Consumer Purchasing Decisions on Sustainable Products in Advertising: The Interplay of Message Appeals and Agency-Communion Orientations

  • Both message appeals and individual characteristics can influence the effectiveness of sustainable product promotions. Applying the agency-communion orientation to the advertising message research context, this study examined the interplay between message appeals and agency-communication orientations in impacting purchase intentions. The findings from a 2 (message appeal: self-interest vs. public-interest message) × 2 (motivational orientation: agency vs. communion) experiment revealed a communion-over-agency effect on consumer purchasing decisions for public-interest message appeals. In the self-interest message condition, we found no statistically significant difference in impact between agency and communion on purchase intentions. In short, we contribute to advertising effectiveness research by showing that agency-communion orientations moderate the effect of message appeals. We also explain the practical implications of these findings for effective sustainable communication in advertisements based on individuals' motivational orientations.

  • Event notification service is a event-based messaging middle ware service needed for various vertical domains, such as, business applications, distributed system management, and web service integration. In this paper, we investigate the architecture of an event notification service that includes a subject-based event dissemination service and a flexible message communication service. The event dissemination service is in charge of transferring events asynchronously but speedy according to the subjects of events and their environmental knowledge. It also includes content-based message filtering. The message communication service provides a common communication infrastructure supporting variety types of messages and variety of protocols. Depending on application domains and situation, we can re-configurate the communication infrastructure in order to optimize the efficiency and usability. This paper shows the performance analysis of our event notification service with various types of message formats and protocols.

지능형 차량 교통체계에서 보안 통신 리뷰 (Review on Security Communication Environment in Intelligent Vehicle Transport System)

  • 본 논문에서는 연구목적과 관련하여, 협업 지능형교통체계와 자율주행체계에 관심을 가지고 있으며, C-ITS 특성 가운데 핵심 전달 메시지인 CAM과 DENM 특성 분석, 또한 V2X 통신의 보안 특성과 함께 CAM 및 DENM 메시지의 보안 인증서 및 헤더 구조를 중심으로 분석에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 연구방법에 대해, 우리는 CAM 메시지인 차량의 위치와 상태를 알리는 메시지를 분석하고, DENM 메시지인 차량 사고와 같은 이벤트를 알리는 메시지를 분석하고, 이를 지원하는 보안통신 특성을 분석한다. 차량통신에 사용하는 보안헤더와 인증서 형식과 함께, 차량용 서명된 인증서 검증 절차, 그리고 차량용PKI 특성을 얻었다. 아울러, V2X 보안통신을 위해 필요로 하는 보안 동기패턴에 대한 특성과 전송능력에 대해서도 함께 유도할 수 있었다. 그러므로 본 논문은 C-ITS 환경에서 DENM 및 CAM을 전송하는 통신 서비스를 위한 보안 특성을 고려할 때 의미 있는 결과라 할 수 있다.

A Study on the Performance Improvement of Message Transmission over MVB(Multifunction Vehicle Bus)

  • The data transmission of MVB(Multifunction Vehicle Bus) of TCN(Train Network Communication) is divided into the periodic transmission phase and the sporadic transmission phase. TCN standard defines the event-polling method for the message transfer in the sporadic phase. However, since the event-polling method does not use pre-scheduling to the priority of the messages to be transmitted, it is inefficient for the real-time systems. To schedule message transmission, a master node should know the priority of message to be transmitted by a slave node prior to the scheduling the sporadic phase, but the existing TCN standard does not support any protocol for this. This paper proposes the slave frame bit-stuffing algorithm, with which a master node gets the necessary information for transmission scheduling and includes the simulation results of the event-polling method and the proposed algorithm.

프로세서 노드 상황을 고려하는 저비용 파이프라인 브로드캐스트 하드웨어 엔진 (Low Cost Hardware Engine of Atomic Pipeline Broadcast Based on Processing Node Status)

  • This paper presents a low cost hardware message passing engine of enhanced atomic pipelined broadcast based on processing node status. In this algorithm, the previous atomic pipelined broadcast algorithm is modified to reduce the waiting time until next broadcast communication. For this, the processor change the transmission order of processing nodes based on the nodes' communication channel. Also, the hardware message passing engine architecture of the proposed algorithm is modified to be adopted to multi-core processor. The synthesized logic area of the proposed hardware message passing engine was reduced by about 16%, compared by the pre-existing hardware message passing engine.

