자동차 주유구 커버에 대한 사출성형과 2색 코팅 동시 구현에 관한 연구 (A study on simultaneous injection molding and two-color coating for car gas cap cover)

  • Mold design for in-mold coating was carried out to achieve simultaneous injection molding and two-color coating for car gas cap cover. The developed mold includes one core and three cavities which are composed of a substrate cavity and two coating cavities. To provide a sealing edge for complete seal during the second coating, the first coated material was used at the boundary between the first coating and the second one, and injection molded substrate was used at the parting line. The materials used were PC/ABS for substrate and 2-component Polyurea for coating. Through experiments, it was found that the suggested sealing edges were effective for complete seal during the second coating. In cavity pressure traces, there were three peaks caused by mold closing, coating-material injection and cleaning-piston advancement inside the mixing head. The cavity pressure increased with decreasing coating thickness.

FATIGUE DURABILITY ASSESSMENT OF FULL-BEAD OF MLS GASKET USING FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS

  • A full-bead of multi-layer-steel engine head gasket, taking charge of the dynamic sealing of combustion chamber, is susceptible to fatigue failure. The fatigue durability of full-bead was assessed with the finite element analysis results and the high-cycle multi-axial fatigue theory. The assessment aimed to reveal the effects of the forming parameters and dimensions of full-bead. The results show that the selection of embossing parameters producing less deformation of bead plate is beneficial for the improvement of durability while the flatting has marginal influence. The fatigue durability also improves with the increase in the width of full-bead and the radial length of bore-side flat region. However, the dimensional effects are limited due to the occurrence of snap-through.

  • 건축물 에너지 효율등급제도, 건축물 에너지 소비증명제 등 건축물 에너지 관련 법 제도가 지속적으로 강화되면서, 이에 대응하기 위한 고성능 단열재, 기능성 유리를 적용한 창호의 개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 에너지 절약을 위한 기능성 유리의 중요성이 크게 부각되고 있음에 따라 진공유리에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 진공유리의 핵심공정 중 모서리 접합공정은 진공유리의 기밀성, 강도, 형상에 있어 매우 중요한 공정이다. 본 논문에서는 수소혼합가스를 이용하여 전기로 내부에서 두 장의 유리를 접합하였다. 공정변수에 따른 접합유리의 강도와 형상을 측정 및 분석 하였으며, 다구치 실험계획법을 이용하여 접합유리의 강도를 예측하였다. 추가실험을 통해 예측 값과의 오차율을 확인함으로서 실험의 타당성을 검증하였다.

압축 및 내압을 받는 고무 오링의 기밀 성능 평가 (An evaluation on sealing performance of elastomeric O-ring compressed and highly pressurized)

  • Elastomeric O-rings have been the most common seals due to their excellent sealing capacity, and availability in costs and sizes. One of the critical applications of O-ring seals is solid rocket motor joint seal where the operating hot gas must be sealed during the combustion. This has long been a design issue to avoid the system failure. For laterally constrained, squeezed and pressurized condition, deformed shape of O-ring was measured by computed tomography method and CCD laser sensor, compared with numerical calculations. As clearance gap changes, sealing performance had been evaluated on peak contact stresses at top, bottom and side contact surfaces. As clearance gap increases, peak contact stresses and contact widths in top and side contact surfaces increase, and the asymmetry of stress distributions is promoted due to pressure increase. It is suggested that peak stress of bottom contact surface can be approximated by simple superposition of peak ones due to squeeze and pressure. Under pressurized condition, sealing performance is dependent on not peak stresses of bottom and side contact surfaces but that of top.

Long Term Reliability of Fluroelastomer (FKM) O-ring after Exposure to High Pressure Hydrogen Gas

  • The long-term durability of an FKM O-ring used as parts of a hydrogen station was investigated by exposing it to high-pressure gaseous hydrogen for 1, 3, and 7 days at room temperature. Changes in its sealing force were subsequently measured at 150℃ using intermittent compression stress relaxation (CSR). No changes in the tensile properties of FKM O-ring were observed, but its initial and overall sealing forces at 150℃ significantly decreased with increasing exposure time to hydrogen gas. Microvoid formation in the FKM O-ring upon exposure to high-pressure hydrogen was minimized over time after the ring was exposed to atmospheric pressure at room temperature, which prevented changes in its tensile properties. However, applying heat accelerated FKM O-ring oxidation, which decreased its sealing force. These results indicated that identifying changes in the sealing force of rubber materials using intermittent CSR is not sufficient for monitoring changes in mechanical properties under high-pressure hydrogen atmospheres; however, it is suitable for evaluating the long-term durability of sealing materials for hydrogen station applications under similar conditions.

