Also, a Metaverse platform identity increased user-Metaverse platform identification in virtual and mirror worlds. Conclusion: This study contributes to multiple academic fields. First, the UXBDI of Metaverse platforms appears to be a key component of ongoing user-Metaverse relationships. Second, UXBDI affects relationships differently based on the Metaverse platform type.
Fashion design in the metaverse is not simply a 3D avatar or virtual fashion, it is an important clue for shopping trends, and the role of fashion design has grown even more because avatars and humans are identified and active. This study, I attempts to understand the metaverse platform accurately and find out the scope of fashion design within the metaverse platform. In addition, we want to provide basic data that can expand the field by using fashion design in various ways on the metabus platform. This study investigated and analyzed various metaverse fashion cases, articles, software, and methods used by metaverse fashion creators, and the results are as follows. First, the metaverse platform is a new level of virtual interaction where users and creators communicate through the convergence of augmented reality, lifelogging, mirror world, and virtual world. Second, most of the users of the metaverse platform are generation Z, and metaverse creators who make money by producing avatars or items, including fashion design, are emerging as a new job field. Third, many fashion brands created spaces on the Metaverse platform, collaborated with games, or opened fashion weeks for publicity, marketing, and sales. Fourth, as a 3D program for metaverse fashion creator activities, open-source software is easier and free of charge compared to programs for fashion design specialists, and most costumes can be reproduced, so it will be easier for fashion design majors to utilize.
This paper presents a case study in which a lesson was designed and applied to enhance preservice home economics teachers' instructional design competence using the metaverse. For 15 weeks from March 6 to June 14, 14 students enrolled on the course 'Multimedia Home Economics Education' for preservice home economics teachers used the metaverse to engage in problem-based learning to solve instructional design problems in home economics classes. In accordance with the ADDIE design model, in the analysis stage, we assessed preservice home economics teachers' level of knowledge of lessons using the metaverse, and their perceptions of the possibility, necessity, and usefulness of using the metaverse in home economics lessons. In the design and development stage, lesson plans, questions for problem-based learning, assessment tools, and teaching and learning materials were developed. The implementation was conducted in parallel with training on understanding multimedia and the metaverse, and instructional design competence was evaluated through pre- and post-testing and reflection journals. The results revealed that the preservice home economics teachers acquired a good understanding of lessons using the metaverse, learned how to design lessons for self-directed learning by applying the metaverse to their home and classroom, and gained confidence in applying it to their teaching practice or in-service work. It is expected that the results of this study will be used as support materials for prospective and current home economics teachers to design home economics lessons using the metaverse, thereby expanding the horizons of home economics education.
People nowadays must adapt to and live with a new software idea known as the "Metaverse" due to an inevitable shift in lifestyle brought on by pandemic effects. However, since the Covid-19 became an endemic, the enthusiasm towards the metaverse platform decreased significantly. But the potential of the metaverse remains a significant area of interest. Experiencing developments in technology can serve as a substantial lesson for the future. Notable metaverse platforms in the Republic of Korea so far include domestic companies such as ZEPETO, IFLAND, ZEP, and the Singaporean company BONDEE. Various metaverse platforms are being launched, and various studies are proceeding. However, there is still value in research specifically analyzed in the field of fashion. In this study, by comparing and analyzing the fashion design on the metaverse platforms ZEPETO, IFLAND, ZEP, and BONDEE, which are well-known in the Republic of Korea, metaverse fashion can be categorized into three types: 'Daily Type,' 'Costume Type,' and 'Unrealistic Type.' Analyzing these types revealed three characteristics of metaverse fashion design: realizable, playfulness, and expressiveness. This study holds significance in gaining foresight and a consistent interest in metaverse fashion by comparing and analyzing the fashion designs of well-known metaverse platforms in Korea.
This study aims to develop and apply a metaverse-based instructional design model for the education in science and technology. It analyzed the concept and characteristics of metaverse, existing non-contact education models, and major teaching strategies systematically. Based on the prior researches, an instructional design model using metaverse is developed that presents metaverse-related teaching strategies and design principles for the before-, during-, and after-lesson phases. Then, this model was applied to a project-based learning program, conducted a perception survey on instructors and learners, and revised the metaverse instructional design model based on the results of the survey. In the Metaverse Instructional Design Model, before-lesson phase is a physical and psychological preparation stage for class participation, which includes familiarization with the Metaverse learning environment, formation of expectations for education, and self-directed pre-learning. During the lesson, to effectively deliver the lesson content, it is necessary to build confidence in the learning environment, promote learning participation, provide reference materials, perform team projects and provide feedback, digest learning content, and transfer learning content. The after-lesson phase provides strategies for ongoing interaction between learners and mentors. This study introduces a new instructional design model that utilizes metaverse and shows the potential of metaverse-based education in science and technology. It also has important implications in that it provides practical guidelines for the effective design and implementation of metaverse-based education.
