Construction of Local Terminology Dictionary in NM Imaging Report Forms

  • It is difficult to settle the well-designed local terminology for imaging report in the hospital information system (HIS). One of the major reasons is the local terminology with poor contents have been used in the hospital. Thus, we mapped the locally used terms in nuclear medicine imaging report to the SNOMED-CT, which had been widely used in the electronic medical record system, for implementation of hospital information system. Preliminary construction of terminology dictionary was done by mapping of local terms to SNOMED-CT and LexCare Suite. Further study may be warranted.

Analysis of Abdominal Trauma Patients Using National Emergency Department Information System

  • Purpose: To develop an inclusive and sustainable trauma system as the assessment of burden of injuries is very much important. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the estimates and characteristics of abdominal traumatic injuries. Methods: The data were extracted from the National Emergency Department Information System. Based on Korean Standard Classification for Disease 6th version, which is the Korean version of International Classification of Disease 10th revision, abdominal injuries were identified and abdominal surgeries were evaluated with electronic data interchange codes. Demographic factors, numbers of surgeries and clinical outcomes were also investigated. Results: From 2011 to 2014, about 24,696 patients with abdominal trauma were admitted to the hospitals annually in South Korea. The number of patients who were admitted to regional and local emergency medical centers was 8,622 (34.91%) and 15,564(63.02%), respectively. Based on National Emergency Department Information System, liver was identified as the most commonly injured abdominal solid organ (39.50%, 9,754/24,696, followed by spleen (17.57%, 4,338/24,696) and kidney (12.94%, 3,195/24,696). Conclusion: This study shows that the demand for abdominal trauma care is considerable in South Korea and most of the patients with abdominal trauma were admitted to regional or local emergency centers. The results of this study can be used as good source of information for staffs to ensure proper delivery of abdominal trauma care in trauma centers nationally.

  • The strength of our country is based on high-speed networks to build a nationwide health information network to improve the quality of health care is needed. However, nature of the medical services in the hospital medical record form, so that all departments characterize each medical department, a common format that can be used for all disease is a very difficult challenge. This study is one of the ways to improve this priority issue on health information sharing medical information system(PACS/HIS) information linkage between the problem of information, compatibility and security issues derived. The problem is derived from the requirements of theorem 3 to 6 items. This is effective in order to improve sharing of medical information for the purpose of designing the software system. Sharing of medical information software system design are derived from stakeholders, requirements analysis, architecture design, software framework, configuration, architecture evaluation process. This study is based on the medical information standardization environmental diagnosis of a medical information system design. Software design philosophy is based on a new framework for deriving the function and mechanism made up.

Implementation and Design of WISD(Web Interface System based DICOM) for Efficient Sharing of Medical Information between Clinics (의료기관간 효과적인 의료정보 공유를 위한 WISD의 설계 및 구현)

  • For efficient compatible system between medical clinics, the medical information has to be built on a standardized protocol such as a HL7 for text data and a DICOM for image data. But it is difficult to exchange information between medical clinics because the systems and softwares are different and also a structure of data and a type of code. Therefore we analyze a structure of DICOM file and design an integrated database for effective information sharing and exchange. The WISD system suggested in this paper separate the DICOM file transmitted by medical clinics to text data and image data and store it in the integrated DB(database) by standardized protocol respectively. It is very efficient that each medical clinic can search and exchange information by web browser using the suggested system. The WISD system can not only search and control of image data and patient information through integrated database and internet, but share medical information without extra charge like construction of new system.

  • In the medical field. the desire of the hospital information system based on the advanced computer technology has been increased because hospital staffs wanted to provide better medical services to their patients by using it. So, the electronic medical records have emerged to share and exchange medical and healthcare information stored in database. In this paper. we developed an electronic medical record system using XML. This system includes four modules : data repository. document structure manager, document writter and XML automatic generator. For the purpose of evaluating the usability of the electronic medical records of our system, we also applied it to out-patient medical records in the department of orthopedic surgery.

