항공기용 초고장력강(300M) 부품의 가공변질층과 응력부식균열에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Affected Layer and Stress Corrosion Crack of Ultra-high-strength Steel (300M) for Aircraft Parts)

  • Mechanical components that support structures in aerospace and power generation industries require high-strength materials. Particularly, in the aerospace industry, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, and composite materials are increasingly used due to their high maneuverability and durability to withstand low temperature extreme environments; however, ultra-high-strength steel is still used in key components under heavy loads such as landing gears. In this paper, the fault cause analysis and troubleshooting of aircraft parts made of ultra-high-strength steel (300M) broken during normal operation are described. To identify the cause of the defect, a temporary inspection of the same aircraft was performed, and material testing, non-destructive inspection, microstructure examination, and fracture area inspection of the damaged parts were performed. Fracture analysis results showed that a crack in the shape of a branch developed from the tool mark in the direction of the intergranular strain. Based on the results, the cause of fracture was confirmed to be stress corrosion.

  • 능동적 열화상 기법은 재료의 수동적 열적결함에 있어 기존의 적외선 열화상 기법에 비해 우수한 결함 검출능력을 보이는 것으로 알려져 있다. 적외선 비파괴 검사는 지금까지 다양한 검출 기법에 대한 발전이 이루어졌으나 신뢰성에는 다소 의문이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 위상잠금 열화상기법을 적용하여 각각 다른 결함의 크기와 깊이의 인공결함을 갖는 SM45C 시험편을 가지고 제안된 기법을 검증하고, 불확도를 평가하여 위상잠금 열화상 기법을 이용한 결함의 크기측정에 대한 신뢰성을 검토하였다.

Wave shape analysis of seismic records at borehole of TTRH02 and IWTH25 (KiK-net)

  • The KiK-net by NIED is a vertical array measurement system. In the database of KiK-net, singular pulse waves were observed in the seismic record at the borehole of TTRH02 during the mainshock (the magnitude of Japan Meteorological Agency (MJ) 7.3, MW 6.8) and aftershock (Mj 4.2) of Tottori-ken Seibu earthquake in 2000. Singular pulse waves were also detected in the seismic records at the borehole of IWTH25 during the Iwate-Miyagi Nairiku earthquake in 2008 (MJ 7.2, MW 6.9). These pulse waves are investigated by using the wave shape analysis methods, e.g., the non-stationary Fourier spectra and the double integrated displacement profiles. Two types of vibration modes are discriminated as the occurrence mechanism of the singular pulse waves. One corresponds to the reversal points in the displacement profile with the amplitude from 10-4 m to 10-1 m, which is mainly related to the fault activity and the amplification pass including the mechanical amplification (collision) of the seismograph in the casing pipe. The other is the cyclic pulse waves in the interval of reversal points, which is estimated as the backlash of the seismograph itself with the amplitude from 10-5 m to 10-4 m.

진동모터용 PCB 정류자의 내구성 향상을 위한 신 합금도금 (Au-Cu) 개발 (Development of New Electroplating Alloy (Au-Cu) for Increasing the Durability of PCB Commutator in Vibration Motor)

  • Mobile phone is a representative personal communication tool among wireless communication devices. Recently, with the miniaturization and light-weight trend of mobile phone, the vibration motor has been replaced by coin type. The required performances of coin type vibration motor needed by user are long life, higher vibration, and thin thickness. Also the most important factor determines the performance of vibration motor is long-term reliability, which is mainly related to PCB plating technique for commutator. In this study, three types of fault were categorized to analyze the cause for malfunction of vibration motor. And, hardness and surface morphology on plating surface are also investigated to optimize the plating method and plating conditions. As a result, new plating method and conditions were proposed to increase the durability of PCB commutator.

  • The effect of the addition of Co and N and subzero treatment on tensile strength and damping capacity was investigated in Fe-Cr-Mn alloy. Austenite was transformed into martensite by cold rollins increasing the degree of cold rollins led to an increase in the volume fraction of martensite. The damping capacity linearly increased with increasing volume fraction of ${\varepsilon}$ martensite in cold rolled specimens and subzero treated specimens after cold rolling. The volume fraction of ${\varepsilon}$ martensite, tensile strength and damping capacity was also increased by the addition of Co, while this treatment decreased the elongation. However, the volume fraction of ${\varepsilon}$ martensite, elongation and damping capacity were reduced by the addition of N, although the tensile strength increased. Tensile strength and damping capacity werealso increased by subzero treatment, while elongation decreased.

