탄성표면파 듀플렉서용 마이크로 스트립라인 집중소자 해석 및 실험 (Analysis and Experiment of Micro-strip Line Lumped Elements for SAW Duplexers)

  • In this study, we analyzed and experimented micro-strip line inductors and capacitors for a SAW duplexer, an important devise for mobile communication. For SAW duplexers, micro-strip line lumped elements must have small impedance values, below several tens of nH or several tens of pF, and a small area pattern. In this study, we performed theoretical analysis of flat line type, meander line type, and spiral line type inductors and interdigital capacitors on a LiTaO$_3$ Piezo-crystal. We proposed a measurement method to evaluate small values of lumped elements accurately with network analyzer. In experiments, we confirmed validity of the theoretical analysis method through fabrication and characterization of micro-strip line lumped elements. The analysis method in this paper can be applied to SAW duplexers well as other microwave devices.

  • Nanometer-sized structures are being applied to many devices including micro/nano electronics, optoelectronics, quantum devices, MEMS/NEMS, biosensors, etc. Especially, the thin film with submicron thickness is a basic structure for fabricating these devices, but its mechanical behaviors are not well understood. The mechanical properties of the thin film are different from those of the bulk structure and are difficult to measure because of its handling inconvenience. Several techniques have been applied to mechanical characterization of the thin film, such as nanoindentation test, micro/nano tensile test, strip bending test, etc. In this study, we focus on the strip bending test because of its high accuracy and moderate specimen preparation efforts, and measure Au thin film, which is a very popular material in micro/nano electronic devices. Au film is deposited on Si substrate by evaporation process, of which thickness is 100nm. Using the strip bending test, we obtain elastic modulus, yield and ultimate tensile strength, and residual stress of Au thin film.

원형편파 마이크로 스트립 GPS 안테나의 연구 (Study on Circularly Polarized Micro-strip GPS Antenna)

  • 본 논문에서는 GPS 대역의 원형편파 마이크로 스트립 안테나를 연구하였다. 설계된 안테나는 HFSS으로 설계 및 최적화한 후 corner truncated 방식을 사용하여 편파를 구현하였고, 패치사이즈, corner truncated, 급전위치 등 세 가지 변수를 이용하여 안테나를 제작하여 특성을 분석하였다. 제작된 GPS안테나는 변수를 조정하여 원하는 대역의 1.575GHz, -34.50dB의 반사손실을 갖는 GPS안테나를 제작할 수 중심주파수와 -34.50dB의 반사손실 특성을 보였다.

  • This paper investigated that resonant frequencies of micro strip patch antenna were agile when piezoelectric materials were used as the antenna substrates. The resonant frequencies of the micro strip antenna using the piezoelectric substrate. The micro strip patch antenna made of Quartz substrate was designed and fabricated by Ensemble v 7.0 simulator.   • Commonly used SAW duplexers have a difficulty on manufacture so that a transmission line is printed on the package or an LTCC multi-layer is needed because a quarter-wave transmission line which is a kind of an isolation network is applied to the SAW duplexers. In this study, new structures of one chip type SAW duplexers are proposed. In the proposed structure, Tx and Rx SAW ladder filters and isolation networks are located on a single 36LiTaO$_3$ piezoelectric substrate. The manufacture process is very simple than commonly used product. It is possible to improve tile performance by means of optimizing the micro-strip line lumped elements. It is easy to integrate and modulate with other surrounding components. The optimal design techniques can be applied to other kind of multi-port devices.

Roughness and micro pit defects on surface of SUS 430 stainless steel strip in cold rolling process

