  • In this study, we will try to develop the 3D automatic design program of limit gauge. When users, who have some mechanical information, input some date, they can do 3D-modeling easily like expert. This is one of the merit in automatic design program and the automatic design program can compare the limit gauge made in this study with processed the bolt and nut model. This demonstrates the effective value of automatic design model. Limits gauge of sort divide into ring gauge of measuring bolt and pin gauge of measuring nut. The new automatic design program follows the KS.

  • The tipping-bucket and weight measuring type precipitation gauge has long been used worldwide for measuring rainfall. However, the conventional gauge has observation errors and its measurement range is limited by the device's resolution. In this paper, a new type of precipitation gauge that uses an innovative method by applying a new ultrasonic flow measuring technique was developed. This is the first time this technique is being used to gauge rainfall. The prototype was tested in the laboratory designated by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS). The rainfall intensity condition was 20~420 mm/H and the Standard Correction System for Precipitation Gauges was used. Results of the laboratory experiment showed that the proposed gauge has a ${\pm}2%$ margin of error. Consequently, it was proven that the proposed gauge is quite accurate and reliable for measuring precipitation.

  • A strain gauge weight measuring instrumentation system was designed with RF sensor network facilities. In the sensor module system data conversion and a series of signal processing were totally equipped. 16 strain gauges are incoming sensors and each output of the strain gauge was amplified and filtered for proper analog signal processing. Several measuring instrumentation OP amps and general purposed OP amps were used. 12 bits A/D converters converted analog signals to digital bits and a PIC microprocessor controlled the 16 channels of strain gauges. RF RS232 modules were used for wireless communication between the PIC microprocessor and an Ethernet host far a remote sensor monitoring system development.

  • This study aims at the development of REC sensor causing the gauge error in the hot strip rolling process, and the improvement of the hydraulic AGC (Automatic Gauge Control) system. The gauge error outbreaks from the various reasons, however, mainly the roll eccentricity is considered to cause a such kind of error. In the study, the REC (Roll Eccentricity Control System) sensor is designed using sensor An On - line test of the system shows the comprehensive effects of controlling the gauge error of the hot strip. On - Line test shows the possibility of enhancing the accuracy for gauge.

  • Gauge blocks are the most widely used material measure in length field in industry. The gauge block interferometer, which is the gauge block measuring system, comprises Twyman-Green type interferometer optics and light sources having precisely known wavelengths. This paper describes the work done for advancing the measurement system and automating the measurement process. The advancing of the system was done mainly by exchanging the spectral lamp with the frequency stabilized lasers, and the automation of measurement was achieved by modifying the hardware and developing the automatic measuring software. As the results of this work, the contrast of interferometric fringes of gauge blocks longer than 100 mm s enhanced about 20 times, and the measurement time has reduced down to 50% by automation.

  • A comprehensive computer software has been implemented in conjunction with the software for volumetric error generator, to assess simulation on specific measurement tasks. The simulation algorithms have been developed for major measurement tasks, such as step gauge, ring gauge, sphere gauge, and cylinder gauge simulations etc. Verification and practical applications of the developed module have shown its efficiency and validity.

  • Comparison of acoustic emission, ultrasonic testing and crack gauge in 3-point bending testing have been studied. As the results, COD is indirectly assumed by strain gauge rate and grid pitch width when crack gauge grid is out. Acoustic emission is qualitatively able to measure crack growth by total count but ultrasonic testing has a difficulty in measuring it because of echo height fluctuation according to the change and pressure of UT. probe.
