As age distributions of developed countries grow increasingly top-heavy with elderly, instances of bronchiectasis and pneumonia increase. An elderly patient was diagnosed with pneumonia by radiational examination, which showed pound glass opacity in the right middle lobe. Also, he was diagnosed with bronchiectasis in the honeycomb-like recticular area of the right lower lobe. He said that he was suffering from a cough, phlegm and general weakness. He was treated by oriental medicine treatment exclusively, through herbal medicine and acupuncture therapy. Yukmijihwabg-Tang(六味地黃湯), Gamijinhae-Tang(加味鎭咳湯), and Samchulbobi-Tang(參朮補脾湯) As a result, symptoms of cough phlegm and general weakness improved considerably. These results suggest that oriental medicine treatment is effective in improving quality of life fer chronic respiratory patients.
This study is aimed to assess the general population's attitude toward the continuity of medical care and its related factors. Self administered questionnaire was performed on the 1,120 office workers in the C city, Gang-won province. The questionnaire included the attitude of the continuity of medical institute, the intention of medical service use on a given case, and the variables of the related factors. 58.8% of the total respondents agreed to sustaining treatment without changing medical institutes; on the other hand, 41.2% showed negative attitude. In case that a patient would gain a recommendation of a surgery, hospitalization, or a specific examination, the total respondents' 84.9%, 61.8%, and 50.8% of each recommended situation said that they would visit another doctor and gain a diagnosis. As a result of multiple logistic analysis of determinant factor on continuity, reliability of doctors was statistically significant factor. In order to reduce wastefully used medical resources and offer well-qualified medical service, a system of second opinion among peer group or beforehand agreement could be possibly adopted. In addition, improving the image and reliability of a doctor could be an important factor to make better the behavior of medical service shopping; therefore, an effort to improve the relationship between a doctor and a patient, and restore the reliability of doctors should be paralleled.

Leiomyoma of the trachea is a very rare tumor, and the tracheal tumor is frequently misdiagnosed and treated as bronchial asthma. We report here a case of leiomyoma of the trachea which was successfully resected. A 40-year-old woman has sufferred from a repeated episode of asthmatic attack for two years. Intensive therapy for asthma had no beneficial effect on her respiratory symptoms, and wheezing and stridor did not disappear. Chest CT and bronchoscopy revealed a pedunculated mass on the trachea just above the carina. Wedge resection of the trachea and right main stem bronchus including the tumor and end-to-end anastomosis was performed. The result of the pathologic examination of the tumor was tracheal leiomyoma. Her postoperative course was uneventful and postoperative bronchoscopic findings showed clear healing of the anastomosis site.
Objective : This study was aimed to reassess the scope of practice for medical personnel based on laws. Method : The law specifying the scope of practice for medical personnel has been selected searching Korean Law Information Center(https://www.law.gov.kr). The result was categorized as 'examination, diagnosis, treatment, procedure, prescription, and others'. Results : The laws related to medical procedures were divided into three categories: diagnosis, treatments, and public health and others. In the field of diagnosis, traditional Korean medicine practitioners are generally allowed to play a role. However, some laws specify that only medical doctors can be the primary authorities for diagnosing infectious diseases. In the area of treatments, particularly in emergency medical situations, only medical doctors or nurses are typically mentioned. There are debates in the field of public health and other areas concerning issues such as vaccination, disability diagnosis, and the qualifications for health center directors. A reevaluation is also needed for the Occupational Safety and Health Act, where only medical doctors are set as the personnel standard for workers' health examinations. Conclusion : To safeguard and promote the health of the citizens, there is a need for a clear definition of the licensure and scope of practice for healthcare professionals. Consistent interpretation of conflicting provisions among various laws and clear criteria for the term 'physician' in legal contexts are essential.
Necessity of adjustment in level of difficulty of national examination for radiological technologists is being brought up. However, objective reasons are required to make those arguments more valid. Therefore in this research, result of national examination for radiological technologists under present system was analyzed in more convergence perspective via statistical analysis. This will provide basic data which is applicable when system of national examination for radiological technologists undergo improvements. For this, statistical analysis such as descriptive statistics and correlation analysis was conducted using SPSS program. Results are as follow. First, ratio of successful applicants for radiological technologists was highly fluctuant relative to other national examinations like doctor, nurse, physical therapist, etc. Second, level of difficulty and discernment of national examination for radiological technologists were differentiated from other examinations like doctor, nurse, physical therapist. Third, the 43th examination for radiological technologists conducted in 2015 had the highest discernment as 0.41, despite of lowest level of difficulty as 89.2, for radiologic applications. The results of this research is expected to be used as basic data when system of national examination for radiological technologists undergo improvements, in accordance with increased supplying plan of work-forces in medical radiological technologists.
In this study, the actual condition of ultrasound examination was conducted for radiological technologist working across the country. The measuring tool of the study was a questionnaire, and it was targeted to radiological technologist engaged in ultrasound examination at medical institutions located across the country from February 01 to July 31, 2021. In consideration of the COVID-19 situation, 431 questionnaires suitable for research were analyzed using the SPSS/PC Ver 18.0 program using email and SNS in a non-face-to-face manner. The general characteristics of study subjects, ultrasound examination job characteristics, and job satisfaction factors were analyzed using descriptive statistics. As a result of analyzing the job characteristics of radiological technologist who perform ultrasound examination as overall job satisfaction, the overall job satisfaction was 3.30 ± 0.56. The job satisfaction level of radiological technologist performing ultrasound examinations was higher than the average of 3.0 points, indicating a higher job satisfaction level than the average. Since insurance coverage for ultrasound examinations started, many radiological technologists have been very interested in ultrasound examination work. Therefore, the Korean radiological technologists of Association and radiological technolgists engaged in ultrasound examination more attention and effort should be put into strengthening professionalism.

