hitch control systems have been developed in several countries to improve control performance of the agricultural tractors equipped with a mechanical-hydraulic hitch control system. This study was conducted to develop a new electronic-hydraulic hitch control system using an electro-hydraulic servo valve instead of an on-off valve and to carry out computer simulation of the system. According to the result of computer simulation, the control system showed the best performance when the proportional constants were 9 and 4 for position and draft control respectively. The step and frequency responses were improved as flow rate increased.

  • In this paper, a mobile robot is designed for the blind guidance. This system is composed of an Ultrasonic Ranging Vnit, PWM Vnit, Optical Encoder Vnit. Specilly we adapted Distance Comparison Measurement Method (DCMM) in order to compensate for the error resulted from atmospheric conditions, and PWM unit for the vehicle control and Optical encoder unit for the correct locomotion control. This system is processed, using MCS-85 microcomputer, much of information on surrounding conduitions in real time. We rotated ultrasonic sensor for many sifted data acquisition and used tone generator for the Man-Machine Communication. As a result, the measurement error of the distance is about 1cm, the distance measurement could be detected 0.2m to 6m. The locomotion speed is 0.4m/sec and we examined its practical use.

  • This study describes the ambulatory ECG monitoring system for the remote autom atic diagnosis. System: tlardware is based on one chip microcomputer(80c31) and its peripherals which consists of A/D, EPROM, RAM, LCD display and two preamplifiers, Power circuits, control logic circuits. A/D converted data were differentiated and low pass filtered. The detection of QRS complex and R point were accomplished by software algorithm based on adaptive threshold computed on low pass fi:leered signal. Rhythm analysis is performed by RR interval and average RR interval. The performance of QRS detection algorithm is evaluated by using MIT/BIH data base. Using this system, the trends of the arrythmia during the long term could be saved and displayed.

  • This paper represents a real time algorithm which improves the some drawbacks in the past methods for detection of the QRS conplexes of ECG signals. In the conventional method we can't detect QRS complex and QRS duration more correctly in case of (1) the contaminated ECG with 60Hz noise, muscle noise. (2) the movement of the baseline for a QRS complex. (3) being abnormal QRS complex with prolonging QRS. Therefore, we have proposed a new algorithm which can detect accurate QRS complex detection in case of the contaminated ECG with 60Hz noise, muscle noise, and movement of baseline for QRS complex. Moreover, in case of prolonging QRS we accomplished to detect not only QRS complex but also a single pulse that has a width proportional to QRS duration. This algorithm which is proposed in our paper in our paper in programmed with 6502 assembly language for real time ECG signal processing.
