This study examined user preferences toward transportation modes in Seoul. Two multidimensional scaling models, the ideal point and vector models, were applied to data on mode preferences of 114 adults in the metropolitan area. While both models produced fairly similar results, the vector model performed slightly better than the other in terms of interpretability of the results. The transport attributes elicited are comfort, flexibility, travel cost, travel time, privacy, and safety; among which comfort is salient most. The comfort variable is a multi-faceted attribute in nature. The variations of attribute preferences are most significant between the gender groups as well as worker/nonworker groups. In particular, male workers, female workers and female nonworkers form three distinctive market segments. An unidimensional scaling of the preference data reveals that subway, auto-driver, and subscription bus modes are preferred most, whereas motorcycle and bicycle least. The other modes of express bus, taxt, auto-passenger, bus and walk rank intermediately. An examination of how preference orders vary among modal groups hints that users align their stated attitudes to their choice in order to reduce cognitive dissonance.

Seoul Metro Line 9 (SML9) is the first subway line that private capital invests in Korea. SML9 will cross Seoul, linking the Gimpo Airport to the Gangnam district (25.5km) opening in the first half of 2009. SML9 has a new model in Korea constructed by metropolitan government and private company and operated by specialized public transportation service provider. SML9 is confronted with tough environment of stagnated public transportation and strong competitor, Olympic city expressway. And SML9 is under pressure for showing high efficiency as non-governmental organization from both customers and government. Consequently SML9 must lead the maximum efficiency by using its material and human resource. It is necessary that SML9 raise a competitive power and display its ability in active collaboration with relative organization and company. Hereupon, I propose renovation plans from viewpoint of operation field of SML9, (1) efficient train scheduling regime focusing on the combination of express and local train (2) close connection of other mean of transportation and (3) effective connection convention with Airport Railroad (AREX) as the line connected directly.

전 국토가 골고루 발전할 수 있는 세종시가 조기에 정착할 수 있는 방법 중 교통 인프라 구축이 가장 선행되어야 한다. 여러 가지 교통수단이 있지만, 본 연구에서는 BRT(Bus Rapid Transit)와 철도를 중심으로 연구하였다. 건설비가 지하철보다 10분의 1에 불과하지만, 지하철의 시스템을 갖추어 수송능력을 크게 높이는 신개념 대중교통수단 BRT, 기존선을 활용하여 건설하는 충청권 광역철도가 있다. 또한, 대전지하철 1호선을 정부세종청사까지 연장 운행하여 중앙행정기관 이전과 세종시 인구유입에 따른 교통수요의 급격한 증가에 대비하여 교통편익을 제공하고 세종시에 새로운 교통수단이 추가로 건설하여 인근 지역과 상생 발전을 기대할 수 있다.

최근 터널 발파현장을 중심으로 정밀한 시차를 갖는 전자뇌관을 활용하여 시공성을 향상하는 사례가 증가하고 있다. 본 사례는 『수도권 광역급행철도 A노선 민간투자사업 제00공구』 현장에서 비전기뇌관과 전자뇌관을 혼용하여 시험발파를 수행한 사례로, 현장 주변 상업시설과 지하철 등 보안물건이 있어 발파작업 시 진동과 소음의 세심한 관리가 필요한 곳이다. 당 현장은 비전기뇌관으로 설계되었으나, 굴진율의 저하로 비전기뇌관과 전자뇌관을 혼용함으로써 굴진율을 향상하고 진동과 소음을 관리하고자 하였다. 시험발파 결과 굴진율이 약 85%로 목표치를 달성하였고 진동과 소음의 최대 측정값은 0.215cm/sec와 73.22dB(A)로 규제기준 이하로 계측되었다. 당 현장은 도심지에서 발파작업이 진행되는 만큼 계측관리 대상물을 지정하여 지속해서 진동과 소음을 관리할 필요가 있다.