A research project was conducted to study work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) at subway train repair plant in Korea. The project was consisted of 4 main parts; education on the topics of MSDs for all workers, symptom survey, medical check-up, investigation of MSD risk factors. The result of symptom survey showed that 95.2% of the respondents complained pains on at least one part of the body. After cross-sectional analysis of various information and risk factors, 86.8% of respondents were considered as active health surveillance level 1 that require continuous monitoring on their symptoms and working conditions. And 57.1% of the respondents were considered as active health surveillance level 2 that needed medical check-ups for proper medical treatment. The analysis of occupational risk factors revealed that handling of heavy object (46.15%) and repeated awkward postures (46.15%) were two most contributing risk factors for the on-set of MSD at this work site followed by static strain (7.7%), and vibration and impact (3.8%). Medical examination was performed by an industrial medicine MD on 156 workers those considered as active health surveillance level 2. The result showed that 35 workers (20.7%) were considered as MSD patient group at severe level, and 68.6 workers (68.6%) were considered as moderate group and 18 workers (10.6%) were considered minor or normal group those have no symptom.
In order to reduce the radiation exposure dose of the patient and to obtain accurate diagnosis results, the quality control of the diagnostic radiation generator must be conducted periodically In particular, bone density test equipment could be influenced by many factors, and it is far more important because inaccurate measurement would eventually affect the result value. However, the cross-correction phantom of DXA equipment is poorly penetrated due to lack of awareness of the industry and the high cost. Therefore, this study developed a BMD phantom using a 3D printer and Korean BMD phantom with low cost by cross analyzing Korean BMD value from The Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and evaluated it. The L1, L2, and L3 BMD values of phantoms produced with the 3D printer were measured to be $0.887{\pm}0.006g/cm^2$, $0.927{\pm}0.006g/cm^2$, and $0.960{\pm}0.005g/cm^2$, at 215 mm height and $0.882{\pm}0.011g/cm^2$, $0.914{\pm}0.005g/cm^2$, $0.933{\pm}0.008g/cm^2$ at 155 mm height displaying statistically significant relevance. The result suggests that a proper quality control and cross calibration of DXA device be possible and expected to be an essential data for various medical phantom manufacture development using 3D printer.
Background: Today, survival rate of patients with chronic renal failure/hemodialysis has increased so that chronic illnesses are more likely to occur. Cancer is the main cause of morbidity and mortality in such patients. Aim: In this study, physician attitudes were examined about cancer screening in patients with renal failure. Materials and Methods: This study was done by face to face questionnaire in the $27^{th}$ National Nephrology Congress to determine if the physicians dealing with chronic renal failure, hemodialysis or renal transplanted patients, recommend cancer screening or not and the methods of screening for cervix, prostate, breast and colon cancer. Results: One hundred and fifty six physicians were included in the survey. A total of 105 (67%) participants were male and the age of responders was $48{\pm}9$ years. About 29% were specialists in nephrology, 28% internal medicine, and 5% were other areas of expertise. Some 48% of participants were hemodialysis certified general practitioners. Patients were grouped as compensated chronic renal failure, hemodialysis or renal transplanted. Of the 156 responders, 128 (82%) physicians recommended breast cancer screening and the most recommended subgroup was hemodialysis patients (15%). The most preferred methods of screening were combinations of mammography, self breast examination and physicianbreast examination. 112 (72%) physicians recommended cervix cancer screening, and the most preferred method of screening was pap-smear. Colon cancer screening was recommended by 102 (65%) physicians and prostate screening by 109 (70%) physicians. The most preferred methods of screening were fecal occult blood test and PSA plus rectal digital test, respectively. Conclusions: It is not obvious whether cancer screening in renal failure patients is different from the rest of society. There is a variety of screening methods. An answer can be found to these questions as a result of studies by a common follow-up protocol and cooperation of nephrologists and oncologists.

Objective : The aim of this study was to compare the sociodemographic characteristics, depression, quality of life, and unmet medical need in elders with and without limitation of activity by aging or dementia. Method : The data were used for raw data of seventh national health and nutrition examination survey (2016). We compared sociodemographic characteristics, depression, quality of life, and unmet medical needs between elders with limitation of activity by aging or dementia (n = 32) and elders without limitation of activity (n = 1201). Result : Elders with limitation of activity were significantly older than elders without limitation of activity (p<.001), income was lower (p<.05) and married status had more bereavement (p<.001). The elders with limitation of activity had higher depression (p<.001) and lower quality of life (p<.001) than elders without limitation of activity. Unmet medical need was greater than elders without limitation of activity (p<.001). Conclusion : Elders with limitation of activity showed that they did not receive enough medical services than elders without limitation of activity. These results suggest that the welfare system for the health care of population with aging or dementia needs to be improved.
