In the domestic construction industry field nowadays, the usage of deck plates is currently increasing due to the lack of construction workers and the rised in construction cost. However, using deck plates manufactured by thin zinc galvanization in underground structures is criticised because it can lead to increase in maintenance cost caused by rust generation and water leakage. As a solution for this particular problem, deck plates created by Lath and Mortar instead of zinc galvanized steel sheets were developed. This paper deals with the experimental study on flexural behavior of deck plate using metal lath and mortar. Seventeen fullscale specimens were constructed and tested with different type of truss, the diameter of the top and bottom bar, and the thickness of slab. Tests results show that LAMO deck displayed equal performance such as zinc galvanized steel sheets.

Metal Bearing's research that use the clad steel had led in advanced country. Metal Bearing that is produced by domestic companies is ship, vehicles, development equipment and plant equipment. This is Cast White Metal Lining Bearing that is Bimetal Bearing standing 2 generation. Cast White Metal Lining Bearing is foreseen to be used widely on industry whole in the future. Cast White Metal Bearing is product that need precision processing. But the technique is generalized widely. So an advanced country is depending on import from a developing country that price is cheaper than itself manufacture. it is judged that high added value creation by deepening of price competition is difficult. Therefore need product development of new form and is changing to Trimetal Bearing parts. Trimetal Bearing is high quality technique that do compression junction to thin plates of special object on the Back Metal. Therefore, this research developed Trimetal bearing's materials.

Use of a plasma arc as the source of energy for penetration welding of thin plates gives rise to a cylindrical hole surrounded by the molten metal. Material moves from the front to the rear of the hole by flowing around the hole as the workpiece is translated relatively to the arc. Based on the finite difference method, three different computer models have been proposed for the steady state, two dimensional heat and mass flow during the plasma arc welding. In the formulation energy equation was derived by the energy blance method through the cell control volume, and all the governing equations derived for the fixed coordinates was translated for the moving coordinate system. The driving force for fluid flow being considered was only electromagnetic force. The calculated and measured molten poon and HAZ width were compared and better agreement was obtained for the models considering the keyhole effect.
Using calcium-phosphate-powder targets with the Ca/P ratios of 1.0-1.67, hydroxyapatite ($Ca_{10}(PO_4)_6(OH)_2$, HAp) thin films with 4-7㎛ thickness were prepared on titanium metal plates by r.f. magnetron sputtering, followed an annealing at $200^{\circ}C$ for 24 hr under a high water vapor pressure using an autoclave. All the specimens were systematically characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM and EDS analyses. The post-annealed films were confirmed to be a nonstoichiometric oxyhydroxyapatite by XRD and FT-IR measurements.

Fabrication of a nano-laminar ceramic composite by sintering thin ceramic plates was examined. Silver-coated glass flakes with a thickness of less than $1{\mu}m$ were consolidated by pulsed current sintering or hotpressing to obtain model composites. The samples sintered at the optimum conditions were fairly dense, and the flakes were aligned by uniaxial press. The metal coating remained on the flakes through the sintering process, and became an interface layer between the flakes. No crack propagation through the transverse direction of the lamellar was observed in the indentation test. The possibilities of high resistance against crack propagation was suggested.

The goal of this paper is to investigate structural integrity factors of RMI(reflective metal insulation) to confirm the design requirements in nuclear power plant. Currently, a glass wool insulation is using now, but it will gradually be replaced with the reflective metal insulation maded by stainless steel plates. The main function of an insulation is to minimize a heat loss of vessel and pipes in RCS(reactor coolant system). It has to maintain structural a integrity in nuclear power plant life duration. In this study, the structural integrity analysis was carried out both multi-plate and outer shell plate by using a static analysis and experimental test. First, inner multi-plate has a self support structure for being air space. Because the effect of total static weight in multi-layer plate is low, a plate collapse possibility is not high. Considering optimum thin plate pressing process, it has to pre-check the basic physical properties. Second, the outer segment thickness and stiffener shape are verified by the numerical static analysis, and sample test for both type of panel and cylindrical pipe model.
In autobody assembly, thin-wall, tubular connections have been used for the frame structure. Recent interest in light materials, such as aluminum or magnesium alloys, has been rapidly growing for weight reduction and fuel efficiency. Due to higher thermal expansion coefficient, low stiffness/strength, and low softening temperature of aluminum and magnesium alloys, control of welding-induced distortion in these connections becomes a critical issue. In this study, the material sensitivity to welding distortion was investigated using a T-tubular connection of three types materials; low carbon steel (A500 Gr. A), aluminum alloy (5456-H116) and magnesium alloy (AZ91C-T6). An uncoupled thermal and mechanical finite element analysis scheme using the ABAQUS software program was developed to model and simulate the welding process, welding procedure and material behaviors. The predicted angular distortions were correlated to the cumulative plastic strains. A unique relationship between distortion and plastic strains exists for all three materials studied. The amount of distortion is proportional to the magnitude and distribution of the cumulative plastic strains in the weldment. The magnesium alloy has the highest distortion sensitivity, followed by the other two materials with the steel connection having the least distortion. Results from studies of thin-aluminum plates show that welding distortion can be minimized by reducing the cumulative plastic strains by preventing heat diffusion into the base metal using a strong heat sink placed directly beneath the weld. A rapid cooling method is recommended to reduce welding distortion of magnesium tubular connections.

Lap joint welding conducts low carbon steel plates using a 2.0kW continuous wave Nd:YAG laser beam. The specimen is composed of thin plate of 20 sheets. Process Variables contain two controlled parameters of the laser power and the welding speed. In order to quantitatively examine the characteristics of the lap welding, the welding quality of the cut section, stain-stress behavior, and the hardness of the welded part are investigated. The weld width difference between the top and the bottom because the welding speed is increased. The reason, cooling rate is decreased because of fast welding speed. When the heat input is higher, larger volume of the base metal will melt and the welding heat has longer time to conduct into the bottom from the top. The microstructure and tensile properties of the joints are investigated in order to analyze the effects of heat input on the quality of laser welded specimen. From the results of the investigation, We observe that welding quality is good for the laser power of 1800W, and laser welding speed from 1.8m/min to 2.2m/min.

Although fibrous insulations are generally used with resistive insulation type, metallic insulation is proper matter to satisfy low head-loss and equipment life when considering the specific condition, especially for Nuclear power plant. Common insulation is resistance insulation with a low thermal conductivity. but RMI is made of sheet plate with low emissivity and closed air space. Thermal radiation is blocked by stainless steel with low emissivity. Thermal conductivity and thermal convection are blocked by closed air space. This study shows the changes and effects of the heat loss according to shape and method of stacking sheet plates inserted into the insulation and analyzed the most optimized way for thermal insulation performance. The result shows that using sheet plate structure through raised and protruding shape processing was the appropriate model to optimize thermal performance. Additionally, insulating performance of RMI improved by placing the sheet plate in a high temperature region intensively.
