  • This study was aimed to construct a theoretical model for managing persons with early psychosis. We systematically searched SCOPUS, PubMed, RISS, Web of Knowledge, and KoreaMed for related factors to manage persons with early psychosis. Significant terms or phrases for a preliminary structural model were obtained from 19 studies since 2000 regarding the management of persons with early psychosis. Moreover, the content validity for the model was evaluated by 22 professionals. The study results revealed 51 factors for managing persons with early psychosis extracted by meta-analysis, and all factors were divided into 21 medium classification and 8 categories. A theoretical model was constructed with 8 categories, by using the middle range theory of Peplau's Interpersonal Relationships in Nursing. The results suggest that the theoretical model for the management of persons with early psychosis provides a sound theoretical basis for future study.

  • Background: Restoration of external (ER) and internal rotation (IR) after Grammont-style reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) is often unreliable. The purpose of this systematic review was to evaluate the influence of RSA medio-lateral offset and subscapularis repair on axial rotation after RSA. Methods: We conducted a systematic review of studies evaluating axial rotation (ER, IR, or both) after RSA with a defined implant design. Medio-lateral implant classification was adopted from Werthel et al. Meta-analysis was conducted using a random-effects model. Results: Thirty-two studies reporting 2,233 RSAs were included (mean patient age, 72.5 years; follow-up, 43 months; 64% female). The subscapularis was repaired in 91% (n=2,032) of shoulders and did not differ based on global implant lateralization (91% for both, P=0.602). On meta-analysis, globally lateralized implants achieved greater postoperative ER (40° [36°-44°] vs. 27° [22°-32°], P<0.001) and postoperative improvement in ER (20° [15°-26°] vs. 10° [5°-15°], P<0.001). Lateralized implants with subscapularis repair or medialized implants without subscapularis repair had significantly greater postoperative ER and postoperative improvement in ER compared to globally medialized implants with subscapularis repair (P<0.001 for both). Mean postoperative IR was reported in 56% (n=18) of studies and achieved the minimum necessary IR in 51% of lateralized (n=325, 5 cohorts) versus 36% (n=177, 5 cohorts) of medialized implants. Conclusions: Lateralized RSA produces superior axial rotation compared to medialized RSA. Lateralized RSA with subscapularis repair and medialized RSA without subscapularis repair provide greater axial rotation compared to medialized RSA with subscapularis repair. Level of evidence: 2A.

  • The Gantzer's muscle is often present in the flexor compartment of the forearm. It lies underneath flexor digitorum superficialis and compresses the anterior interosseous nerve. Furthermore, this muscle frequently bestows an accessory muscle of flexor pollicis longus or flexor digitorum profundus, or sometimes together. The current meta-analysis aims to compute the prevalence of subtypes of Gantzer's muscle. Major electronic databases (PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, etc.) were searched for title and abstract. After removing the duplicate citations, the titles/abstracts were shortlisted with the help of inclusion and exclusion criteria. The shortlisted titles/abstracts were downloaded or collected from the library. The data of all subtypes of Gantzer's muscle were pooled from shortlisted published manuscripts for meta-analysis. The pooled estimate of other anatomical characteristics was also observed. A total of 59 cadaveric studies of sample size 5,903 were evaluated for pooled prevalence of flexor pollicis longus (accessory head). Similarly, the authors evaluated 14 studies of 1,627 upper limbs for flexor digitorum profundus (accessory head). The unit of analysis was per 100 upper limbs. The Pooled prevalence of accessory muscle of flexor pollicis longus and flexor digitorum profundus were 48% (95% CI, 44%-52%) and 17% (95% CI, 13%-21%), respectively. The Gantzer's muscle is present in 2/3rd of the upper limbs. Accessory head of flexor pollicis longus is almost three times more common than the accessory head of flexor digitorum profundus. A classification of Gantzer's muscle is needed to reduce the ignorance of these variants.

  • This study is a meta-analysis study conducted to integrate and analyze the results of flip-learning studies for Korean nursing students. We searched PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, CINAHL, and Korean databases. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and Non-Randomized controlled trials (Non-RCTs) evaluating the effects of flipped learning for Korean nursing students were included. Standardized mean differences (SMDs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using a random-effects meta-analysis. The entire effect size in flipped learning was big in effect size (SMD = 1.21; 95% CI = 0.84 to 1.63; I2 = 93.9; n = 23) compared to the control groups. The analysis results of subgroups according to the classification of Bloom showed that flipped learning was found to have a significant effect on psychomotor domain, cognitive domain, and affective domain. A total of 10 literature analyses, this meta-analysis showed that flipped learning on Korean nursing students is effective in psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domain than the traditional teaching method. The flip learning can be integrated into theoretical and practical nursing education to improve the academic performance of nursing students.

