Until now, many metadata registries have been built in various fields and the metadata registries were built based on ISO/IEC 11179 which is the international standard for metadata management. However, their management systems do not fully support various and useful tools to easily and systematically manage the metadata registries. In this paper, we describe the metadata registry management system we designed and implemented. The implemented metadata registry management system provide many useful tools for efficient and easy metadata management. Finally, the developed system is also based on the international standard, ISO/IEC11179. Therefore, we can apply it to other fields for building and managing metadata registries.

Currently for the development of internet and network technology, since request of service for the large volume multimedia data has been more increased, multimedia users want the convenience and accuracy of multimedia service system about storing and retrieving of the multimedia contents. To satisfy the request of users, metadata management for the diverse information of multimedia contents is very important. However, the metadata management for the multimedia contents is difficult because the metadata standards are different each other for the type of multimedia data and service. In this paper, we propose the integration metadata management system structure which extends previous metadata management system based on text for the multimedia contents metadata which are expressed differently each other according to the multimedia data or service type.

ISO 15489:2001 addresses the principles and requirements with which organizations, both public and private, should comply on the management of their records to ensure that adequate records are created, captured and managed. The standard defines the characteristics that a record should have through records management system as follows: authenticity, reliability, integrity, and usability. Authenticity means that records can be proven to be what it purports to be, to have been created or sent by the person purported to have created or sent it, and to have been created or sent at the time purported. Reliability means that the contents of the records can be trusted as a full and accurate representation of the transactions, activities or facts to which they attest and can be depended upon in the course of subsequent transactions or activities. Integrity refers to ensuring that a record is complete and unaltered. Usability means that records can be located, retrieved, presented and interpreted. In order to have these characteristics, a record should be persistently linked to the metadata necessary to document a transaction. Metadata is "data describing context, content and structure of records and their management through time." Metadata ensure the creation and maintenance of authentic, reliable and usable records and the protection of the integrity of those records. It could be implemented by creating and capturing records management metadata in systems that create and manage records. There have been some projects and standard initiatives to identify a core set of records management metadata. Included are the Australian Recordkeeping Metadata Standard and the British Metadata Standard which is part of the Requirements for Electronic Records Management System. Recently ISO/TS 23081-1 is published to implement metadata requirements within the framework of ISO 15489. Public records management system in Korea is ruled by the Act on the Management of Archives by Public Agencies and Administrative Records Management Regulation. This article evaluates records and their descriptive elements captured and maintained by the records management system in Korea on the basis of the international metadata standards.

In this paper, we define EMRA-based USN metadata to describe sensor device, sensor node, and sensor network information at the application level. And the proposed method for effectively storing and retrieving USN metadata based on EMRA uses agent technology. As the sensor metadata proposed in this paper is based on SensorML, interoperability can be maintained in the USN environment, and the metadata management system can be directly utilized for metadata management in USN middleware or applications.

Metadata is a structured data that makes computer to understand web based data. Types of metadata are Dublin core, ONIX, and EBKS metadata in Korea. Dublin Core is well known among these metadata. Archive is a data, that is the result of ones or groups working process, which is reasonably maintained and stored. These archives are stored and maintained lawfully and suitably for efficient usages for the future. For efficiently managing these grant amount of archive, Finding Aids and Description are needed. Adoption Archives and Records Management system is inevitable in order to maintain organized and efficient data. Metadata helps governments data that is grant to organize in simple way. For maintaining and storing data efficiently, using metadata for Archives and Records Management is essential. Form this report, we will see the examples of using metadata of other country, such as GILS(Government Information Locator Service), AGLS(The Australian Government Locator Service), NZGLS(New Zealand Government Locator Service), Danish Dublin Core and e-GMS(e-Government Metadata Standard) and e-GMF(e-Government Metadata Framework).

Recently many organizations have attempted to build hypermedia systems to expand their working areas to internet-based virtual work places. It is thus important to manage corporate hypermedia documents effectively. Metadata play a critical role for managing these documents. This paper identifies metadata roles and components to build its schema. Furthermore a meta-information system HyDoMiS(Hyperdocument Meta-information System) is proposed by the use of this metadata schema. HyDoMiS performs three functions; metadata management search and reporting The metadata management function is concerned with workflow document and database. The system is more likely to help implement and maintsain hypermedia information system effectively.

In this paper, we propose a system that allows small business owners focusing on the restaurant business to easily understand the management situation, and to manage the operation and management centering on the cost of food materials and profits and losses. In general, the metadata structure is different depending on the POS system, so it is necessary to first develop a standardized metadata model for a food material cost management system for small business owners in various industries. For that reason, the system proposed in this paper was applied to the cost management app by referring to the development of a data model using the metadata standard. In addition, in order to implement a cost profit/loss management system for small business owners in the restaurant industry, it was designed to support standardized metadata models from various types of POS systems, and is a hybrid app that can support a smart environment. The purpose of the study is to evaluate Korean Records Management Metadata Standard with special emphasis on the contextual elements in their implementation aspect, and to provide the direction of the Standard revision for improving the metadata quality of RMS developed by National Archives of Korea. The present paper begins with comparing RMS data and the Standard elements, and examines the problems of current accumulation practices of contextual metadata elements in the RMS. Finally it makes some suggestions concerning the Standard revision as well as RMS function upgrade.

One of the most interests is currently a field related with serious game. Also, the scale of serious game industry is rapid quantitative growth every year. For effective management of metadata of serious game is an important issue so that we propose design of integrated management system for effective management of metadata of serious game. The system provide a service based on internet. Users(general users, developers, experts and managers of metadata) of serious game who can carry out effectively works using proposed system such as new metadata information input, existing metadata information search, generated document files(HTML, XML, EXCEL, MS-WORD) as search results saving into their owns local computer system and so on.
