The electrical and optical Properties of the OELD using the Cz-TPD for cathode interface layer (음극접합층으로 Cz-TPD를 사용한 OELD의 전기적 광학적 특성)

  • In this study, The cathode interface layer (CIL) was investigated using aromatic diamine derivatives. Cz-TPD (4,4'-biscarbazolyl(9)-biphenyl) used in the cathode interface layers is investigated emition charcaracteristics at the green organic electroluminescent devices. TPD (N,N' -dyphenyl -N -N'-bis (3-methy phenyl)-1,1' -biphenyl-4,4' -diamine) as the hole transformer layer and $Alq_{3}:tris$ (8-hyd-roxyquinoline) aluminium) as the electron transport layer and emiting layer maded use of the organic electroluminescent device. The Organic Electroluminescent Device with Ag cathode and CIL of Cz-TPD(4,4'-biscarbazolyl(9)-biphenyl) showed good EL characteristics compare to a conventional Mg:Ag device and also an improved storage stability. [1] As the change in MgAg, Cz-TPD/Ag, Ag at the chthode, the electrical and optical charcaracteriseics were investigated.

Influence of P and Mg Additions on the Mechanical Properties and Electrical Conductivity of Cu-Sn Based Alloys (Cu-Sn계 합금의 기계적 성질과 전기전도도에 미치는 P 및 Mg 첨가의 영향)

  • The high electrical conductivity Cu-0.15% Sn alloys containing various P contents, and the high conductivity and high strength Cu-0.1% Sn-0.1%Ag alloys with various Mg/P additions were fabricated and their mechanical properties and electrical conductivity were investigated. The electrical conductivity was generally decreased as the P content was increased where as the hardness and strength was shown to increase. When Mg was added to P-containing Cu alloys, the detrimental effect of P on the conductivity was significantly reduced, and TEM observations indicated that the formation of $Mg_3P_2$ phase is responsible for this result.

  • The effect of ethylene on the proliferation of rhizomes and plant regeneration were investigated from rhizome segment culture of Cymbidium niveo-marginatum. Ethylene levels in the rhizome culture vessels were reached a maximum after 8 days of culture; total amount of ethylene evolution was much on the initiation of shoot induction than of rhizome proliferation. The treatment with ethephon on rhizomes was inhibited in the proliferation of rhizome and the growth of shoot length; however, the treatment was effective on shoot induction from rhizomes. Aminoethoxyvinylglycine(AVG) 1mg/L was effective on the proliferation of rhizomes and shoot induction from them; however, the proliferation of them was inhibited, and the growth of shoot length was significantly promoted at the concentration of 10mg/L AVG. The presence of $\textrm{AgNO}_{3}$ inhibited in the proliferation of rhizomes and shoot induction from them.

  • Cotyledonary petioles of Brassica napus cocultivated with Agrobacterium vectors for 72 h were transferred to MS medium with 0.5 mg/L NAA, 2.0 mg/L BA, 30 mg/L kanamycin, 100 mg/L cefotaxime, 30 g/L sucrose, 3 mg/L $\textrm{AgNO}_{3}$ and 2 g/L Gelrite. The cotyledonary petioles with green shoots were selected at a frequency of 17.5% in a selection medium and then rooted. Southern blot analysis confirmed the rolC and NPT IIgenes were incorporated into the regenerated plants. The stable inheritance of rolC gene was confirmed in progeny test of transgenic plants.

Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Ag sheath alloys for Bi-2223 superconductor tape

  • We evaluated the effect of alloying element additions to Ag sheath on mechanical, electrical and thermal properties of Bi-2223. Additions of Au, Pd and Mg to Ag sheath increased hardness and strength, while reduced elongation and electrical and thermal conductivity. In addition, microstructural investigation showed that the grain size of Ag significantly decreased with increasing content of alloying elements. The improvements in strength and hardness are believed to be due to the presence of alloying elements that lead to strengthen materials by combined effects of solid-solution, dispersion hardening and grain size hardening. Thermal conductivity of Ag and Ag alloys was evaluated in the temperature range from 77 K to 300 K, and com-pared to calculated value obtained by Wiedermann-Franz law. It was observed that the thermal conductivity decreased with increasing the content of alloying elements. Specifically, the thermal conductivity of $Ag_{0.92}Pd_{0.06}Mg_{0.02}$ alloy was measured to be $48.2W/(m{\cdot}K)$ at 77 K, which is about 6 times lower than that of $Ag(302.6W/(m{\cdot}K))$.

Plant Regeneration from Cotyledon and Hypocotyl Tissues of Chinese Cabbage (배추의 자엽과 배축 절편체로부터의 식물체 재분화)

  • The study was carried out to develop a simple and efficient system to regenerate plants from cotyledon and hypocotyl tissues of Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris L. ssp. pekinensis cv Seoul). Among the various combinations of naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and 6-benzyladenine (BA) tested, the best shoot induction medium for cotyledon, with 2.67 shoots per explants, contained $2.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ NAA, $1.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ BA and $16.7mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ $AgNO_3$. The shoot induction medium with $1.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ NAA, $5.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ BA and $16.7mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ $AgNO_3$, was best for shoot induction from hypocotyl explants, with 1.87 shoots per explants. After shoot induction, regenerated shoots were excised and rooted on rooting medium. Rooted plantlets were then hardened in the high humidity growth chamber and transplanted to pots, and then grown in the greenhouse. Regenerated plants appeared phenotypically normal and there were no changes in chromosome number.