  • This paper presents an extensive experimental comparison of a variety of multi-label learning methods for the accurate prediction of subcellular localization of proteins which simultaneously exist at multiple subcellular locations. We compared several methods from three categories of multi-label classification algorithms: algorithm adaptation, problem transformation, and meta learning. Experimental results are analyzed using 12 multi-label evaluation measures to assess the behavior of the methods from a variety of view-points. We also use a new summarization measure to find the best performing method. Experimental results show that the best performing methods are power-set method pruning a infrequently occurring subsets of labels and classifier chains modeling relevant labels with an additional feature. futhermore, ensembles of many classifiers of these methods enhance the performance further. The recommendation from this study is that the correlation of subcellular locations is an effective clue for classification, this is because the subcellular locations of proteins performing certain biological function are not independent but correlated.

  • Combining multiple classifiers to obtain improved performance over the individual classifier has been a widely used technique. The task of constructing a multiple classifier system(MCS) contains two different Issues how to generate a diverse set of base-level classifiers and how to combine their predictions. In this paper, we review the characteristics of existing multiple classifier systems : Bagging, Boosting, and Slaking. For document classification, we propose new MCSs such as Stacked Bagging, Stacked Boosting, Bagged Stacking, Boosted Stacking. These MCSs are a sort of hybrid MCSs that combine advantages of existing MCSs such as Bugging, Boosting, and Stacking. We conducted some experiments of document classification to evaluate the performances of the proposed schemes on MEDLINE, Usenet news, and Web document collections. The result of experiments demonstrate the superiority of our hybrid MCSs over the existing ones.

  • In South Korea, the results of R&D in science and technology are submitted to the National Science and Technology Information Service (NTIS) in reports that have Korea national science and technology standard classification codes (K-NSCC). However, considering there are more than 2000 sub-categories, it is non-trivial to choose correct classification codes without a clear understanding of the K-NSCC. In addition, there are few cases of automatic document classification research based on the K-NSCC, and there are no training data in the public domain. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first attempt to build a highly performing K-NSCC classification system based on NTIS report meta-information from the last five years (2013-2017). To this end, about 210 mid-level categories were selected, and we conducted preprocessing considering the characteristics of research report metadata. More specifically, we propose a convolutional neural network (CNN) technique using only task names and keywords, which are the most influential fields. The proposed model is compared with several machine learning methods (e.g., the linear support vector classifier, CNN, gated recurrent unit, etc.) that show good performance in text classification, and that have a performance advantage of 1% to 7% based on a top-three F1 score.

  • Objectives: The present study aimed to provide clinical evidence on the effect of herbal medicine, Hyeolbuchukeo-tang or Xuefu Zhuyu decoction for the treatment of primary insomnia using a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Methods: This study included RCTs that verified the effects of Hyeolbuchukeo-tang or Xuefu Zhuyu decoction for the treatment of primary insomnia. Literature searches of English, Chinese and Korean databases were performed, and the selected literature was assessed for investigating the risk of bias. Results: The analysis included 10 RCTs. The Chinese Classification of Mental Disorders-3 was most frequently used to define the diagnostic criteria for Hyeolbuchukeo-tang or Xuefu Zhuyu decoction intervention in patients with primary insomnia. The effective rate was the most commonly used outcome measure. A meta-analysis revealed that the effective rate, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and the Athens Insomnia Scale in the Modified Xuefu Zhuyu decoction (MXZD) group were higher compared to Western Medicine (WM) group (RR: 1.17, 95% Cl: 1.08 to 1.26, p<0.0001, $I^2$=0/MD: -1.29, 95% Cl: -2.09 to -0.49, p=0.002, $I^2$=0%/MD: -0.99, 95% Cl: -1.81 to -0.18, p=0.02, $I^2$=15%). The effective rate of the MXZD+WM group was significantly different compared to the WM group (RR: 1.28, 95% Cl: 1.11 to 1.47, p=0.0006, $I^2$=2%). The included RCTs were of relatively poor quality and had small sample sizes. Conclusions: Treatment with Hyeolbuchukeo-tang or Xuefu Zhuyu decoction was found to be effective in treating primary insomnia. However, the included RCTs were of relatively poor quality and had small sample sizes. It is hypothesized that this study could serve as a foundation for further clinical studies on the development of diagnosis and treatment methods for primary insomnia based on Korean medicine.