  • WAVE 시스템에서는 통신 보안 기능을 지원하기 위해 IEEE Std 1609.2 규격이 정의되었다. IEEE Std 1609.2에서는 자동차 통신에서의 보안 서비스 및 관리 메시지의 구조를 ASN.1으로 정의하였다. 또한 이 메시지 구조를 COER 방식으로 인코딩하도록 하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IEEE Std 1609.2에 정의된 보안 메시지를 처리하는 IEEE Std 1609.2 메시지 인코더/디코더를 설계 및 구현하였다. 설계된 인코더/디코더는 IEEE Std 1609.2 메시지 구조에 부합하는 C 언어 데이터 구조의 메시지를 생성하는 모듈, 메시지 인코더 모듈, 메시지 디코더 모듈로 구성되며, 리눅스 환경에서 구현되었다. 또한 구현된 인코더/디코더의 수행 속도를 측정하여 그 성능을 분석하였다.

  • To maximize performance in a high-performance multicore processor system. it is essential to enable effective data communication between processing cores. Data communication between processor nodes can be broadly classified into collective and point-to-point communications. Collective communication comprises scattering and gathering. This paper presents a efficient message scattering and gathering based on processing node status. In the proposed algorithms, the transmission order is changed according to the data size of the pre-existing communication, to reduce the waiting time required until the collective communications begin. From the simulation, the performances of the proposed message scattering and gathering algorithms were improved by approximately 71.41% and 69.84%.

온라인 구전의 긍정 또는 부정 제시 순서에 따른 커뮤니케이션 효과 (Research on the difference of verbal effect on sequences of positive indication and negative indication of verbal message : Based on replies on shopping mall)

  • Previous research on negative contents of verbal message being more influential has a two broad streams as impression formation theory and negative information having an more diagnostic informational value. Therefore, this research was intended to obtain consistent results from researches by message frame segmentation of verbal message and to determine the medium of verbal message. It was proven from the research that objects influencing verbal message are being effected by the participation ratio of products and the positive indication is having more meaningful difference than the negative indication statistically unlike to the results of previous researches. Unlike just a biased positive message or negative message as the result of previous research, it was proven that the positive indication is influential regardless of sequences according to participation ratio and site participation in case of positive and negative being existing together.

개인정보 유출 방지를 위한 NFC 기반 GCM 서비스를 이용한 차량 상황 알림 시스템 개발 (Development of Vehicle Status Alerts System for Personal Information Leakage Protection using the NFC-based GCM Service)

  • This paper proposes a message transfer application using smartphone with NFC(Near Field Communication) and GCM(Goolge Cloud Messaging) technology for prevention of personal information leakage. In implementing for the proposed system, we design a NFC-based vehicle status alerts service which make it possible to communicate with smartpone message without phone-number between a car driver and an unspecified person. The application provides message communication mechanism without exposing the real phone number, using the NFC tag written with the driver's smartphone device ID and GCM push messages. Through the evaluation result of the actual implemented application, the proposed system can be efficient technology in protection for leakage of personal information such as personal phone- number in daily life.

The Season to Help: The Effect of Seasonal Mood and Gain Versus Loss Advertising Message Framing on Intention to Help Charity

  • There are various researchers who studied the relationship between seasons and feelings. However, only a few did shed light on how these two variables affect decision-making and physical behaviors especially prosocial behavior which emphasize on the benefits of other people and/or society as a whole. Due to a lack of studies on the topic, we investigated whether the combination of seasons and message framing could be useful in eliciting intention to help on an environmental issue. A 3x2 experiment examined the interactions between seasonal mood (summer, winter, controlled) and types of message framing (gain, loss) on future helping intention (volunteer, donation, petition signing). The findings suggest that in normal circumstances where seasonal mood were not applied, gain message framing was more effective in promoting higher intention to sign a petition than loss message framing. However, when thinking of winter, loss message framing has greater ability to do so than gain message framing. Moreover, seasons and mood are found to be associated with a higher positive mood in summer and a negative mood in winter. Lastly, limitations and implications are discussed.
