  • Basic summary of the medical administration : Due to Qing dynasty being the last of the dynastic era, it revealed overall extreme political traits in politics, economy, phenomenon, and cultural aspects. Few emperors of the early Qing dynasty adopted appeasement policy that mitigated ironies to a certain extent and showed growth in various business related fields. Even the medical administration had freshness during that period. United medical administrative system was generally formed, chicken pox was effectively prevented, shamanistic treatment was banned, medical journals were complied by the government, medical relief was more intensely done. However, actions on restoring Ming dynasty and against Qing dynasty as well as the reform power grew against Qing government threatening it. The drastically grown forces from the western region damaged Qing dynasty that the governors had to adopt despotic measures in politics, economy and culture. Social chaos began to arise, economy stagnated and weakened that the medical field also dwindled to the point where it could not be restored to the original point. The era of Qing dynasty was the period that had scientific culture at its fast growing pace, but for Chinese medicine, by contrary, due to autocracy and other factors, was faced with barriers in the medical development.

  • Objective : The current wuiwan poses a challenge in understanding related disease because one term refers to many different parts. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to review historical documents and define the areas of wuiwan revolving around the wuiwan-related disease. Method : The Sikuquanshu database, Traditional Chinese Medical(TCM) books webdatabase were studied, and selections were made from the texts that discussed wuiwan. Result & Conclusion : The term wuiwan is used to refer to stomach's capacity. The word wuiwan is first discovered in Neijing. wuiwan-related disease as shown in Neijing does not move beyond the scope of stomach. The view of seeing wuiwan as part of esophagus is discovered in the text which explains dysphagia, and it is believed that this expression was used in the purpose of pointing the airway and the esphagus. Therefore, the reason wuiwan was viwed as esophagus has to be confined within the texts in documents that explain dysphagia or within the Four-Constitution Medicine. Generally, it is more reasonable to see wuiwan within the scope of stomach.

  • Objectives : This paper aims to examine the overall form of the 『Yosandangsinjipeuibangkeumnangjibo』 (『Yosandang』). Methods : The table of contents, organization of the body, citations in the 『Yosandang』 were examined, then compared to the organization of 『Donguibogam』 (『Bogam』) and 『Jejungsinpyeon』 (『Jejung』). Results & Conclusions : Based on the organization of the body, it could be determined that Byun Gwangwon referenced 『Bogam』 and 『Jejung』. However, it was found that 『Yosandang』 strived to be more faithful to the 『Bogam』 than the 『Jejung』 while it also tried to minimize the complicatedness of 『Bogam』. Its organization was unique in that it created new chapters and added contents. Also, through examination of the citations, it could be assumed that those in the 『Yosandang』 were secondary citations of the 『Bogam』 and 『Jejung』. Despite these features, it also cited the 『Zhengzhizhunsheng』 and showed efforts to include new knowledge with citation labels such as '新增[newly added]' '自述[original writing]' and 'Yosan(樂山)'. Discussion : The findings of the comparison and examination process of the organization and citations of the book revealed that the uniqueness of the organization of 『Yosandang』 is most obvious in the pediatrics chapter. This indicates that the author's intention was to deal with pediatric diseases professionally.

Methods : The therapeutic properties of Daoyin were examined in medical texts, after which the movements and effects of the Spleen Daoyin Method were analyzed. Based on relevant contents in the Donguibogam, symptoms and diseases for application of the Spleen Daoyin Method were studied to suggest further clinical application possibilities. Results & Conclusions : Daoyin manages the body by treating diseases, while keeping the Shen intact to manage the mind. In the case of the Five Zhang Daoyin Method, its therapeutic nature is clear as the target is focused on the Five Zhang. The Spleen Daoyin Method is mostly comprised of two movements that enable overall restoration and improvement of the Spleen function. Therefore, it could be applied in cases of Spleen-Stomach diseases where there is functional damage.

  • "Donguibogam(東醫寶鑑)" is published in 1613 in Joseon(朝鮮) Dynasty, and reprinted many times in Korea, China and Japan. After publication of Donguibogam, Donguibogam became a base of Korean Medical development. Until now, Korean Oriental medical doctors make the most use of Donguibogam in clinical medicine. Donguibogam Sinhyeongjangbudo(身形藏府圖) represents Heojun(許浚)'s medical view, but there were not enough research about it. In oriental medical development, Taoism and Medicine interact each other and develop into higher grade. We searched Taoistic human body figures and medical ones which appeared before Donguibogam. We compared Donguibogam Sinhyeongjangbudo(身形藏府圖) with other figures and revealed the special features of it. Donguibogam Sinhyeongjangbudo is one of medical human body figures, but it has Taoistic features. Heojun(許浚) located Sinhyeongjangbudo at the opening of Donguibogam, and represented his medical point of view. Heojun laid emphasis on Taoistic training more than medical care in Donguibogam, and this thought is expressed in introduction of Donguibogam. Donguibogam Sinhyeongjangbudo shows Heojun(許浚)'s exact view.