  • The rapid development of information technology is also bringing about many changes in the medical environment. In particular, it is leading the rapid change of medical image information systems using big data and artificial intelligence (AI). The prescription delivery system (OCS), which consists of an electronic medical record (EMR) and a medical image storage and transmission system (PACS), has rapidly changed the medical environment from analog to digital. When combined with multiple solutions, PACS represents a new direction for advancement in security, interoperability, efficiency and automation. Among them, the combination with artificial intelligence (AI) using big data that can improve the quality of images is actively progressing. In particular, AI PACS, a system that can assist in reading medical images using deep learning technology, was developed in cooperation with universities and industries and is being used in hospitals. As such, in line with the rapid changes in the medical image information system in the medical environment, structural changes in the medical market and changes in medical policies to cope with them are also necessary. On the other hand, medical image information is based on a digital medical image transmission device (DICOM) format method, and is divided into a tomographic volume image, a volume image, and a cross-sectional image, a two-dimensional image, according to a generation method. In addition, recently, many medical institutions are rushing to introduce the next-generation integrated medical information system by promoting smart hospital services. The next-generation integrated medical information system is built as a solution that integrates EMR, electronic consent, big data, AI, precision medicine, and interworking with external institutions. It aims to realize research. Korea's medical image information system is at a world-class level thanks to advanced IT technology and government policies. In particular, the PACS solution is the only field exporting medical information technology to the world. In this study, along with the analysis of the medical image information system using big data, the current trend was grasped based on the historical background of the introduction of the medical image information system in Korea, and the future development direction was predicted. In the future, based on DICOM big data accumulated over 20 years, we plan to conduct research that can increase the image read rate by using AI and deep learning algorithms.

  • Beginning in 2000, domestic large hospital based integrated health information system has been developed from order communication system to electronic medical record system. However, today's advanced medical information system is integrated with unit of the system because user needs is complex and various. And, the problem is authority management of health information system in complex systems of large size hospital. It is also a serious problem of private information exposure because of user's authority management defect. In this paper, we analyze the problems of past hospital information system and propose an efficient and appropriate management authority in operating environment. It also introduces the instances applied into a large hospital EMR system, developing proper authority management to match the characteristics of the integrated medical information system. The proposed system is based on solutions of authority management system suitable for integrated health information system, as well as the next generation of EMR.

  • J2ME service technology has advantage that can embody independent and, more soft system in DICOM 3.0 and medicine reflex administration server, client′s OS that is medical treatment reflex standard in radio Internet. Specialty, possibility of improvement is much because is connecting being limited in internet environment that medical equipment and information system of various kinds of machine are wire in medical institution and so on. Because do medical treatment reflex transmission module development applying DICOM technology and filtering techniques of "m-PACS" In this research, existence, by interlock in radio usable Mobile reflex conversion system design and embody. That is, patient′s information which is stored to various systems to be transmited and can give big help in medical examination and treatment to reflex client without being wooed doctor′s interpretation result and so on in place through environment to be radish tentacle bar see.

Development of a Work-Related Injury and Illness Monitoring Geographic Information System using Workers' Compensation Insurance Big Data (산재보험 빅데이터를 활용한 산재 모니터링 지리정보시스템 개발)

  • Purpose This study aims to develop a work-related injury and illness monitoring geographic information system that analyzes and visualizes the types of work-related injury and illness based on workers' compensation insurance big data. Design/methodology/approach Using the developed system, we explained the process of monitoring the areas of the applied workplace, medical care application, index, and medical care institution. We also showed examples of analyzing the index and medical care institution area. By applying the system, we can intuitively recognize the current status of workers' compensation insurance and confirm the basic information necessary for managing the current status of workers' compensation insurance. Findings We generated more helpful information by combining workers' compensation insurance data and designated medical care institution data. We were able to apply the severity score and the vulnerability index of work-related injury and illness to the system as a demonstration. To efficiently manage workers' compensation insurance, it was necessary to integrate workers' compensation insurance and designated medical care institution data, as well as the data from various sources.

  • According to a rapid development of medical technology and increasing requirements of the users on prevention and control of diseases, whole healthcare services are changing into user-oriented services. There are many attempts and studies on integrating users' medical information but it is so difficult to implement a true user-oriented medical services because carrying the information from each medical facility to the integrated medical information system involves many conflicts of interests and authentication problems. This paper presents integrated medical information system which provides real-time medical services, allowing the users to be a critical player who can receive the medical information they want from any medical facility on their mobile devices without any change in the form of documents in relation to those issued by that facility and give that information themselves to the system through the mobile devices.