Along with the transition to the fourth industrial revolution, the possibility of metaverse-based innovation in the fashion field has been confirmed, and various applications are being sought. Therefore, this study performs meaning structure analysis and discusses the prospects of meta fashion using big data. From 2020 to 2022, data including the keyword "metaverse + fashion design" were collected from portal sites (Naver, Daum, and Google), and the results of keyword frequency, N-gram, and TF-IDF analyses were derived using text mining. Furthermore, network visualization and CONCOR analysis were performed using Ucinet 6 to understand the interconnected structure between keywords and their essential meanings. The results were as follows: The main keywords appeared in the following order: fashion, metaverse, design, 3D, platform, apparel, and virtual. In the N-gram analysis, the density between fashion and metaverse words was high, and in the TF-IDF analysis results, the importance of content- and technology-related words such as 3D, apparel, platform, NFT, education, AI, avatar, MCM, and meta-fashion was confirmed. Through network visualization and CONCOR analysis using Ucinet 6, three cluster results were derived from the top emerging words: "metaverse fashion design and industry," "metaverse fashion design and education," and "metaverse fashion design platform." CONCOR analysis was also used to derive differentiated analysis results for middle and lower words. The results of this study provide useful information to strengthen competitiveness in the field of metaverse fashion design.
This study aimed to present pioneering data on the use of Metaverse through a case study on the use of Metaverse by luxury brands and to reveal the intrinsic value of Metaverse in the fashion industry. The study was conducted based on literature data such as various articles and papers related to Metaverse and cases of luxury brands. For luxury brands data, we used Interbrand and LYST. As a result, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, and Burberry were selected. Examples of the use of luxury brands' Metaverse use include; Gucci actively embraced digital technology and used Metaverse technology for the most diverse purposes such as promoting new products, opening seasons, and experiences. Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga focused on the entertainment and games. Burberry focused on promoting and experimenting with new products. As a result of the study, the intrinsic value of the Metaverse is as follows. First, there are no restrictions on time, scale, and institution. Second, active information acceptance is possible; Information can be selectively accommodated through participation and communication using Metaverse. In line with the rapid spread of Metaverse in various marketing areas, fashion companies have also begun to devise various activities using the Metaverse. Fashion experiences within the Metaverse platform must be conducted considering the characteristics of the Metaverse itself. However, there has yet to be any research on Metaverse fashion based on the characteristics of the Metaverse platform itself. Accordingly, this study sought to empirically analyze the impact of various characteristics of the Metaverse platform on consumers' virtual fashion experience within the platform. In particular, this study focused on the relationships among the Metaverse platform characteristics, perceived avatar identity, and the purchase intention of actual fashion products. In order to test the hypotheses, a survey was conducted on 300 Korean male and female consumers with an average age of 39.3 who had experience with virtual fashion through the Metaverse platform. In response to the recent increase in domestic and foreign brands' attempts to experience fashion using ZEPETO, the questionnaire provided an experience scenario that included detailed captured images of the use of avatars in the ZEPETO world. Data was subjected to statistical analysis using the SPSS 28.0 program. The results confirmed that the characteristic factors of the Metaverse platform (i.e., presence, social interactivity, anonymity) had a significant impact on the user's perceived avatar identification. Additionally, perceived avatar identity significantly affected users' purchase intention. Theoretical and managerial implications and study limitations are discussed.

Among human intellectual creations, the right granted by law to what is worth protecting is defined as intellectual property rights. Copyright is a legal right to creative finished products made by individuals, and in recent years, this legal right has been recognized as very important. In other words, copyright is a system created to protect the rights of individuals who created creations and to recognize their efforts. Works subject to copyright vary from poetry, thesis, novels to designs, paintings, music, and architecture, and the scope of the subject is gradually expanding. Recently, research has begun on how far the Metaverse design area absorbed into the real world among works. Computer-generated video productions and software program works are also subject to digital copyright protection, but it is also true that the interpretation of the author protection law for works, designs, and trademarks in the virtual world is unclear. This study aims to analyze copyrights based on case studies and theoretical backgrounds on copyright protection and to discuss the protection limitations of Metaverse design in the virtual world. In other words, the direction for the protection of Metaverse design is presented through clear distinction and definition of copyright protection in the tertiary virtual world. This study aims to present methods for design copyright protection in the era of Metaverse, respect copyright holders' creative activities, and develop our culture through protection of creations.
