In the case of fabricating micro pole structures such as column, square-pole and gear shaft by the micro end-milling process, it can be useful in the fields of industry, for example, micro parts, electrode for electrical discharge machining and micro mold for injection molding. In this study, machining factors and the process were analyzed. Machining experiments of various micro pole configurations were performed. Analysis of the change and effect of the cutting force according to the machining conditions was carried out. An analytical study of the deformation of the micro pole caused cutting conditions and cutting force through the finite element method and ANSYS program was carried out. As a result, this research presented a method of fabricating the column pole of below $100{\mu}m$ diameter with high aspect ratio by using micro end-milling process, and based on that, a method of fabricating a variety of applicable structures. Also the minimum size of the pole capable of fabricating through theory and experiment were demonstrated.

Up to now the incomplete texture have been manufactured through the 2D surface treatment like simple painting process or printing process. But in order to obtain 3D texture like natural object, micro scales' 3D surface structure on the surface of plastic part must be formed. In this study plastic smart phone case with 3D texture was produced by developing the surface duplication technology of natural object used electro-forming technology, by developing the press forming technology converted plane stamper to curved surface stamper and by developing the injection mold and molding technology which have been installed the curved surface stamper.

Chemical-Mechanical Polishing(CMP) especially is becoming one of the most important ULSI processes for the 0.25m generation and beyond. And there are many elements affecting CMP performance such as slurry, pad, process parameters and pad conditioning. Among these elements the CMP pad is considered one of the most important because of its change. But the surface of the pad has irregular pores, so there is non-uniformity of slurry flow and of contact area between wafer and the pad, and glazing occurs on the surface of the pad. So we make CMP pad with micro structure using micro molding method. This paper introduces the basic concept and fabrication technique of CMP pad with micro-structure and the characteristic of polishing. Experimental results demonstrate the removal rate, uniformity, and time vs. removal rate.

In this paper, we describe a simple, precise and low cost method of fabricating PDMS stamp for UV embossing. It is important to improve the replication quality of stamp because the accuracy of fabricated structure is related to that of the stamp in UV embossing. The PDMS stamp has been fabricated by the replica molding technology with ultrasonic vibration to eliminate micro-air bubbles during the fabrication process of PDMS stamp. Also, this fabrication to use ultrasonic vibration promotes PDMS solution to fill into micro channel and edge parts. We report the fabrication of an optical core using UV embossing with fabricated PDMS stamp. This fabricated core is $7\;\mu{m}\;at\;depth,\;6\;\mu{m}\;at\;width.\;This\;measured\;value\;has\;the\;difference\;below\;1\;\mu{m}$compared to the original stamp. The surface roughness of core is about 14 nm root mean square. This is satisfactory value to use low-loss optical waveguide. Our successful demonstration of precise replica technology presents an alternative approach for the stamp of UV embossing.

Recently, the micro end-milling processing is demanded the high-precise technique with good surface roughness and rapid time in milli-structure parts, micro machine parts and molding industry. The cutting conditions of micro end-milling has an effect on surface roughness of cutting surface. Therefore this study was carried out to cut stainless steel using high revolution air bearing spindle and micro end-mill and analyze the cutting condition to get the optimum surface roughness by design of experiment. From this study, surface roughness have an much effect according to priority on depth of cut, revolution of spindle and feed.
This paper mainly, describes the electrical characteristics caused by the change of structure in solid state of specimen by electron beam irradiation of high temperature-low expension type molding materials of power semiconductor element. The experiments on physical properties and electrical characteristics for the specimen irradiated electron beam are carried ont. For the investigation on physical properties, XRD analysis is used. And for the experiment of electrical characteristics, measurement of volumn resistivity is used.

Sandwich structures, which are composed of a thick core between two faces, are commonly used in many engineering applications because they combine high stiffness and strength with low weight. Depending on the sheets by a rolling process, which is a more efficient and economical approach compared to other types of processes, has become an increasingly important subject of study. In this paper, we made a roll forming machine which progressive forming possible and force measurement for a roll forming of the sheet metal forming. And we designed a roll molding that arrayed of embossing size 3mm in diameter fabricate micro dimple inner structure plate. We carried out forming experiment such as array change and thickness to sts304 sheet. Ultimately, this research developed inner structure plate of high stiffness.

Micro features on the surface are well-known to have significant effects on optical or mechanical properties such as the optical interference, reflectance at the surface, contact angle, interfacial friction, etc. These surface micro features are increasingly employed to enhance the functionality of the applications in various application areas such as optical components for LCD or solar panel. Diverse surface features have been proposed and some of them are showing excellent efficiency or functionality, especially in optical applications. Most applications employing the micro features need manufacturing process for mass production and the injection molding and roll-to-roll forming, which are typical processes for mass production adopting polymeric materials, may be also preferred for micro patterned plastic product. Since the functionality or efficiency of the surface structures generally depends on the shape and the size of the structure itself or the array of the structures on the surface, it would be very important to replicate the features very precisely as being designed during the molding the micro pattern applications. In this paper, a series of research activities is introduced for roll-to-roll forming of micro patterned film including filling of patterns with UV curable resin, demolding of surface structures from the roll tool, control of surface energy and cure shrinkage of resin and dispose time and intensity of the UV light for curing of UV curable resin.
The research was conducted to understand type of iron used by those who lived at dwelling site of Yangsoo-ri in between the first century B.C. and the first century A.D. to make steel products and their technique such as steel making process and heat treatment, based on micro structure information obtained through microscopic metallographic structure analysis with SEM-EDS of six steel productsexhumed at the site. Key findings are summarized as below. In the sense that Si-Ca-Al style and less than 0.5% of Ti were found in the non-metallic inclusion, the material used for forged iron ware was magnetite resolved in that. It is, however, unclear whether magnetite was resolved at high temperature or at low temperature. Microscopic structure analysis revealed that forged steel products were made through repeated hot working, the technique of molding by hitting after heating in the process of resolving and molding iron. As a result, the iron used here for the products was not the iron ore which was produced through resolution from discarded cast iron axe, ingot iron. It is probable that to make those steel products, disposed-of cast iron was reused after being molded by decarburizing. Although a few of relics were analyzed for the research, they were of critical importance in defining the process of ironware production from the first century B.C. and the first century A.D. at the Yangsoo-ri region. Judging from the iron from A-19 dwellingsite, it is possible to conclude that the iron was manufactured from cast iron decarburized and yet more research has to be done into relics yetto be exhumed in order to ascertain the finding. All of these findings are believed to play a critical role in further studies to define the steel-manufacturing technique used on the central Korean peninsular in the ancient times.

Mold design is a knowledge-intensive decision making process where product designer, injection molding engineer as well as mold designer affect each other. Representation and management of design knowledge is a prerequisite for an intelligent design system, which aims to guide and support designer to carry out design activity in more efficient way by avoiding or minimizing unnecessary trial and errors. This paper discusses the issues in knowledge-based mold design, and describes the structure of a knowledge-based mold design system fur parts with micro features under development.