Trend Monitoring of A Turbofan Engine for Long Endurance UAV Using Fuzzy Logic

  • The UAV propulsion system that will be operated for long time at more than 40,000ft altitude should have not only fuel flow minimization but also high reliability and durability. If this UAV propulsion system may have faults, it is not easy to recover the system from the abnormal, and hence an accurate diagnostic technology must be needed to keep the operational reliability. For this purpose, the development of the health monitoring system which can monitor remotely the engine condition should be required. In this study, a fuzzy trend monitoring method for detecting the engine faults including mechanical faults was proposed through analyzing performance trends of measurement data. The trend monitoring is an engine conditioning method which can find engine faults by monitoring important measuring parameters such as fuel flow, exhaust gas temperatures, rotational speeds, vibration and etc. Using engine condition database as an input to be generated by linear regression analysis of real engine instrument data, an application of the fuzzy logic in diagnostics estimated the cause of fault in each component. According to study results. it was confirmed that the proposed trend monitoring method can improve reliability and durability of the propulsion system for a long endurance UAV to be operated at medium altitude.

  • 해상에서 인명과 재산을 보호하기 위해서는 해양사고를 예방하고 긴급상황 시에 신속하게 대처하는 능력이 중요시된다. 해양사고의 80%가 선박의 운항과 관리에 관련된 인적요인으로 발생한다. 그것은 대부분의 해양사고가 한 개인의 순간적인 실수에서 유발되는 것이 아니라 그 배경에는 인적과실을 유발하는 잠재적인 요인들이l 복합적으로 작용한다는 것을 나타낸다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 선박에서 선상의 리더십이 선박에 미치는 영향과 선박의 의사결정 과정을 알아보고 특히, 선박의 긴급상황 시에 발생할 수 있는 행동특성의 이해를 통하여 특정선박에서 인적과실을 줄이기 위한 해결방안 및 대응전략을 제시하였다.

충전 동작이 용이한 간단한 구조의 DC 반도체 차단기 (A Simple-Structured DC Solid-State Circuit Breaker with Easy Charging Capability)

  • With the development of DC distribution, DC circuit breaker is required to ensure the stability of the DC grid. Unlike a mechanical circuit breaker that blocks after several tens of milliseconds, a DC SSCB(Solid-State Circuit Breaker) can break the fault well within 1 [ms], so it can prevent the damage of accident. However, the previous DC SSCB requires a lot of switching elements for charging commutation capacitors, and the control is complicated. Therefore, this paper proposes a new DC SSCB suitable for DC grid. The proposed DC SSCB is simple to control for charging commutation capacitors, and it can perform the rapid breaking and operating duty of reclosing and rebreaking. The proposed DC SSCB was designed to 380 [V] and 5 [kW] class which is suitable for residential DC distribution, and the operating characteristics of the proposed DC SSCB were verified by simulations and experiments. It is anticipated that the proposed DC SSCB may be utilized to design and realize DC grid system.

분산정보를 이용한 특징 선택과 PCA-ELM 기반의 유도전동기 고장진단 기법 개발 (Development of Induction Motor Diagnosis Method by Variance Based Feature Selection and PCA-ELM)

  • 본 논문은 클래스 내와 클래스 간의 분산정보를 이용한 주파수 성분의 선택적 추출기법과 PCA-ELM 기반의 유도전동기 고장진단 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 취득된 전류신호를 DFT에 의해 주파수 영역으로 변환한 후 분산정보를 이용하여 고장상태별로 차별성이 큰 순서대로 주파수 성분을 추출한다. 다음 단계로 선택된 주파수 성분에 대해서 PCA를 이용하여 고장상태별 특징들을 추출한다. 마지막 단계는 학습속도가 매우 우수한 ELM분류기에 의해 유도전동기의 상태를 진단하게 된다. 다양한 부하에 대하여 몇몇의 전기적 고장과 기계적 고장 하에서 획득한 데이터를 이용하여 제안된 방법의 타당성을 검증한다.

Structural damage detection using decentralized controller design method

  • Observer-based fault detection and isolation (FDI) filter design method is a model-based method. By carefully choosing the observer gain, the residual outputs can be projected onto different independent subspaces. Each subspace corresponds to the monitored structural element so that the projected residual will be nonzero when the associated structural element is damaged and zero when there is no damage. The key point of detection filter design is how to find an appropriate observer gain. This problem can be interpreted in a geometric framework and is found to be equivalent to the problem of finding a decentralized static output feedback gain. But, it is still a challenging task to find the decentralized controller by either analytical or numerical methods because its solution set is, generally, non-convex. In this paper, the concept of detection filter and iterative LMI technique for decentralized controller design are combined to develop an algorithm to compute the observer gain. It can be used to monitor structural element state: healthy or damaged. The simulation results show that the developed method can successfully identify structural damages.
