  • The existing cluster-based routing protocols have some problems. Firstly, because of selecting cluster head at random, they occur a node concentration problem. Secondly, they have a low reliability for data communication due to the less consideration of node communication range. Finally, data communication overhead is greatly increased because of sending all sensor node information to sink node for constructing clusters. To solve these problems, we in this paper, propose a cluster-based routing protocol using message reception success rate. Firstly, to solve the node concentration problem, we design a cluster head selection algorithm based on node connectivity and devise cluster spliting/merging algorithms. Secondly, to guarantee data communication reliability, we use message reception success rate. Finally, to reduce data communication overhead, we use only neighbor nodes information at both cluster construction and cluster head selection.

  • Vehicle safety communications is one among the important technologies in order to protect a car accident. For this, many protocols forwarding a safe message have studied to protect a chain-reaction collision when a car accident occurs. most of these protocols assume that the time of generating a safe message is the same as an accident's. If a node predicts some traffic hazard and forwards a safe message, a driver can response some action quickly. So, In this paper, we proposes a traffic hazard prediction algorithm using the communication technique. As a result, we show that the frame reception success rate of using our algorithm to the previous protocol improved about 4~5%.

  • A car accident on a highway occurs a chain-reaction collision because of a vehicle's fast velocity. In order to prevent it, the accident vehicle should broadcast a safe message to its neighbors. If there are many neighbor nodes, a frame collision probability is high. To solve this, it was proposed for a system as a previous study to send a safe message without frame-collision using separating channels. However, the separation of multiple channels make feasibility low because of increasing hardware's development cost and complexity. In this paper, we proposes a TDMA-based MAC protocol using a single channel. As a result, we show the frame reception success rate of our protocol was almost the same as the previous protocol.

  • When a car accident happened on a highway, the accident vehicle should broadcast a safe message to its neighbors in order to prevent a chain-reaction collision. Also, there is a problem that the estimation accuracy is low because of the memory limit from increasing the sampling count. In this paper, we proposes a HVC systems using a back-off algorithm applied to a gaussian model. And we proposes a MAC protocol preventing the communication delay by separating the neighbor count collection channel, data channel, and RSU communication channel. As a result, we show the frame reception success rate of our protocol improved about 10% than the previous protocol.

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm to improve collision avoidance in Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) networks based on IEEE 802.11p. Since IEEE 802.11p adopts CSMA/CA as a multiple access scheme and an emergency warning message (EWM) is delivered to behind vehicles in a multi-hop manner, due to transmission collision, the more vehicles in the vehicle chain results in a longer delay. The longer delay increases the possibility of a rear-end collision. In order to ensure message reception with low latency, we consider implicit acknowledgement of a broadcasted EWM message and propose an algorithm to reduce redundant message transactions, called Two-Way Implicit Acknowledgement (TWIA). By simulations, we show that our proposed algorithm can reduce the latency until the last car receives the message by 9% and the success rate every car receives the message within 0.7sec by 12% at 100 fixed-number-of-car environment.

  • When a car accident happened, the accident vehicle should broadcast a safe message to its neighbors in multi-hop. However, the pure flooding is difficult to protect a chain-reaction collision because of the frequent collision and the communication delay. To solve this problem, we proposes a back-off algorithm applied to the estimation of the neighbor node count using the t-distribution. And we proposes a MAC protocol preventing the communication delay by separating the neighbor's count collection channel and data channel. As a result, we show the frame reception success rate of our protocol improved more 10% than the previous protocol.

  • The success of naval operation prioritizes the implementation of a robust communication network that delivers accurate and prompt communications to one another. The satellite, which is the main communication network of the military, is required to construct a preliminary communication network because of the enemy radio disturbance and weak point of fixed antenna. The military operational communication network has been in transition from voice-centered wireless communication network to text message-based communication network. In this paper we suggest an enhanced communication method built on Roll Call, the main communication method of ROK Navy operating tactical data link called Link-11. Simulation results display that the proposed method reduces the transmission time per unit frame by 4.3 times compared to the Roll Call and 6.3 times compared with the Round Robin & Broadcasting; it is also proved that the higher the direct reception rate, the shorter the transmission time required by 1.6 times maximum.
