  • Purpose: The main objective of this research is to encourage the increase of local MSME businesses through the sustainable tourism sector in South Sulawesi by proposing a research model that focuses on increasing revisit intention. This, in turn, is expected to stimulate local trade and strengthen tourism attractiveness. Research design, data and methodology: A quantitative research method involving 190 domestic tourist respondents was employed, utilizing a questionnaire for data collection. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis through AMOS software was applied, and the Sobel test to assess indirect effects. Results: The research findings indicate that memorable customer experiences and travel motivations significantly influence destination image. However, travel motivation does not significantly affect revisit intention. Furthermore, memorable customer experiences and destination image significantly impact revisit intention. Notably, destination image plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between travel motivation and increased revisit intention. Conclusions: Memorable customer experiences and travel motivations directly contribute to the formation of a more positive destination image. Furthermore, memorable customer experiences drive the revisit intention, but travel motivation is not significant. Memorable customer experiences only influence revisit intention through the formed destination image. Additionally, the improvement of memorable customer experience and destination image increased revisit intention.

  • Purpose: Although many studies have addressed destination marketing concepts, the relationship between beach tourists' memorable tourism experience (MTE), revisit intention and electronic word of mouth (eWOM) remains unknown. To address this issue, the authors established a model to investigate the effects of MTE's dimensions on revisit intention and eWOM. Research design, data and methodology: Drawing on 581 questionnaires from domestic beach tourists in Vietnam, a quantitative study approach was administered to empirically analyze a partial least squares path model in PLS-SEM. Results: The findings revealed that four dimensions of MTE including hedonism, local culture, meaningfulness and involvement have positive influence on beach tourists' revisit intention. Besides, meaningfulness and knowledge directly affect eWOM. It is worth noting that beach tourists' revisit intention significantly and directly influence their eWOM. The findings also confirm the indirect effects of hedonism, local culture, meaningfulness and involvement on eWOM through the mediating role of revisit intention. Conclusions: This study will be important to determine beach tourists' behavior through each dimension of MTE. This study also emphasizes on the direct effect of beach tourists' revisit intention on eWOM, as well as confirms its mediating role in the relation between MTE and eWOM. The findings will assist policymakers and destination marketers with strategies and effective future actions.

  • Purpose Recently, the tours and activities (TAA) market provided by online travel agencies (OTA) has grown rapidly and has become the third-largest in the travel industry. However, compared to its practical proliferation, TAA has not yet received much academic attention. This study aims to discuss the effect of the four domains (e.g., educational, entertainment, escapist, and esthetic experiences) of the experience economy on users' memorable tourism experiences (MTE), satisfaction, and loyalty in the context of TAA. Moreover, the study investigates how this mechanism varies depending on the tour guides' professional competency. Design/methodology/approach This study developed a research model based on the S-O-R framework. Using the survey method, data were collected from consumers who had experienced TAA offered by OTA more than once within one year. A total of 307 respondents (consumers) were used for the final analysis, and developed hypotheses were tested using a structural equation model technique. Findings The results of this study are as follows. First, educational, entertainment, and escapism experiences in the experience economy positively affect MTE. Second, within the experience economy, entertainment and esthetic experiences have a positive effect on satisfaction. Third, MTE positively influences satisfaction, repurchase intention, and recommendation intention. Fourth, satisfaction has a positive impact on repurchase and recommendation intentions. Finally, according to the level of tour guides' professional competency, there is a significant difference in the effect of escapism experience on MTE/satisfaction.

  • This study analyzes and examines the travel behavior of Chinese people in Korea through a questionnaire survey of Chinese people who are long-term residents in Korea using Xiaohongshu App (RED). In this study, we add some variables to the MTEs (Memorable Tourism Experiences) model to analyze the travel behavior of Chinese people who are in Korea for a long period of time. We also chose to survey the users of Xiaohongshu App (RED), a popular software in recent years, and found the following findings in 240 valid questionnaires: (1) Scenery, Entertainment, and Informativeness have positive effects on people sharing travel experiences, while interaction does not. (2) Sharing travel experiences had a positive effect on travel satisfaction and the intention to go to other destinations, and travel satisfaction had a positive effect on the intention to go to other destinations. This paper extends the literature on tourism by combining MTEs and UGC (User-Generated Content) models, and also provides relevant suggestions for further research on the travel behavior of foreigners in Korea.

More specifically, the study evaluates whether consumers enjoy the flow of fashion brands' SNS accounts and form purchase intentions through their aesthetic experiences and product placement. Through a survey, empirical testing was done to investigate the effect of the aesthetic experience on of flow and purchase intentions. The current study tests the interaction effect among perceived aesthetic experience, narrative images, and product placement employing 2×2×2 MANOVA. The findings herein reveal that the aesthetic experience affects flow and purchase intention, and that there is a statistically significant interaction effect between aesthetic experience, narrative images, and product placement.

  • Due to recent developments in smartphones, lifestyles centred around their use are rapidly changing across many societal areas. Mobility apps, widely used by a large number of people, have also become popular among tourists for travel purposes. This trend is exemplified by the premium taxi industry, which champions smart mobility services-an essential component of smart tourism-to attract tourists as customers. This study investigates how smart mobility service attributes influence memorable user experiences from the perspective of both residents and tourists. It also examines the consequent image of smart mobility and users' intentions to reuse these services. To this end, a survey and analysis were conducted with 320 registered customers of domestic premium taxi companies, which are expanding their services to cater to both residents and tourists. The analysis confirmed all hypotheses. Among the attributes of smart mobility, involvement played a crucial role in shaping the image of smart mobility, more so than refreshment or novelty. Furthermore, the image of smart mobility significantly impacted the intention to reuse it. Based on these findings, this study presents practical implications regarding which empirical factors should be managed from a smart mobility perspective to foster a positive image and encourage reuse.