  • 마모 마찰기구로 널리 사용되는 그라파이트에 대하여, 고온가스 조절 밸브 내에서 가스 유입 방지용 씰링 그라파이트 소재(HK-6)의 고온 마모 거동에 대하여 연구하였다. 구동축과 라이너 사이에 위치하여 지속적인 마모의 발생을 모사하기 위해 왕복동 마모 시험을 수행하였다. 마모 거동 변화의 영향 인자로 접촉 하중, 미끄럼 속도, 온도를 설정하고 민감도를 확인하였다. 마모 발생이 가장 적고 씰링 그라파이트 소재(HK-6)의 효율이 증대되는 최적조건에 대해 논의하였다.

  • Machine vision system plays an important role in factory automation. Its many applications are found in automobile manufacturing industries, as an eye for robotic automation system. In this paper, an automobile position measuring vision system(APMVS) applicable to manufacturing line for under body painting of a car is introduced. The APMVS measures position and orientation of the car body to be sealed or painted by the robots. The configuration of the overall robotic sealing/painting system, design and application procedure, and application examples are described.

단감 자동정렬 포장장치 개발 (Development of an Automated Ordering and Packing Units for Sweet Persimmons)

  • The sweet persimmons are producted 227,394 tons per year in Korea. They are preserved at cold storage after wrapping them in packing vinyl to maintain quality. Using conventional handwork, a skillful worker could probably produce only 1,000 packings a day. Hiring many skilled-labors to wrap sweet persimmons in packing vinyl seems to be difficult because of the recent rural crisis. Therefore, it was necessary to be developed for the automated ordering and packing unit that is convenient and laborsaving. This study were summarized as follows : Success rates of 99%, 100%, and 88% were observed for ordering parts, sealing and cutting films, and sealing films in the inlet part, respectively. The time required per 1 cycle was 16 seconds and the developed unit performed 225 cycles an hour. The unit showed an ability of 1,125 pieces per hour. Therefore, the productivity was 10 times greater than that of skillful handwork.

여유자유도 실링 로봇에서의 최적 경로 계획 (Optimal Path Planning in Redundant Sealing Robots)

  • In this paper, we focus on a robotic sealing process in which three robots are used. Each robot can be considered as a 7 axis redundant robot of which the first joint is prismatic and the last 6 joints are revolute. In the factory floor, robot path planning is not a simple problem and is not automated. They need experienced operators who can operate robots by teaching and playing back fashion. However, the robotic sealing process is well organized so the relative positions and orientations of the objects in the floor and robot paths are all pre-determined. Therefore by adopting robotic theory, we can optimally plan robot pathes without using teaching. In this paper, we analyze the sealing robot by using redundant manipulator theory and propose three different methods for path planning. For sealing paths outside of a car body, we propose two methods. The first one is resolving redundancy by using pseudo-inverse of Jacobian and the second one is by using weighted pseudo-inverse of Jacobian. The former is optimal in the sense of energy and the latter is optimal in the sense of manipulability. For sealing paths inside of a car body, we must consider collision avoidance so we propose a performance index for that purpose and a method for optimizing that performance index. We show by simulation that the proposed method can avoid collision with faithfully following the given end effector path.

부분해석법을 이용한 냉장고 가스켓 삽입부 형상설계 (Effective Design on the Inserting Part of Refrigerator Door Gasket Using Partial Analysis Method)

  • A gasket is known as an important component for mechanical sealing between mating surfaces. In case of the refrigerator, a gasket is generally installed into the edge line of a door to prevent cold air leaking out from the inside of a cabinet. The gasket shape used in a refrigerator is very complicated; it has a few deformable small rooms and wings (upper part) and inserting part (lower part) into the door. By the intricate shape, it takes much time and trouble on analysis by using a full-shape model. To settle down this problem, an effective design way of a gasket is proposed in this work. The inserting part is parametrically designed using FEM without considering the complicate upper part, Through this work, computational time and efforts are much reduced comparing to the full-shape analysis method. And the performance of a newly designed gasket was evaluated qualitatively.
