The representative study of Patellofemoral Joint Merchant method can show the view for inspection of the sulcus angle, congruence angle and diagnose whether there are the vertical fractures and recognize the degree of dislocation and patella subluxation. However, anatomical correlation about the degree of knee joint curvature changes during position adjustment and distortion of the image reduces reproducibility. In order to resolve these problems, Merchant method needs to use assisting device which reduces the occurrence of repeat projection and effectively to increase unification of examination and the consistency of the image. However, there are disadvantages for patients who take other examinations. For example, they have to change the position for every examination and it might cause the patient's discomfort and increase of examination time. In this study, we newly devised commercial assisting device which improves the reproducibility of the images and reduces inconvenience of patients movement. Further research should be taken to obtain a image without patient's movement and to reduce the time of the examination than existing method.

This study aimed to found out the effect of patellofemoral overlap distance by changing femur thickness and center X-ray angles in Merchant method images. Based on the femur thickness, it suggested tube angle minimizes overlap. It was conducted by Merchant method, a knee tangential view, and the image was obtained by changing the thigh thickness from 14 to 20 cm and the center ray angle from 60°, 57°, 55°. The images were measured by five researchers using a method of measuring the overlap, which was designed by them. The results showed at 60°, 57°, 55° angle, the patellofemoral overlap distance resulted in 0.47±0.66 to 20.89±0.65 cm, 2.26±0.28 to 15.73±0.62 cm, 1.39 ± 0.83 to 12.49 ± 0.37 cm. However, for 57° and 55°, no overlap in thickness under 14.5 and 14 to 15.5 didn't appear. it showed high correlation between femur thickness and overlap. The difference in the mean value of overlap in each group showed a statistically significant difference (p<0.01), all were classified as independent groups in the post-hoc test. In all images, the patellofemoral overlap distance increased as the thickness increased, and at the average thickness of Korean men and women, overlap decreased when reducing center ray. When conducting Merchant tests on Koreans, it was suggested it would be useful to use 57° angle because it minimize the effects of overlap and intrusions of tibia.

슬관절 후방십자인대 손상이 의심되는 응급환자의 슬대퇴 관절을 촬영하기 위한 보조기구를 제작하고 그 유용성을 평가하고자 하였다. 실험 방법은 2006년 1월부터 2006년 12월까지 슬관절 손상으로 을지대학병원에 내원한 환자 중 후방십자인대 손상 의증으로 Knee post stress view와 Knee Merchant view 그리고 보조기구를 이용한 Knee post stress view를 모두 촬영하고, 무릎 MRI(Knee MRI)검사를 시행한 17명을 대상으로 하였다. $170{\times}50{\times}70\;cm$의 보조 기구를 제작하였으며 Knee post stress view와 보조기구를 이용한 Knee Seo's view에서 경골의 후방전위 간격을 측정하여 유용성을 평가하였다. 그 결과 보조기구를 이용한 Knee Seo's view가 기존의 Knee post stress view에 비해 후방십자인대 손상 여부의 판단이 더 정확한 것으로 나타났다. 기존 촬영법의 경골 후방전위 간격 차이는 $6.17{\pm}3.04$이었으며, 보조기구를 이용한 촬영법의 경골 후방전위 간격 차이는 $8.74{\pm}4.47$이었다. 결론적으로 자체 제작 보조기구를 이용한 슬대퇴 관절 촬영법은 기존에 슬관절면 손상을 보기 위한 Knee Merchant view와 후방십자인대 손상을 보기 위한 Knee post stress view를 동시에 1회 촬영으로 끝낼 수 있었으며, 기존의 Knee post stress view 보다 후방십자인대 손상 여부를 보다 정확하게 알 수 있었다. 따라서 후방십자인대 및 슬대퇴 관절 손상이 의심되는 응급환자에서 talometer나 MRI 검사의 선행 검사로 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

The research aims to help merchant acquiring institutions gain a better insight on what merchant establishments in the Singapore market perceive of the costs they incur due to credit card acceptance. The research attempts to study the Singapore market and establish if increased credit card usage does increase costs for the merchant establishments that accept credit cards, this will help to acquire institutions in Singapore have a better understanding of merchant perceptions and what drives or deters credit card acceptance in the Singapore market. The survey was based on an interview of merchant establishments and the views of the merchants and was not based on their financial data. As a first step, the variables used in the survey were tested for interdependence using Chi-square tests; subsequently data reduction using factor analysis was performed and finally linear regression to establish a relation between dependent and independent variables. Merchant establishment believe accepting credit cards and increasing volume is costlier compared to another form of payment, but have mixed awareness about interchange fee. It also indicated that interchange fee and cardholder benefits are independent of the merchant establishments. The study only broadly attempts to gauge merchants view if increased credit card usage has increased costs for them.

The Precise measurement of the knee's Congruence angle is required for diagnosis of patella dislocation. The purpose of this study is to consider the distortion diagram and usefulness about the test of the bilateral side and one side through the evaluating congruence angle from Merchant view of patellofemoral joint to central X-ray. We've evaluated the sulcus angle and Congruence angle following central X-ray's changes when we took Merchant view of patellofemoral joint aimed to right lower limb from human whole body phantom. The subject of the evaluation was classified as normal group and varus group, and the varus group has experimented with External rotation of legs as 15° and 30°. When normal groups result as 0, 7.5, 15 cm, it was measured as 17.25 ± 1.34°, 19.60 ± 1.41°, 20.55 ± 1.77° each. The gap between minimal and maximum angle was 3.3°, and the value was shown as getting bigger when it further away from the centeral X-ray. When Congruence angle in 15° varus group was 0, 7.5, 15 cm, it was each 16.45 ± 1.34°, 17.10 ± 0.99°, 17.80 ± 1.13°. And when Congruence angle in 30° varus group was 0, 7.5, 15 cm, it was measured each 18.35 ± 1.63°, 18.95 ± 1.06°, 19.60 ± 1.41°. The difference between minimum and maximum of angle in 15° varus group and 30° varus group was each 1.35° and 1.25°, the angles have shown as increasing the further away from the center. The patellofemoral joint showed that the congruence angle increases as the further away from Central X-ray, and also it is judged that is possible to change the congruence angle by a degree of varus knee. Thus, accurate measurement of the congruence angle is shown to advantage that methods for examining by split each side at two times than methods for examining both sides at a time. Therefore, it is expected to helpful on the diagnostic side of patella dislocation and subluxation.

The world's nuclear powered ships have been reviewed mainly based on development of the marine nuclear reactor and the present trends of nuclear warships and merchant ships in the world. In particular, emphasis was on the four nonmilitary nuclear ships, Russian Ice breaker Lenin, American Cargo-passenger ship Savannah, German Ore carrier Otto Hahn, and Japanese Cargo ship Mutsu. They are the only civilian nuclear ships which have entered service at the present time in the world. The nuclear fleets in United States, United Kingdom, Soviet, and France were described in view of historical development and the present stock of the nuclear ships. The present projects and the future trends for the nuclear merchant ships in the main shipbuilding countries have been also discussed. The nuclear fission and reactor were briefly discussed in the beginning of this article.