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Mg-Li Powder by Hot Rolling Process

  • Hot rolling of Mg-6Zn-0.6Zr-0.4Ag-0.2Ca-(0, 8 wt%)Li powder was conducted at the temperature of $300^{\circ}C$ by putting the powder into the Cu pipe. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the samples were observed. Mg-6Zn-0.6Zr-0.4Ag-0.2Ca without Li element was consisted of ${\alpha}$ phase and precipitates. The microstructure of the 8 wt%Li containing alloy consisted of two phases (${\alpha}$-Mg phase and ${\beta}$-Li phase). In addition, $Mg_2Zn_3Li$ was formed in 8%Li added Mg-6Zn-0.6Zr-0.4Ag-0.2Ca alloy. By addition of the Li element, the non-basal planes were expanded to the rolling direction, which was different from the based Mg alloy without Li. The tensile strength was gradually decreased from 357.1 MPa to 264 MPa with increasing Li addition from 0% to 8%Li. However, the elongation of the alloys was remarkably increased from 10 % to 21% by addition of the Li element to 8%. It is clearly considered that the non-basal texture and ${\beta}$ phase contribute to the increase of elongation and formability.

The Assessment of Blood Glucose Distribution according to the Fasting State and Glycemic Control Indicators for Diabetes Screening (금식 여부에 따른 혈당치 분포와 당뇨병 선별을 위한 혈당조절지표의 평가)

  • This study analyzed the distribution of the blood glucose level according to the fasting status. Moreover, a relationship was analyzed between fasting blood glucose level and glycemic control indicators. A total of 707 outpatients, who visited Dankook University Hospital, were included and classified into either the fasting group and the non-fasting group. The mean blood glucose level of each group was calculated and analyzed by sex, age, and clinic. In addition, blood glucose, HbA1c, fructosamine, and 1,5-AG were measured in 153 fasting health check-up patients, and the correlation between the blood glucose level and glycemic control indicators was evaluated. Blood glucose averages between the two groups (non-fasting 111.9 vs. fasting 103.6 mg/dL) were different (p<0.05); and the mean difference was lower in women (4.8 mg/dL) than in men (12.2 mg/dL). A significant difference of the median glucose values among the age groups was only observed in the non-fasting group (Kruskal-Wallis test, p<0.01), and not in the fasting group. A 1,5-Anhydroglucitol was estimated to be significantly correlated with the fast blood glucose level in the range of the criteria of impaired fasting glucose (IFG). We presented an assessment of the distribution of blood glucose level in accordance with the fasting status among outpatients, and estimated that 1,5-anhydroglucitol was well correlated with the fasting blood glucose than fructosamine and HbA1c, through the analysis of results of health screening subjects. It is suggested that the use of glycemic indicators that reflect short-term blood glucose control can be used together with the blood glucose measurement in the screening of diabetes mellitus.

Preparation of PMN-PT-BT Powder by Modified Mixed Oxide Method and Effect of Ag on Dielectric Properties (Modified Mixed Oxide 방법에 의한 PMN-PT-BT 분말 합성 및 그의 물성에 미치는 Ag의 영향)

  • A single phase perovskite relaxor ferroelectric PMN-PT-BT was prepared by a single calcination and the modified mixed oxide process. It was accomplished by ball-milling PbO, $Nb_2O_5,\;Ti(OC_3H_7)_4,\;BaCO_3,\;and\;Mg(NO_3)_2$ instead of MgO, removing the solvent, and then followed by calcination at 900$^{\circ}C$ for 2h. The specimen sintered at 1100$^{\circ}C$/2h showed the sintered density of 7.83 g/$cm^3$, room temperature dielectric constant of 22000, and dielectric loss of 2.5%. Addition of 1.0 mole% (0.3 wt%) of Ag as $AgNO_3$ and followed by calcination at 550$^{\circ}C$/2h lowered the sintering temperature to 900$^{\circ}C$. It still showed the sintered density of 7.88 g/$cm^3$, room temperature dielectric constant of 20000 and dielectric loss of 2.4%.

Evaluation of thermal conductivity for High temperature superconductor tape at low temperature (고온초전도 선재의 극저온 열전도도 측정 및 특성평가)

  • The thermal conductivity of Ag and Ag alloys at low temperature (10~110 K) were evaluated by direct measurement technique. It was observed that thermal conductivity decreased with increasing the content of alloying elements such as Mg and Cu. Thermal conductivity of pure Ag tape at 20 K was measured to be 2794 W/m$\cdot$K. On the other hand, the corresponding values of Ag/Al tape and Ag/Al/sus315L tape were 1235 and 352 W/m$\cdot$K, respectively, indicating 2 to 8 times lower than that of pure Ag tape.
