음향 홀로그래피에 의한 실린더의 와류 유동 소음 가시화 및 기여량 분석 (Visualization and contribution analysis of the vortex shedding noise due to a cylinder by acoustic holography)

  • This paper exploits how vortex noise is generated around a cylinder. This is done by utilizing an acoustic holography. In this experiment. compressed air was Infected to tile cylinder through a hose. Therefore, major noise sources were at a hose end as well as around the cylinder: vortex shedding noise. The holography results show a resultant noise picture there it is not easy to clearly sort out the shedding noise and what is generated at the end of the tube. We attempted to separate those noise by the method we developed : contribution analysis scheme. The method, in fact, was found to be efficient and practical to separate the noise field into independent noise sources. The highlights of the results are. we believe, that lift and drag noise picture are now available. This procedure does not limit its application. therefore we may use this to visualize any noise field that we want to understand.

CAE를 이용한 파워트레인의 방사소음 저감을 위한 구조변경 (Structural Modification for the Reduction of Radiation Noise of a Powertrain Based on CAE Technology)

  • One of the key elements in efforts to minimize noise radiation from a powertrain is the knowledge of the main radiating component and the relation between the surface vibration of a powertrain and the sound pressure. In this research, the powertrain model is developed based on FEM(finite element method). This model is applied to the prediction of the vibration of a powertrain by using ADAMS and the radiation noise by using BEM(boundary element method). According to this numerical analysis, the surface vibration of a powertrain is investigated as a source of radiated noise. This surface vibration is caused by the 1st order natural vibration of the cylinder block and its mode shape is the torsion mode. Therefore, this mode shape is modified to reduce the surface vibration of the powertrain. The radiation noise of the modified powertrain is also reduced to $5{\sim}12\;dB$. This modification is very successful for the noise reduction based on the CAE technology.

다구찌 직교배열을 이용한 승용차의 실내소음 분석 및 개선 (Analysis and Improvement of Interior Noise in a Passenger Car using Taguchi Orthogonal Array)

  • The passenger car manufacturer should meet more and more strict requirements of customers on noise and vibration problems. It is proven that the Taguchi method is a powerful tool for improving the product quality in many areas. This paper employs the Taguchi method to reduce low-frequency booming noise in a passenger car. Selection of object function is very important to minimize interaction effects in the Taguchi method. We select logarithmic-scaled sound pressure level as an object function, which is commonly used to analyze the noise and vibration signals. The optimum noise level predicted with additive-model assumption agrees well with the test results. In addition, the optimum level is lower than the initial one by about 5 dB without any adverse effects. The results show that the Taguchi method can be applied efficiently to solve the noise problem in the passenger cars.

  • In this paper, fatigue life analysis of each structure was performed through theoretical analysis method at design stage in order to verify the success or failure of the store's acoustic noise durability according to the Method 515.5 standard of MIL-STD-810F. In addition, experimental analysis was carried out through the ground and flight test by manufacturing the measuring store, and verification of the sound durability was completed through the flight test after manufacture of the actual store. Furthermore, the commercial FEM code through the PSD calculation method applying measured SPL enables verify the durability of new store components development for the future.

  • This work focuses on finding a method to reduce the noise of a hermetic reciprocating compressor during start-up using an acoustical analysis. The noise of compressor during start-up, which is a higher level than that of a normal operating condition, has transient and non-stationary characteristics. The acoustical analysis of compressor cavity is performed to find an effective method to reduce the noise level. In the acoustical analysis, the shape variations of frequency response function in the neighborhood of resonances are tested for three parameters: the height of remained oil, the suction position of refrigerant and the position of driving part. As a conclusion of this result, to reduce the emission noise of compressor during start-up, the height of remained oil should be kept at 16 mm, the refrigerant should be sucked at the cross point of nodal lines of X and Y directional cavity modes, and the driving part should be positioned in the center of cavity.

차량의 실내소음에 대한 음질평가 연구 (Study on the Evaluation of Sound Quality of a Vehicle Interior Noise)

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a linear regression model for the sound quality index of vehicle Interior noise. For this, objective measurement data of the vehicles driving in acceleration was measured. On the basis of analysis, psychoacoustic parameters were extracted and subjective evaluation was performed by noise and vibration expert evaluators. For the subjective evaluation, the paired comparisons and the semantic differential methods were used to evaluate sound quality of vehicle interior noise. By the paired comparison which evaluate two pairs of vehicle interior noise, the preference was estimated. With the semantic differential and the factor analysis, it was evaluated words of two pairs which expressed appropriately the sense of evaluator about noise source. Therefore the characteristics of the sound qualify for the vehicle were differentiated. From the results of both the correlation analysis and the multiple factor regression analysis, the sound quality evaluation model for the sense of human hearing was derived and indexed.

  • The purpose of this study was to establish structural bone noise analysing method for apartments building floor with Structural-Acoustic coupling analysis. Nowadays, noise through floor is recognized as important problem with the consequence that noise isolation technique is studied in the various fields of industry. From among noise factors, resonance sound is main reason for floor's solid noise. therefore, In this study, evaluation method for composite material slab is established and that a case study is suggested with it.

  • The household reftigerator's noise which is closely related with resident environment can hardly be evaluated its sound quality using the Korean Standards. Radiation characteristics of compressor noise consist of tonal noise in low frequency range and, or narrow band noise in high frequency range. In this study, measuring method for detecting the abnormal and low-level noise in high frequency band is presented, and control method for its reduction is proposed. After installing wall which is similar to living condition, we determined a major concerning frequency band of noise. It can be found the directivity of high frequency noise radiated from compressor by using experiment and analysis. According to isolation of noise transfer path, remarkable noise reduction is achieved.

  • An instantaneous environmental noise simulation method emitted by a moving high-speed train by quasi-stationary analysis is proposed in this study. In the method, the propagation attenuations from stationary point sources on segmented railways to a receiver are calculated using a general purpose environmental noise prediction program ENPro based on the ISO 9613-2 method. Then, the instantaneous environmental noise at a receiver due to a moving high-speed train considering convection effect is evaluated with the information on the propagation attenuations from the instantaneous train location to the receiver and the sound power levels and directivity of stationary point sources evaluated by German Schall 03 (2006). To demonstrate the validity of proposed method, simulated and measured time history of instantaneous noise for KTX-I and KTX-II on running are compared and the results show that the method can be utilized for the train noise source identification as well as the simulation of instantaneous environmental noise emitted by a high-speed train.

  • There are so many types of construction equipment. Excavator is one of typical construction equipment which is working under the tough and severe environments. It's important for engineers to design CE components by the vibration durability point of view. Traditionally, two typical vibration durability methods to verify the durability of components. The first is experimental method which is using the vibration durability test bench. But experimental approach on vibration durability is needed a lot of cost and time. The second is analytical method which is using the vibration durability analysis such as Dirlik, Stainberg, Lalanne and others methodologies. The one of main advantages on vibration durability analysis can reduce the cost and time. We present a vibration durability analysis process and methodology on the guardrail system in excavator.
