The purpose of this paper is to analyze educational theories and practices represented in the movie Dangerous Minds. This paper begins by giving the overview of the movie. Then this paper makes an analysis of the pedagogical methods and practices used by the teacher in the movie, which can encourage students to fulfill their academic success and social mobility. The lives of students at risk are transformed through the teacher's beliefs and pedagogical practices based on the constructivism, leading students on a path of selfdiscovery and self-empowerment. What is imperative in the students' lives here is their intrinsic motivation and self-efficacy toward the self and their educational system. By providing constructivist pedagogical paradigms and viewing these media texts within the context of an urban school, this paper intends to introduce educational theories and methods which can create better educational environment for students. In short, this study explores teaching theories and methods represented in the movie based on the constructivist perspectives, which are supposed to fully cultivate the potential of students.

This study examines A-list users in the Twitter network of National Assembly members in South Korea. An examination of some socio-geographic characteristics of these A-list users indicates that the distribution of these users in terms of their geographic location and social status can be understood in the context of the Korean social structure. In addition, an examination of Tweets posted by these users shows that half of these users had negative attitudes toward the current administration and that some Tweets contained emotional terms.

본 논문에서는 MMORPG에서 나타나는 캐릭터의 특성을 아이러니 개념을 중심으로 고찰하였다. 캐릭터의 아이러니는 캐릭터와 캐릭터 간의 관계를 중심으로 나타나는 내적 아이러니와 캐릭터와 플레이어의 관계를 중심으로 한 외적 아이러니로 나뉘어 나타난다. 내적 아이러니는 캐릭터가 게임 세계 속에서 가지게 되는 영웅으로서의 정체성에 의해 나타나며 외적 아이러니는 죽음의 문제를 중심으로 형성되었다. MMORPG에서 나타나는 아이러니는 게임이 재현적 예술로서 인생의 총체적 모습을 구현하고 있음을 확인할 수 있도록 해 준다.

Analyzing various works of Nam June Paik who pioneered the world of video art, we can find a number of audiovisual art pieces - in a broad sense - with the characteristics of "intermedia" that are not clearly identified as one genre. Especially, his career as a musician becomes an important clue for us to discuss the unique originality found in Paik's works. Nevertheless, examples of research that specifically explore how Paik's musicality is reflected in his artistry and could be deeply understood is still rare. This article examines Paik's audiovisual art world, and reviews how his musicality is expressed through the characteristics of media and form, as well as contributed to the ultimate technical and aesthetic realizations of his pieces from the perspective of musical synesthesia. The fact that Paik expanded the concept of music through technology, and fused different media to visualize music, is an important achievement in the context of aesthetic, synesthetic music in the field of audiovisual art.

Domestic digital signage industry has been growing in line with the Internet and intelligent devices like smart phones. However, policies for digital signage need to be supplemented because existing policies are only focused on regulations for outdoor advertisements. Moreover, while digital technologies have been developed, there are few contents technologies to support the digital technologies. In this context, this research aims to identify the problems in relation to the domestic digital signage industry and seek for measures to solve the problems. Various case studies and literature review were conducted to identify problems in terms of policy, technology and service, and measures for revitalizing the digital signage industry were suggested. The research is expected to help digital signage to serve as new convergence media available for customization targeting and user participation.

The purpose of this study is to understand Archigram's architectural works by analysing Archigram, which was a little magazine issued from 1961 to 1974. Studies on the Archirgam's architectural works have been mostly focused on their projects themselves, not within the context of the medium, Archigram (little magazine). However, Archigram as a little magazine worked as a platforms where ideas and projects could be developed and communicated among the members. Therefore, this study focused on the distinct features of Archigram's architectural works which were influenced by its little magazine, Archigram. The major conclusion of this study is that Archigram's architectural works worked as media themselves; Archigram's architectural works are open-end conclusions which can be transformed and developed by other members; Archigram members created new temporality, creating 'up-to-the-minute' architecture.

This paper examine the changing ecosystems in Malaysia, starting with the government policy driven greenfield cluster of Cyberjaya, which is part of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) mega project. In this context of an emerging economy, predominantly production oriented, the role of the government was crucial with respect to implementing policies and building infrastructure for the ecosystems. First, the roles played by the cluster development agency, universities, and industry are explained. As the cluster developed, this paper, taking an entrepreneurial ecosystem approach, explores how some actors evolved and changed their roles to become catalyst organisations established for the cluster now serving nationwide. This was followed by the emergence of new actors in the ecosystems, for example, knowledge intermediaries, and new roles for universities. In addition to actors such as universities and industry, this paper recognizes the emergence of media organisations as new actors in the entrepreneurial ecosystems in Malaysia.

The generalized thermoelastic analysis problem of a two-dimension porous medium with and without energy dissipation are obtained in the context of Green-Naghdi's (GNIII) model. The exact solutions are presented to obtain the studying fields due to the pulse heat flux that decay exponentially in the surface of porous media. By using Laplace and Fourier transform with the eigenvalues scheme, the physical quantities are analytically presented. The surface is shocked by thermal (pulse heat flux problems) and applying the traction free on its outer surfaces (mechanical boundary) through transport (diffusion) process of temperature to observe the analytical complete expression of the main physical fields. The change in volume fraction field, the variations of the displacement components, temperature and the components of stress are graphically presented. Suitable discussion and conclusions are presented.

This study's purpose is to suggest a pedagogical method based on using animated movie in liberal arts English classes and to examine the direction that using animated movie as learning material should take. To this end, in this study, the content understanding and expression concentration stages using animated movie are presented. After students learned in class through animated movie, two tests were conducted to investigate the change in learners' acquisition of English expressions. As a result, subjects' learning of English expressions showed a significant improvement over time. An open-ended questionnaire was also conducted to ascertain learners' satisfaction level and their perceptions of classes using animated movie, with learners' satisfaction found to be high overall (77.1%). Students identified the reasons for their high satisfaction rate as the following: "fun and a touching story", "beneficial composition of textbooks", "efficient teaching methods", "sympathetic topics", and "appropriate difficulty". When using video media in class, instructors should maximize and leverage the advantages of video media, which are rich both in context and in their linguistic aspects.

The present research is concerned to study the effect of fractional parameter and rotation on the propagation of Rayleigh waves in an orthotropic magneto-thermoelastic media with three-phase-lags in the context of fractional order theory of generalized thermoelasticity with combined effect of rotation and hall current. The secular equations of Rayleigh waves are derived by using the appropriate boundary conditions. The wave properties such as phase velocity, attenuation coefficient are computed numerically and the numerical simulated results are presented through graphs to show the effect on all the components. Some special cases are also discussed in the present investigation.
