This study retrospectively analyzed the test results of 235 patients who visited a medical institution in Busan from May 2022 and February 2023 and conducted both carotid ultrasonography and blood tests. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect on intima-media thickness and blood flow velocity by measuring the intima-media thickness and blood flow velocity through carotid ultrasonography and analyzing the factors influencing the subject's body mass index and metabolic syndrome. Correlation analysis between carotid intima-media thickness and body mass showed (p=0.000) confirming that there is a correlation. As a result Correlation analysis between blood flow velocity and body mass index (p=0.015) was found, comfirming that there was a correlation. Age (p= 0.000), fasting blood glucose (p=0.002) and alcohol consumption (p=0.006) were found to be correlated with carotid intima-media thickness. An increase in Carotid intima-media thicknesses causes an increase in events caused by cardiovascular disease. Therefore, efforts must be made to exclude factors that increase Carotid intima-media thicknesses, and it will be most important to prevent cardiovascular disease through research on various prediction methods and regular checkups.

In this study, we verify the accurate numerical analysis and simplify the perforated plate of inlet and exhaust duct using porous media for the cost reduction and the efficiency improvement of thermal-fluid analysis to evaluate cooling performance of wheel-loader. The flow loss coefficient of the perforated plate is defined by the experiment result. To define analytically the flow loss coefficient of the perforated plate, we calculate the pressure drop of unit-cell and compare to experiment result. Finally, we compare the heat balance test and the simplified simulation result on the inlet and exhaust duct of wheel-loader. After this study, we verify the applicability of the simplified analysis method on the inlet and exhaust duct of wheel-loader. And, foundation which can carry out effectively the evaluation and improvement for cooling performance of wheel-loader is prepared.

The porous media of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is made of deformable materials. The shape of cross sectional area in air plate channels has been changed by structural deformation of the porous media. The uniform mass flow rate and pressure are major factors for safe and efficient operation in the PEMFC. Two kinds of models are provided for the flow analyses. Deformable and undeformable porous media are considered for numerical analysis and experiment of the air plate model. The numerical flow analysis results with deformable and undeformable porous media has some discrepancy in pressure distribution. The pressure differences are measured in order to compare with numerical analysis results. Pressures are measured between inlet and outlet of the air plate. The numerical analysis and experimental results show similar pressure distribution. It is shown that the pressure drops in the two approaches are well matched each other. It is proven that the consideration of structural deformation is required in the numerical analysis/experiment for the PEMFC design.

A series of experiments using transparent micromodels with an artificial pore network etched on glass plates was performed to investigate the effects of flow rate on the migration and distribution of resident wetting porewater (deionized water) and injecting non-wetting fluid (n-hexane). Multicolored images transformed from real RGB images were used to distinguish n-hexane from porewater and pore structure. Hexane flooding followed by immiscible displacement with porewater, migration through capillary fingering, preferential flow and bypassing were observed during injection experiments. The areal displacement efficiency increases as the injection of n-hexane continues until the equilibrium reaches. Experimental results showed that the areal displacement efficiency at equilibrium increases as the flow rate increases. Close observation reveals that preferential flowpaths through larger pore bodies and throats and clusters of entrapped porewater were frequently created at lower flow rate. At higher flow rate, randomly oriented forward and lateral flowpaths of n-hexane displaces more porewater at an efficiency close to stable displacement. It may resulted from that the pore pressure of n-hexane, at higher flow rate, increases fast enough to overcome capillary pressure acting on smaller pore throats as well larger ones. Experimental results in this study may provide fundamental information on migration and distribution of immiscible fluids in subsurface porous media.
The purpose of this study is to establish smart signage in a certain space and to analyze not only media ingestion and advertising inducement as well as any information (high vs. low vs. low) and flow level And the memory effect related to whether or not to remember. The results of this study show that the higher the interaction level and the higher the engagement level, the higher the advertising engagement is. In addition, media involvement was high when interaction level was low and flow level was high. Finally, if the level of interactivity is low and the level of flow is high, then non - valued attribution information is more likely to be recalled than the comprehensive evaluation information. If the interaction of smart signage is high and the flow of users is low, Recalled more recall information. In the future, detailed strategies for enhancing user flow will be needed rather than a strategy for unconditional enhancement of interaction in smart signage strategy.

