Chatbot UX in a Mobile Environment (모바일 환경에서의 챗봇 UX)

  • In many businesses, chatbots enhance the user experience by providing the most immediate and direct feedback to user questions. The area of use of chatbots is growing. In this study, the three types of chatbot definition, command method, function, and platform are classified according to their distinct factors. In the process, the functional delimiter element is necessary for the Chatbot UX, which is a key technical element of the functional part of pattern recognition, natural language processing, semantic web, text mining, and context-aware computing. However, the limitations at this stage were also known. Based on this, we analyzed the chatbot's UX elements for Facebook, Skype, Telegram, and Google Assistant for a better user experience. Basic UI elements such as cards, quick response, command, and application of persistent menus are needed as user experience elements.

Development of a Programming System for Sequential Control Using a Graphic Organization Language (그래픽 조직 언어를 이용한 순차 제어용 프로그래밍 시스템 개발)

  • PLCs are vital components of modern automation systems, which have penetrated into almost every industry. Many industries have a demand for facilitation of PLC programming. In this study, a programning system for sequential control is developed on a personal computer. This programming system consists of two main parts, a GRAFCET editor and a GRAFCET compiler. The GRAFCET editor enables us to model an actual sequential process by a GRAFCET diagram. This GRAFCET editor is developed by the menu-driven method based on specific menus and graphic symbols. The GRAFCET compiler consists of two parts, a GRAFCET parser and a code generator. The possible errors in a drawn GRAFCET diagram are first checked by the GRAFCET parser which generates finally an intermediate code from a verified CRAFCET diagram. Then the intermediate code is converted into a control code of an actual sequential controller by the code generator. To show the usefulness of this programming system, this system is applied to a pneumatically controlled handling robot. For this robot, a Z-80 microprocessor is used as the actual sequential controller.

Identification of motion error sources in NC machine tools by a circular interpolation test (원호보간시험에 의한 수치제어 공작기계의 운동오차원인 진단에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents an efficient method for the identification of motion error sources in NC machine tools by making use of the circular interpolation test, which is often used in estimating the motion accuracy of NC machine tools. Mathematical formulae are described for motion errors due to various kinds of error sources. Two identification formulae are proposed: one is based on the frequency analysis and the other is formulated with the weithted residual method. Motion error signal is classified into two patterns, mean errors(mean of CW and CCW test signals from mean errors). The sources of the mean errors are identified by using the frequency analysis technique and the sources of the deviation errors by the weighted residual formulaltion. A menu driven, user oriented, computer program is written to realize the full steps of the proposed identificationprocedure. Then, the identification method is applied to two NC machine tools.

  • Taipei Water Management Office (TWMO) is one of the eleven district offices in Water Resource Agency. Water management is the top priority to be pursued both on daily management and long-term management at TWMO. There are five departments to perform a wide range of tasks in addition to water management. All management prescriptions are simply to provide sustainable clean water for about four millions population in Taipei. TWMO has gone through 16 years experience of development and implementation of GIS in water management. The objectives of this paper are to provide the major ingredients of successful and operational GIS for water management. The five departments at TWMO have performed tasks such as city planning, construction management, forest management, land use enforcement, soil and water conservation, water quality monitoring and protection, garbage collection, and sewage disposal management. Data base creation was one of the major jobs to be done. Update of data base has to be done on a daily basis. Computers, its peripheral, and software are essential for GIS developed at TWMO. Know-how and technical skill on computers and GIS for every technician are contributing significantly such that GIS can be implemented on most of jobs performed at TWMO. Implementations of GIS have been pursued by application modules on a task-oriented basis. Application modules are simple, easy to use, and menu driven with only Chinese. Web-based and mobile GIS are the new components that make water management at TWMO stay on the right course. To solve problems encountered in water management by GIS at TWMO can be easily and user-friendly may be the most important experience.

  • In existing public parcel locker, if there is not an empty storage box, it is not used. In existing private parcel locker, because it is a lock-based locker, there is strong weak point in security. To prevent these drawbacks, the proposed private parcel locker has a menu-driven remote control application which is operated on smartphone. The lock release and the security number change by the security number which is stored in the Electrically erasable read-only memory, are possible. As a result, the proposed method has better advantages than the existing methods in terms of unnecessariness of empty storage box check and security by the security number accumulation function and the automatic SMS transmission representing parcel locker operation result.