  • Experiment on roughness and micro pit defects of SUS 430 ferrite stainless steel was investigated in laboratory. The relation between roughness and glossiness with reduction in height, roll surface roughness, emulsion parameters was analyzed. The surface morphology of micro pit defects was observed by SEM, and the effects of micro pit defects on rolling reduction, roll surface roughness, emulsion parameters, lubrication oil in deformation zone and work roll diameter were discussed. With the increasing of reduction ratio strip surface roughness Ra(s), Rp(s) and Rv(s) were decreasing along rolling and width direction, the drop value in rolling direction was faster than that in width direction. The roughness and glossiness were obtained under emulsion concentration 3% and 6%, temperature $55^{\circ}C$ and $63^{\circ}C$, roll surface roughness $Ra(r)=0.5{\mu}m$, $Ra(r)=0.7{\mu}m$ and $Ra(r)=1.0{\mu}m$. The glossiness was declined rapidly when the micro defects ratio was above 23%. With the pass number increasing, the micro pit defects were reduced, uneven peak was decreased and gently along rolling direction. The micro pit defects were increased with the roll surface roughness increase. The defects ratio was declined with larger gradient at pass number 1 to 3, but gentle slope at pass number 4 to 5. When work roll diameter was small, bite angle was increasing, lubrication oil in micro pit of deformation zone was decreased, micro defects were decreased, and glossiness value on the surface of strip was increased.

오프셋 스트립 휜을 가지는 리큐퍼레이터의 내부 형상 최적화 (Optimization for the Internal Structure of a Recuperator with Offset Strip Fins)

  • In the present study, a recuperator is suggested to improve the thermal efficiency of a micro gas turbine. Primary design parameters of the recuperator are determined from the ideal cycle analysis. The counter flow plate-fin heat exchanger with offset strip fins is chosen as the type of the recuperator. In order to satisfy the design constraints which are the minimum effectiveness and the maximum pressure drop, the optimization for the internal structure of the recuperator is performed with varying the fin spacing and the fin height of offset strip fins. Also the effects of the thermal conductivity of fins and separation plates and the longitudinal heat conduction on the thermal performance of the recuperator are investigated.

  • In this study, thermal performance of recuperators with plain and offset strip fins is investigated to enhance the thermal efficiency of a micro gas turbine. Thermal cycle analysis is conducted to determine major design parameters of a single-pass counterflow recuperator. In order to evaluate the performance of the recuperator, the effectiveness and the pressure drop in the recuperators are chosen as the objective function and the design constraint, respectively. The optimized geometries for internal structure of the recuperators with plain and offset strip fins are obtained with varying the fin spacing and height. From the result, the recuperator with offset strip fins has better thermal performance when the fin spacing, s, is smaller than 1.45mm and the thermal performance of the recuperator with plain rectangular fins is higher than that with offset strip fins in the region of $s{\geq}1.45mm$. In addition, it is found that the entrance region effect and the longitudinal wall heat conduction effect should be taken into account for accurately predicting the thermal performance of the recuperators with both plain and offset strip fins.

접지가 있는 MCS 선로를 이용한 스텝 임피던스 저역 필터 (Stepped Impedance LPF Using MCS Line with Ground)

  • 본 논문은 접지가 있는 비대칭 CPW(Coplanar Waveguide) 선로를 conformal mapping 방법을 사용하여 해석하였다. 이 방법으로 선로의 준정전계 특성 파라미터인 특성 임피던스와 유효 유전율을 계산하였다. 계산된 결과는 상용 프로그램인 IE3D의 결과와 기존 실험값과 비교했으며, 거의 일치함을 보였다. 그리고 본 논문에 해석한 접지가 있는 비대칭 CPW(MCS: Micro Coplanr Strip) 선로를 이용하여 스텝 임피던스 저역 필터에 적용하였다. 제작된 스텝 임피던스 저역 필터는 일반 마이크로스트립 선로로 구현된 저역 필터 특성과 비교하였다. 제작된 필터의 실험 결과를 모의실험과 비교하여 잘 일치함을 확인하였다.

광 밴드 갭(Photonic Band Gap) 구조를 응용한 원형 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나 (A Circular Micro-Strip Patch Antenna Using a PBG)

  • 원형 마이크로스트립 안테나를 기본 구조로 하고 단점인 표면파의 영향을 개선하기 위해 접지면에 광 밴드 갭 구조를 취하여 대역폭을 늘리고 안테나의 후방 방사를 줄였다. 또한 광 밴드 갭의 형태를 각기 달리하여 그에 따른 안테나 특성의 변화를 관찰하였다. 끝으로 유전체 사이에 비유전율이 유전체보다 낮은 공기층을 삽입하여 전체적인 비유전율을 낮게 만들어 작은 크기로 높은 응답 주파수 특성을 보였다.
