식품안전 위해물질의 발생 및 언론보도가 수산물 생산, 유통 및 소비에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Hazardous Substances Generation and Media Reports on the Production, Distribution and Consumption of Aquatic Products)

  • This study investigated whether there is a correlation between the occurrence of hazardous substances such as vibrio, norovirus, radioactivity, shellfish posion, hepatitis A, etc. and media reports, and whether the occurrence of hazardous substances and media reports affect the production, distribution and consumption of aquatic products. The main research results are as follows. First, it can be seen that there is a difference in the relationship between the occurrence of hazardous substances and media reports according to hazardous substances. Second, it suggests seen that the occurrence of hazardous substances and media reports can have a negative effect on the production and the prices of aquatic products. Third, it was found that the occurrence and reporting of hazardous substances had different effects on the distribution margin of aquatic products due to the complexity and rigidity of the distribution structure. Fourth, consumers feel a threat to aquatic products safety and significantly reduce consumption when hazardous substances occur. There is a possibility that concerns about one item may lead to a decrease in consumption of domestic and imported aquatic products that are not related at all to the occurrence of hazardous substances. In conclusion, aquatic products are exposed to various hazardous substances such as vibrio, norovirus, radioactivity, shellfish posion, and hepatitis A. It was found that the occurrence of hazardous substances and its media reports could cause damage to the fishery sector.

  • 이 연구는 노무현 정부 홍보담당자들과 이명박 정부 홍보담당자들의 언론 관계에 대한 인식과 오보에 대한 전반적인 인식을 살펴보고, 정권 교체로 인한 홍보 환경의 변화에 따라 홍보담당자들의 이러한 인식에 어떠한 차이가 있는지 알아보았다. 또한 홍보담당자들이 갖고 있는 언론 관계에 대한 인식은 오보에 대한 전반적인 인식에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 함께 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 두 집단의 언론 관계에 대한 인식이나 오보 개념, 원인에 대한 인식 등이 집단 간 뚜렷한 차이를 나타냈으며, 그들의 언론 관계에 대한 인식은 오보에 대한 인식에 영향을 미친 것으로 밝혀졌다. 하지만, 두 집단의 오보 방지 노력에 대한 인식의 차이는 크지 않게 나타났다.

자살보도에 대한 지각과 인식: 사회학습효과의 검증 (The roles of perception and attitudes toward media reports of suicides in social learning effects)

  • 기존의 논문들은 미디어의 자살보도와 시·공간적으로 근접한 자살사건 간의 관련성을 보고하고 그 영향에서의 사회학습적 효과를 제안했지만, 구체적인 심리적 과정을 확인하지 못하였다. 본 연구는 미디어의 자살보도가 우리나라 성인들의 지각, 기억, 태도에 영향을 미치고 결국 자살에 대한 태도와 인식을 변화시켜 모방자살을 증가시키게 된다는 사회학습과정에서의 인지적 기제를 확인하고자 진행되었다. 이를 위해 300명의 일반 성인들을 대상으로 자살보도에 대한 지각, 기억, 태도, 그리고 자살보도의 부정적인 영향과 긍정적인 영향에 대한 인식을 측정하고 마지막으로 자살에 대한 태도와 행동을 측정하였다. 분석결과에 따르면 일반인들은 보도내용 중에서 모방자살을 증가시키는 역할을 하는 것으로 알려진 내용들을 더 많이 기억하고 있었으며, 자살보도로 인한 부정적 영향과 국민의 알권리에 대한 이중적인 인식을 가지고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그리고 자살보도로 인해서 자살자가 얻는 보상에 대한 지각이 모방자살에 대한 긍정적 생각과 태도를 일으키는 것으로 밝혀져 모방자살에서의 사회학습적 기제의 역할을 지지하는 결과를 얻었다. 이러한 결과들을 종합하여 향후 미디어의 자살보도에 대한 심리학적 접근의 방향과 자살보도의 제한에 대한 함의점을 논하였다.