  • This research aims to develop a voyage performance monitoring system based on international standards. The developed system is equipped with an electronic navigational chart(ENC) that provides onshore and offshore information, as well as supports standardized interfaces with navigational equipment, such as a gyro compass, a differential global positioning system(DGPS), and an automatic identification system(AIS), to monitor the navigation route in real time. In addition, the proposed system adopts a car navigation system to provide a graphical user interface, an intuitive menu-driven configuration, and an easy guide for safer sea navigation. The system, interfaced with the gyro compass and DGPS, was verified without any data loss, and passed a test conducted under extreme conditions by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme(KOLAS). Finally, the system contributes to preventing collision of vessels and minimizing casualties by maximizing the convenience of mariners which a conventional system does not provide.

  • A Hardware system of hybrid environmental control was developed for using it in the multi-greenhouse. Now, an on/off control system is most utilized in protected cultivation, but a hybrid environmental control system is not yet. This system consists of a hardware to be devided by physical elements and a software for the hardware a personal computer, a hybrid environmental control and a communication Program for modules. The hardware was made of several independent modules with independent CPU. Each module was made to slots. which are very convenient to mount and take off. Also, they are managed easily to repair, add, remove, and change of their function and expansion. The software for a personal computer was a menu driven program written in visual basic within a Windows environment for easy applications by a user. The hybrid environmental control software have operating factors operate continuously with temperature, humidity and others in greenhouse. Communication programs were used both 485 communication method for long distance communication between modules and CRC communication method for making easy to program, and less errors between personal computer and modules.

  • Recently, stereotactic radiosurgery plan is required with the information of 3-D image and dose distribution. A project has been doing if developing LINAC based stereotactic radiosurgery since April 1991. The purpose of this research is to develop 3-D radiosurgery planning system using personal computer. The procedure of this research is based on two steps. The first step is to develop 3-D localization system, which input the image information of the patient, coordinate transformation, the position and shape of target, and patient contour into computer system using CT image and stereotactic frame. The second step is to develop 3-D dose planning system, which compute dose distribution on image plane, display on high resolution monitor both isodose distribution and patient image simultaneously and develop menu-driven planning system. This prototype of radiosurgery planning system was applied recently for several clinical cases. It was shown that our planning system is fast, accurate and efficient while making it possible to handle various kinds of image modalities such as angiography, CT and MRI. It makes it possible to develop general 3-D planning system using beam's eye view or CT simulation in radiation therapy in future.

A Study on the Evaluation of the Mobile Web Accessibility of Public Library Services (공공도서관 모바일 웹 접근성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze mobile web accessibility of public libraries. To achieve this, accessibility checklists were driven from mobile web and application guidelines. The study also conducted automatic and manual evaluations. As results, the study found that text alternatives for resource image, main menu, image for text contents were mainly missing. In addition, focus for retrieval, operating system accessibility for retrieval, and id & password label, color difference for library calendar and seat reservation, brightness difference for main manu and resource display, and space between controls for retrieval were mainly missing. The study also suggested focal missing areas for main library services. It will be utilized as checklists for development of mobile services.

  • When using a computer vision system for a measurement, the geometrically distorted input image usually restricts the site and size of the measuring window. A geometrically distorted image caused by the image sensing and processing hardware degrades the accuracy of the visual measurement and prohibits the arbitrary selection of the measuring scope. Therefore, an image calibration is inevitable to improve the measuring accuracy. A calibration process is usually done via four steps such as measurement, modeling, parameter estimation, and compensation. In this paper, the efficient error calibration technique of a geometrically distorted input image was developed using a neural network. After calibrating a unit pixel, the distorted image was compensated by training CMLAN(Cerebellar Model Linear Associator Network) without modeling the behavior of any system element. The input/output training pairs for the network was obtained by processing the image of the devised sampled pattern. The generalization property of the network successfully compensates the distortion errors of the untrained arbitrary pixel points on the image space. The error convergence of the trained network with respect to the network control parameters were also presented. The compensated image through the network was then post processed using a simple DDA(Digital Differential Analyzer) to avoid the pixel disconnectivity. The compensation effect was verified using known sized geometric primitives. A way to extract directly a real scaled geometric quantity of the object from the 8-directional chain coding was also devised and coded. Since the developed calibration algorithm does not require any knowledge of modeling system elements and estimating parameters, it can be applied simply to any image processing system. Furthermore, it efficiently enhances the measurement accuracy and allows the arbitrary sizing and locating of the measuring window. The applied and developed algorithms were coded as a menu driven way using MS-C language Ver. 6.0, PC VISION PLUS library functions, and VGA graphic functions.
