  • In general, manufacturing error originated in bad material, machine tool defection, tool defection, and tool breakage. When the manufacturing process is stable, the error is come from the tool wear. In common on-machine measurement, teaching probe and touch sensor are widely used, however in this thesis the automatic tool compensation system using electric touch point measuring system is developed and evaluated, and effective operating is proposed.

  • A tool holder system has been designed to measure cutting forces in diamond turning. This system includes a 3-component piezo-electric tranducer. In this research, tool holder system is modeled by considering the element dividing, material properties, and boundary conditions using MSC/PATRAN. Mode and frequency analysis of structure is simulated by MSC/NASTRAN, for the purpose of developing the effective design. In addition, tool holder system is verified by vibration test using accelerometer. This system will aid to the development of Fast Tool Servo (FTS)

  • In this paper, a general procedure to determine machine tool errors from the on-machine measurement (OMM) data is described. First, a parameterized error model of a machine tool is illustrated by approximating error components as linear function of axis positions, and a modified error model is proposed which includes backlash effects. To determine the unknown model coefficient vectors of the forward and backward error model, an artifact with 8 cutes is made and calibrated on CMM. Then, lower-left and upper-right cube corners are measured with a touch-trigger probe mounted on the machine tool spindle. Measured error data are used to determine the coefficient vectors. The positioning errors in the XY plane at the fixed z position are simulated for the forward and backward error model.

  • Until recently, Stamping tool manufacturing depend on skilled designers and technicians, because it has many parameters. So, Try-out time not controlled. We now apply CAE, preliminary experiment, material database and automated stain measurement in stamping tool manufacturing for concurrent engineering that decreases product development circle time, saves cost, improves product reliability. Automated strain analysis and measurement environment gives very accurately informations to technicians of stamping tool manufacturing. They analysed the part in problem and appled to results in Try-out step.

  • Traditional FTL and flash file systems based of NAND flash memory may not be adaptively applied to new fusion flash memory which combines the advantages of NAND and NOR flash memory. In this paper, we propose a FTL performance measurement tool using Multi Block Erase function of fusion flash memory. The performance measurement tool shows that multi block erase function can be effectively utilized in performance enhancement of garbage collection for fusion flash memory.

수공구 손잡이의 인간공학적 요소 평가 (Ergonomic Factors Assessment on Hand Tool Handle)

  • The goal of this study is to investigate the ergonomic factors in designing or selecting the hand tool handle. Electromyogram (EMG) were measured for various wrist postures and handle sizes under two loading conditions. Anthropometric data were measured and the correlation with EMG measurement data were analyzed. Investigations of this study show that wrist posture should be neutral for minimum muscle tension and optimum handle size can be found by measuring the EMG measurement data. It show that hand width and EMG measurement data is greatly correlated also. This study can be a guide of designing or selecting a hand tool, but further study with large sample sizes and various groups is needed for making general conclusion.

  • A 2$\frac{1}{2}$ dimensional measurement and inspection system realized on the machine tool using a touch trigger probe and measuring G codes is synthesized in this paper. Measuring G codes have been constructed according to geometric farms, precision attributes, relationships between two parts, datum hierarchies, and relevant technological data by using measuring arguments. Algorithms far calibration and compensation of measuring errors are proposed to ensure the measuring accuracy by using a laser interferometer and ring gauges. Classification of feed rates according to the objectives of movement makes it possible to reduce measuring time and also implement collision-free measurement. Experiments are conducted to verify the validity and effectiveness of proposed methods.

  • There is the high interest for sensing of tool wear with the aim of controlling machine tools productivity from the point of view of qualitity. Difficulties in this measurement are also known. This study is on the development of measurement setup for crater wear by CCD image inturning. In this study, the crater wear measurement system consists of the He-Ne gas laser, diffraction grating. CCD camera, noise filter, slit, microcomputer, diverging lens, converging lens and so on. He-Ne laser beam passes through a diverging lens and a diffraction grating is positioned properly. A converging lens focuses so that the interference fringes can be obtained on the crater wear. Performance test revealed that the developed image technique provides precise, absolute tool-wear quantification and reduces human measurement errors. The results obtained are as follows 1. The digitizing of one image requires less than 2ses. 2. It can give detailed information on crater wear with limited times and errors 3. All parameters required by specification are easily obtained for several points of the cutting edge.