A Corpus-Based Longitudinal Study of Diction in Chinese and British News Reports on Chang'e Project

  • As a milestone progression in China's space exploration history, Chang'e Project has attracted a lot of media attention since its first launching. This study aims to examine and compare the similarities and differences between the Chinese media and the British media in using nouns, verbs, and adjectives to report the Chang'e Project. After categorising the documents based on specific project phases, we created two diachronic corpora to explore the linguistic shifts and similarities and differences of diction employed by the Chinese and British media on the Chang'e Project ideology. This longitudinal study was performed with Lancsbox and the CLAWS web tagger through critical discourse analysis as the theoretical framework. The findings of the current study showed that the Chang'e Project coverage in both media increased on an annual basis, especially after 2019. In contrast to the objectivity and positivity in the Chinese Media, the British Media seemed to be more subjective with more appraisal adjectives in the news reports. Nonetheless, both countries were trying to be objective and formal in choosing nouns and verbs. Ideology-wise, the Chinese news media reports portrayed more positivity on domestic circumstances while the British counterpart was typically more critical. Notably, the study outcomes could catalyse future research on the Chang'e Project and facilitate diplomatic policies.

자살 보도에 대한 미디어 간 의제 설정 분석: 빅데이터를 이용한 네트워크 의제 설정 모델 분석을 중심으로 (Exploring inter-media agenda-setting effects: Network agenda-setting model by using big-data analysis)

  • 이 연구는 한국 사회에서 심각한 사회문제로 인식되고 있는 자살 문제를 해결하기 위한 대안을 찾고자 20여년간 미디어에서 자살문제를 어떻게 바라보고 있는지 네트워크의제설정이론을 기반으로 살펴보았다. 연구 결과에서 자살, 투신, 사망, 시도, 추정, 발견, 남성, 기도, 비관, 여성 등과 같은 핵심어들이 상위 10대 핵심어로 나타났고, 이러한 핵심어들은 유사하게 지속적으로 등장하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 신문과 방송에서도 비교적 유사한 형태의 보도 경향이 나타나며, 미디어 간 의제 설정 관계가 있는 것으로 추론된다. 이러한 결과를 통해서 자살문제를 해결을 위한 미디어 보도의 방향성에 대해서 대안을 고려해 볼 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

자살 사고와 자살 시도가 있거나 없는 개인의 자살 보도에 대한 태도 연구 (A Study of Attitudes Toward Suicide Report among Individuals with and without Suicidal Thoughts and Suicide Attempts)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the interest level, perception and attitude of suicide high-risk group toward the media's suicide report, and also to provide the fundamental data in order to strengthen both the standard and the recommendation of media coverage in Korea. Methods We analyzed the data from the 2013 The Korea National Suicide Survey. The study included 1500 participants aged between 19 and 75 years. The participants were selected through the regional multi-layer stratification method using the sampling frame of the 2010 Census. One-on-one face-to-face interviews investigated the interest level, opinions, and attitudes toward suicide reports and collected data on past suicide history and demographic data. The collected data were evaluated using multiple logistic regression analysis. A probability level of p < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results The suicide high risk groups with histories of suicidal ideations or attempts showed more interest in suicidal reports [suicidal thought odds ratio (OR) = 1.81, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.40-2.34 ; suicidal attempt OR = 3.21, 95% Cl = 1.52-6.78]. However, there was no difference among the groups in thought that suicide reports incite suicide (suicidal thought OR = 1.26, 95% Cl = 0.92-1.73 ; suicidal attempt OR = 0.96, 95% Cl = 0.44-2.09). The suicide high risk groups showed a positive attitude toward suicide reports, but it was not statistically significant (suicidal thought OR = 1.10, 95% Cl = 0.41-2.92 ; suicidal attempt OR = 1.10, 95% Cl = 0.76-1.59). Conclusions We suggest the need of careful attitude of media suicidal reports not to bring about copycat suicides. and also we offer suicide prevention campaign based on media leverage.

한의약에 대한 국내 언론보도 경향 분석 : 2018년~2022년 뉴스 기사 비교 (Comparative analysis of domestic news trends in Korean Medicine from 2018 to 2022)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study is to analyze the news articles related to Korean Medicine(KM) and compare trends in news reports from 2018 to 2022. Method : News articles related to KM were collected through the BigKinds, the news bigdata service of the Korea Press Foundation. News reports from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2022 were searched. 2,950 news articles out of a total of 12,497 met the inclusion criteria. First, quantitative changes in media coverage were analyzed by year, media outlet, and month. For qualitative analysis, two authors independently coded the content of news articles, discussed them until consensus, and consulted with a third researcher to classify them. In addition, keywords extracted by the BigKind's Topic Rank algorithm were compared and analyzed in each year. Results : The number of news articles on KM decreased by 42% in 2022 compared to 2018. Over a fiveyear period, the Naeil Shinmun reported the most on KM among newspapers, while the Hankyoreh did the least. Among broadcasters, YTN reported the most and SBS did the least. When analyzing the reports by category, the most common was 'treatment', followed by 'prevention' and 'scientification'. As a result of extracting keywords with high weight and frequency, 'immunity' and 'immune system' ranked the first and second in 2018, while 'COVID 19' and 'medical law violation' did in 2022. Conclusion : The decrease in media reports on KM during the COVID-19 epidemic period seems to be due to the limited role of KM in responding to infectious diseases, and efforts to expand the scope of KM can induce increased media reports and social interest.

