  • In this paper, a new scheme of adaptive-neuro control system is presented to implement real-time control of robot manipulator using Digital Signal Processors. Digital signal processors, DSPs, are micro-processors that are particularly developed for fast numerical computations involving sums and products of measured variables, thus it can be programmed and executed through DSPs. In addition, DSPs are as fast in computation as most 32-bit micro-processors and yet at a fraction of therir prices. These features make DSPs a viable computational tool in digital implementation of sophisticated controllers. Unlike the well-established theory for the adaptive control of linear systems, there exists relatively little general theory for the adaptive control of nonlinear systems. Adaptive control technique is essential for providing a stable and robust perfor-mance for application of robot control. The proposed neuro control algorithm is one of learning a model based error back-propagation scheme using Lyapunov stability analysis method.The proposed adaptive-neuro control scheme is illustrated to be a efficient control scheme for the implementation of real-time control of robot system by the simulation and experi-ment.

  • In this paper, it is presented a new scheme of adaptive-neuro control system to implement real-time control of robot manipulator using digital Signal Processors.   • The development of memory design and process technology enabled the production of high density memory. As the weight of embedded memory within aggregate Systems-On-Chips(SoC) gradually increases to 80-90% of the number of total transistors, the importance of testing embedded dual-port memories in SoC increases. This paper proposes a new micro-code based programmable memory Built-In Self-Test(PMBIST) architecture for dual-port memories that support test various test algorithms. In addition, various test algorithms including March based algorithms and dual-port memory test algorithms are efficiently programmed through the proposed algorithm instruction set. This PMBIST has an optimized hardware overhead, since test algorithm can be implemented with the minimum bits by the optimized algorithm instructions.

The Electrical Properties of the Laminated PTC Thermistor for Micro Circuit Protection as a Function of Starting Material and Sr Addition (초소형 회로보호용 적층 PTC 써미스터의 출발원료 및 Sr 첨가에 따른 전기적 특성)

  • We investigated the electrical properties the starting material and sintering condition on the laminated PTC thermistor for micro circuit protection. The influences of $BaTiO_3$ powder with the 0.3 and 0.45 ${\mu}m$ size and the electrical characteristics (Ba,Sr)$TiO_3$ sintered at 1350~1400$^{\circ}C$ for 2 h in a reducing atmosphere (1% $H_2/N_2$). The sintered (Ba,Sr)$TiO_3$ was increased pore and the grain size was decreased according to increasing Sr additions. In relative permittivity, the phase transition temperature of (Ba,Sr)$TiO_3$ was decreased for 2.5$^{\circ}C$ according to increasing 0.01 mole Sr additions, and the phase transition dose not appeared about 0.3 mole Sr addition. The (Ba,Sr)$TiO_3$ was show the low resistance from 0.01 mole to 0.05 mole by Sr addition, regardless of sintering temperature. The (Ba,Sr)$TiO_3$ was show $10^2$ jump order at 0.1 and 0.2 mole Sr addition, and PTCR of the sintered $(Ba_{0.7}Sr_{0.3})TiO_3$ does not appeared about 0.3 mole Sr addition, regardless of the sintering temperature and starting material size.

Soft-Start Open Circuit Voltage and Constant Current Sequence Control of 2.5[kW] HID Search Lamp for Ship (선박용 2.5[kW] HID 탐사등의 Soft-Start 방식에 의한 개방회로 전압과 점등전류 순차 제어)

  • HID(High Intensity Discharge) search lamp for shipment requires a high open circuit and output current compare than vehicle. This paper presents a soft-start open circuit voltage and constant current sequence control method for 2.5[kW] HID search lamp. The proposed method controls the opal circuit voltage and discharge current of HID lamp according to ignition signal with a simple 8-bit micro-processor and PWM device. For the stable control of lamp, micro-processor checks the output voltage and current. And the checked signals are compared with ignition signal and changes the control mode for stable operation. An ignition signal and micro-processor change the control mode from open circuit voltage contort to constant current control. The proposed control scheme is verified from experimental tests of 2.5[kW] HID search lamp for shipment.

  • 전기차량용 차량제어기는 차량 전체의 구동 전략과 브레이크 시의 회생제동, 고전압 배터리의 SOC management 등을 제어하는 역할을 한다. 엑셀 페달 및 브레이크 페달의 신호를 입력 받아 운전자의 주행의지를 받아 들이고, 차량의 각종 제어기들과 CAN 통신을 통하여 필요한 정보들을 송수신한다. 이러한 입/출력 동작을 통하여 차량 전체의 구동전략을 세우고 각종 제어기들에게 주행에 필요한 정보를 전달한다. MCU(Main Control Unit)로는 32bit micro-controller 이 적용되었으며, 열충격과 고온동작 내구 등의 환경시험 및 전자기파 적합성 시험등을 통해 외부환경 변화에도 요구 성능을 만족함을 확인하였다. 이러한 성공적인 개발을 통해 2011년 초 시범양산되는 현대기아자동차의 BLUE ON 에 양산적용될 예정이라는 데에 의의가 있다.

  • This paper proposes to design the residential power line communication device using Softwire Protocol, which targets the device with 8bit micro-controller and small-size memory based on low-rate power line communication network or wireless communication network. As a case study, the SCP message specification of air-conditioner that has capability of control and monitoring its status is designed using Softwire Protocol. And, it is described how the device operates sequentially.

  • The speed control system of induction motor without speed sensor is proposed in this paper. The speed of induction motor is calculated by motor terminal voltages and currents. The equations for speed calculation are derived and they are implemented on 16bit micro-processor Mc68000. The software and hardware for the Mc 68000 is developed. To prove the validity of the proposed method, the calculated speed is compared with the measured speed. The maximum speed error is nearly 1% in the overall range. The proposed speed calculation method is applied to the Current Source Inverter(CSI) fed induction motor drive system. The experimental results show the good dynamics and the resonable speed control accuracy.

  • The objective of this paper is to improve the transient response characteristics of hydraulic servosystem via a reduced-order observer which is modelled based upon the nonlinear hydraulic servosystem. The observer is a second order linear model and implemented using a 8 bit micro-computer. The performance of the observer-based hydraulic servosystem was investigated through the hybrid computer simulations and experiments. The result shows that the reduced-order observer can effectively improve the transient response characteristics of hydraulic servosystem.

  • In this paper, a steering feel simulator is designed and implemented using a steering wheel with a rotation angle sensor, torque sensor, and an ac motor for the generation of the required torque. The controller in the simulator consists of a 16-bit micro-controller, a D/A converter and A/D converters. The main objective of the controller is to perform torque control where the reference torque is calculated from the torque map for both the vehicle velocity and the wheel sensor cutout. It is shown via the experimentation using the proposed simulator that the simulator output performance can be easily understood for the variation of vehicle parameters or controller parameters.