Nitrogen and phosphorus are key factors in causing eutrophication of water body. In this study, ceramics media was selected to increase the removal efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorus. We designed vertical, horizontal flow constructed wetlands to create aerobic and anaerobic flow conditions by using the media, then proceeded to performance evaluations after acrylic reactors were produced. In the case of vertical and horizontal flow constructed wetlands, we measured oxygen concentrations to evaluate aerobic and anaerobic conditions. we got the result of 2.7 mg/L in the aerobic condition, N.D in the anaerobic condition respectively, which suited our purpose. The result of the combined vertical and horizontal flow condition showed that the removal efficiency of SS was 94%, 91%, 61% at 140 min, 80 min, 60 min of running times, respectively, and the removal efficiency of T-P was 84%, 71%, 63% during each running time. In case of T-N, the removal efficiency was 63%, 49%, 42% during each running time. We found that the reactor exerted better removal efficiency when in the short time compared to 12 - 24 hr residence time of existing wetlands. In this study, we conducted experiments to explore functional effects after applying combined vertical and horizontal flow methods in the field. Further study will be carried out to identify its mechanism and administrative perspective.
This study configured the conventional $A^2O$ (Anaerobic-Anoxic-Aerobic bioreactor) system which the fixed media immersed into the anoxic reactor(Named PFR system : Plug Flow Reactor) for evaluating the removal efficiency of nitrogen in the wastewater. The experimental equipment was a cylinder which was consist of 4 pleated PE Pipes(Length 330M, Diameter 100mm) including 2 rope shape media. As a result, the average effluent T-N removal efficiency of the conventional $A^2O$ system was 17.9, 40.3, 50.6, 44.6% in each mode, but the average effluent T-N removal efficiency of the PFR system could achieve 38.8, 57.1, 71.8, 65.4% in each mode. It indicated that the PFR system caused to the increasing of C/N ratio that effected to the increasing of the denitrification efficiency. Not only the effective T-N removal efficiency but also the controllable install space will give advantages for retrofitting of the wastewater treatment plant with the conventional treatment system to the PFR system.

Flow in the oxidizer manifold of a liquid rocket combustor has been analysed using an open source CFD toolbox, OpenFOAM. The applicability of OpenFOAM to the problems with complex geometries involving porous media zones for simulating the pressure drop induced by the injectors has been evaluated by performing turbulent, incompressible steady-state flow analysis. The usefulness and applicable area of the OpenFOAM as a design evaluation and analysis tool will be confirmed and enlarged by further evaluation with various computational cases representing major physical phenomena in rocket combustion devices.
This paper presents a design and analyzes the performance of a hospital assignment and reassignment scheme for emergency rescue services based on minimum cost maximum flow algorithm. It consists of flow graph building, link capacity updating, and allocation discovering steps. The efficiency of the algorithm makes it possible to reallocate hospitals even in case of dynamic changes in the number of patients or hospitals. The performance measurement result obtained from a prototype implementation shows that the proposed scheme can reduce the transport time requirement miss by up to 24%.
A correct understanding of vibration-based degradation is crucial from the standpoint of maintenance for Steam Generators (SG) as crucial mechanical equipment in nuclear power plants. This study has established a novel approach to developing a model for investigating tube bundle degradation according to crack growth caused by two-phase Flow-Induced Vibration (FIV). An important step in the approach is to calculate the two-phase flow field parameters between the SG tube bundles in various zones using the porous media model to determine the velocity and vapor volume fraction. Afterward, to determine the vibration properties of the tube bundles, the Fluid-Solid Interaction (FSI) analysis is performed in eighteen thermal-hydraulic zones. Tube bundle degradation based on crack growth using the sixteen most probable initial cracks and within each SG thermal-hydraulic zone is performed to calculate useful lifetime. Large Eddy Simulation (LES) model, Paris law, and Wiener process model are considered to model the turbulent crossflow around the tube bundles, simulation of elliptical crack growth due to the vibration characteristics, and estimation of SG tube bundles degradation, respectively. The analysis shows that the tube deforms most noticeably in the zone with the highest velocity. As a result, cracks propagate more quickly in the tube with a higher height. In all simulations based on different initial crack sizes, it was observed that zone 16 experiences the greatest deformation and, subsequently, the fastest degradation, with a velocity and vapor volume fraction of 0.5 m/s and 0.4, respectively.