Public Opinion of the King Sejong Institute in China - Based on the Analysis of Media Reports from WeChat Official Accounts

  • International public opinion on King Sejong Institute (KSI) is one of the most important factors influencing its overseas development as a worldwide non-profit educational service organization. China is one of the overseas strategic regions for KSI to spread the Korean Language. This paper intends to assess KSI's current public opinion environment in China. With content analysis of 87 news reports related to KSI in WeChat Official Accounts from 2014 to 2022, this paper attempts to assess the public opinion environment of KSI in China. In this paper, we show that the Chinese media' s current attention to KSI is generally lacking. The current reports focus more on activity narrations, and the main report factors come from local media and universities' oncampus news, which have relatively weak dissemination power and limited influences. On one side, the reasons are related to the characteristics of Chinese media, while the KSI establishment method in China also accounts for a lot. Therefore, it is necessary for the KSI to timely adjust the cooperation mode and publicity strategies according to the Chinese political and cultural characteristics to promote the sustainable development of KSI in China by continuously improving the public opinion environment.

언론보도에 따른 소비자의 이동통신비 인식에 대한 연구 (How Does Media Reports Affect Consumers' Attitude toward the Telecommunication Expense?)

  • 본 연구는 언론보도에 따라 소비자들의 이동통신비에 대한 인식에 어떤 변화가 발생하는지를 실험 연구를 통해 검증하고 이에 대한 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다. 무작위로 선발된 대상자를 4개의 집단(통제집단, 고비용 언론보도 노출 집단, 저비용 언론보도 노출 집단, 동시 노출 집단)에 배정한 후 언론보도에 대한 신뢰성 및 중립성, 자신의 생각과의 일치정도, 이동통신비에 대한 인식을 측정하였다. 분산분석 결과, 소비자들은 저비용 언론보도보다 고비용 언론보도를 더 신뢰하고 중립적이라고 평가하였다. 그러나 공변량 분석으로 통해 언론보도와 자신의 생각과의 일치 정도를 제거할 경우, 분산분석에서 나타났던 신뢰성과 중립성의 차이는 사라짐을 확인하였다. 또한 소비자들은 언론보도와 무관하게 이동통신비가 비싸다는 인식을 가지고 있었으며, 이동통신비가 비싸다는 기존의 인식이 새로운 정보를 받아들이지 못하게 방해하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 가계통신비 인하에 대한 사회적 압력을 해소하기 위해서는 이동통신비가 비싸다는 소비자들의 고정관념을 변화시켜야 할 것이며, 프레이밍을 활용한 향후 연구도 고려할 수 있다.

Evaluation of the MBTI Popularity in South Korea -- An Analysis Based on Media Coverage

  • With the start of COVID-19 in 2020, the MBTI test became popular among Korean young generation and then developed into a nationwide hot topic. This paper aims to investigate the characteristics of the MBTI popularity in Korea and the public opinions toward this phenomenon. With the analysis of the reports contents, 231 news reports related to MBTI were selected from KINDS (Korea Integrated News Database System) as research samples. The general attitude of the media towards MBTI tests and the reasons for the formation of positive and negative evaluations will be discussed from three perspectives: media attention, media attitudes and cognitive sources. The research finds that the increasing interest in MBTI among the younger generation in Korea is driven by a post-epidemic desire for self-exploration, emotional planning, and online group affiliation. MBTI has gained quasi-scientific status, similar to horoscopes, influenced by celebrities and a substantial fan base in online communication. While widely used for entertainment and social currency, there are concerns that extensive labeling may unconsciously impact individuals' self-perception and hinder the development of a holistic and objective cognitive framework.
