Calibration and INvestigation into Measurement Performance of a Visual Sensing System (시각측정시스템의 캘리브레이션 및 측정성능 검토)

  • It is necessary to calibrate measurement systems to enhance its measurement accuracy. The visual sensing system that is presented in our previous work has to be calibrated, too. It is a multiple mirror system for three-dimensional measurement, which is composed of a camera and a series of mirrors. It is important to calibrate the positions and orientations of the mirrors relative to the camera because they have direct influence on the relationship between the image plane and the task space. This paper presents the calibration method for the visual sensing system. To confirm the measurement performance of the implemented system. its measurement accuracy in measuring the locations in three-dimensional space is investigated. A series of experiments for measuring the locations of the circle-shaped marks are performed. Experimental results show that the sensing system can be effectively used for three-dimensional measurement.

  • The objective of this study is the developement monitoring measurement using global positioning digital datalogger system for monitoring measurement of railway construction sites. For the replacement of current passive data communication, Global positioning digital datalogger system using active communication is studied for the first time with in a country. Therefore data communication method and analyzing program of automatic measurement data is developed for the global positioning automatic digital datalogger system. The results of this study will be using real time automatic monitoring measurement of railway structures.

  • In most shipyards, the measurement of 3-dimensional relative position of pipes should be connected in the block depends on the manual operation. It results a very tedious and inefficient procedure, thus the proper measurement system is needed to improve productivity and accuracy. This paper describes the development of pipe measurement system including system concepts, measuring procedures, system calibration, and its accuracy and productivity. And also, the possibility and things to be improved for application in shipyard are discussed in this paper.

  • The objective of this study is the developement of real time automatic datalogger using bluetooth modem for safety and maintence of civil construction sites. Automatic measurement system using general wireless modem is studied, and data communication method of between personal computer(or Server) and automatic measurement data is analyzed.   • This study aimed to examine the Factor Structure of the teacher satisfaction scale (TSS) with distance education during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as affirming the (Factorial Invariance) according to gender variable. It also aimed at identifying the degree of satisfaction according to some demographic variables of the sample. The study population consisted of all teachers in public education and faculty members in higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The (TSS) was applied to a random sample representing the study population consisting of (2399) respondents. The results of the study showed that the scale consists of five main factors, with a reliability value of (0.94). The scale also showed a high degree of construct validity through fit indices of the confirmatory factor analysis. The results have shown a gradual consistency of the measure's invariance that reaches the third level (Scalar-invariance) of the Measurement Invariance across the gender variable. The results also showed that the average response of the study sample on the scale reached (3.74) with a degree of satisfaction, as there are no statistically significant differences between the averages of the study sample responses with respect to the gender variable. While there were statistically significant differences in the averages with respect to the variable of the educational level in favor of the middle school and statistically significant differences in the averages attributed to the years of experience variable in favor of those whose experience is less than (5) years.

An Analysis of Measurement Equivalence in a Teaching Aptitude and Personality Test for Pre-service Mathematics Teachers between a Graduate School of Education and a College of Education (교육대학원과 사범대학 예비수학교사의 교직 적성·인성 검사에 대한 측정의 동등성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the measurement equivalence and to suggest application ways in teaching aptitude and personality test results for pre-service mathematics teachers between a graduate school of education and a college of education. This study analyzed the scores of the teaching aptitude and personality test of 36 pre-service mathematics teachers enrolled in a graduate school of education and 111 pre-service mathematics teachers in a college of education by performing a multivariate generalizability analysis. The main results were as follows. First, graduate's pre-service mathematics teachers had a higher level of teaching aptitude and personality than that of college's pre-service mathematics teachers based on the total scores. In addition, graduate's pre-service mathematics teachers had higher levels of teaching aptitude and personality than those of college's pre-service mathematics teachers except for a creativity application domain based on the sub-domain scores. Second, cognitive domains were measured more precisely but affective domains were measured less precisely for graduate's pre-service mathematics teachers than for college's pre-service mathematics teachers. Third, regardless of school levels, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ values, which might be overestimated by applying the classical test theory, were higher than dependability coefficients. Fourth, this study showed a somewhat negative result in ensuring the measurement equivalence for a problem solving exploration domain. However, regardless of school levels, this study indicated that the overall measurement was generally reliable on composite scores. Based on these results, it was confirmed that multivariate generalizability methodologies' approach can be useful for exploring the measurement equivalence issues. Finally, this study suggests how to utilize the results of the test, how to apply a multivariate generalizability analysis for detecting the measurement equivalence, and how to develop future research based on limitations.

  • As the Korea's economy grows bigger and its industrial structure advances, demands of high quality product become increasing. And the technology becomes to be more important factor than labor power and capital. And, the development of technology plays the key role in promoting the competitiveness of a nation. Measurement means 'Measuring with instrument', dissemination of measurement standards related with dissemination and distribution of measuring instrument. Measurement technology has been known to be the main factor of economic growth and technological development. National measurement standards is one of these factors of measurement technology. Therefore, in order to enhance dissemination of measurement standards to industry, we have to define its economic impact. We analysed the economic impact of measurement standards in terms of its contribution to the product induction of industry and management results using I-O Table with the quantitative data. The results from this study show that the increasement of measurement standards dissemination is in complementary relation with the productivity of various industries, assembly manufacturing, in particularly.

  • This study aimed to test the factor structure of the measure of student participation in distance education. The study population consisted of all teachers in public education and faculty members in higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by applying it to a sample of bachelor's and graduate students at the college of Education at umm al-Qura University. The (ESE) was applied to a random sample representing the study population consisting of (216) respondents. The results of the study showed that the scale consists of three main factors, with showed a high degree of construct validity through fit indices of the confirmatory factor analysis. The results have shown a gradual consistency of the measure's invariance that reaches the high level of the Measurement Invariance across the gender and study groups variables.

Analyses of the Basic Inquiry Process in Korean 3-10 Grade Science Textbooks: Focused on Observation and Measurement (우리나라 3-10학년 과학 교과서에 나타난 기초탐구과정 분석: 관찰 및 측정 탐구요소를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of observation and measurement inquiry process in the Korean science textbooks. For the inquiry process of observation, the higher grade textbooks contained more 'comparative observation' rather than 'simple observation'. Students should express their observation results in written words rather than verbal descriptions in the higher grade. For the inquiry process of measurement, the temperature measurement was the most frequent measurement activity. 'Measurement design' was found more frequently in the lower grade textbooks. The uses of measurement tools were not presented systematically and were presented restrictively when the relevant experiment wanted to use these tools. The higher grade textbooks include 'quantitative measurements' rather than 'qualitative measurements' and 'operation measurement' rather than 'simple measurement'. In the application of measurement results, we had difficulty in finding the activities related with the usage of unit, unit conversion, significant figure, error and uncertainty.

Effectiveness of web based learning program on self efficacy, knowledge, and competence in measurement of blood pressure (웹 기반 학습 프로그램이 혈압측정에 대한 자기효능감, 지식 및 수행능력에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the effectiveness of a web based learning program on self efficacy, knowledge, and competence in measurement of blood pressure in college nursing students. Method: This study was an experimental research study. Data were collected from April 20 to June 1. 2011. The participants were 68 first year nursing students (experimental group 37, control group 31). The collected data were analyzed with the PASW 18.0 program, using ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test, and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. Results: The mean score for self efficacy in blood pressure measurement in the experimental group was 61.9 and in the control group 60.7. This result was statistically significant (t=3.301, p=.002). The mean score for knowledge of blood pressure measurement in the experimental group was 11.5 and in the control group 10.8. This result was statistically significant (t=2.910, p=.005). But effectiveness of competence in blood pressure measurement was not significant. Conclusion: The study results show that the web based learning program was effective for self efficacy and knowledge in blood pressure measurement but not for competence indicating.-a need to develop strategies to improve competence in blood presessure measurement for these students.
