인체계측(人體計測)에 의(依)한 표준작업역(標準作業域)의 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Standard Working Area by Somatometria)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the horizontal and vertical working area which is dependent on measuring value of workers, body in order to make easy and stable working environments, and then to design the size of machines, tools and instruments in production factory because of making the practical production conditions which is the most suitable to human characteristics. But there is necessity that we have to review numeric value of measurement periodically because the size of workers' body is variable according to periodic and social circumstances. The establishment of standard working area after measurement enable us to make the best working conditions and we can design standard working table, optimum size of all machines and tools in production activity. Therefore, we can also acknowledge the importance of studying on human engineering because human engineering is necessary to reduction of fatigue in working, saving workers from industrial accidents, fail-safe system, improvement of productivity with increase in efficiency and etc. Finally, this study informs us that numeric value of measurement is larger than that of Japan, but not than that of America and Germany. So we can establish standard working area which is the most suitable for Korean inherence after measurement of detailed parts for workers' body.

  • Ultrasonic sensors are becoming indispensable components in every sector of automation equipments due to many advantages. But the main purposes of the noncontact sensing device are rather narrowly confined within object detection and distance measurement. To widen the realm of the applications to object recognition, ultrasonic sensors need to improve the recognition resolution to a certain amount. To resolve the problem of spatial resolution restriction, an increased number of the sensors in the forms of a linear array or 2-dimensional array of the sensor has been used. Also better resolution has been obtained by shifting the array in several steps using mechanical actuators. For an object recognition using ultrasonic sensors, measurements of distance, shift, oblique angle in certain ranges should be obtained. But a little attention has been paid to the measurement of angles. In this paper we propose a practical method for an object angular value detection in addition to distance measurement in ultrasonic sensor array system with little additional hardware burden. Using the established measurement look-up table for the variations of distance, shift, angle and transmitter voltages for each sensor characteristics, a set of different return echo signals for adjacent receivers are processed to provide enhanced angular value reading for an object.

Vision-based remote 6-DOF structural displacement monitoring system using a unique marker

  • Structural displacement is an important indicator for assessing structural safety. For structural displacement monitoring, vision-based displacement measurement systems have been widely developed; however, most systems estimate only 1 or 2-DOF translational displacement. To monitor the 6-DOF structural displacement with high accuracy, a vision-based displacement measurement system with a uniquely designed marker is proposed in this paper. The system is composed of a uniquely designed marker and a camera with a zooming capability, and relative translational and rotational displacement between the marker and the camera is estimated by finding a homography transformation. The novel marker is designed to make the system robust to measurement noise based on a sensitivity analysis of the conventional marker and it has been verified through Monte Carlo simulation results. The performance of the displacement estimation has been verified through two kinds of experimental tests; using a shaking table and a motorized stage. The results show that the system estimates the structural 6-DOF displacement, especially the translational displacement in Z-axis, with high accuracy in real time and is robust to measurement noise.

  • The changes of physical properties of portland cement pastes and mortars were investigated by addition of sodium gluconate. Flow table experiment and viscosity measurement were took in order to find dispersing effect, and time-dependent changesof viscosity and rates of hydration heat evolution were carried out for the sake of finding retardation effect of hydration. And changes of physical properties of cement pastes and mortars were discussed by setting time, compressive strength and porosity.

  • This paper describes a system which enables a fast 3-dimensional measuring of a human head using a slit-ray projection method . One feature of our system is that almost all calculations are executed using a look-up table, so that, forty thousands of sample point scan be processed in a few seconds. The feasibility of our system for practical applications is demonstrated measuring a human head.

  • This study area has been contaminated by oils. To identify contaminated ranges and to assess the possibility of contamination dispersion, monitoring wells were installed and slug test, field soil permeability test, automatic or manual measurement of groundwater table, and groundwater quality analyses in field and laboratory were performed. In addition, a groundwater modeling program was used to assess the possibility of oil contamination dispersion, based on field data and groundwater quality data. The results showed that concentration of oil contaminants in groundwater have been decreased by dispersion and adsorption.

  • Over the years, the benefits of instructional manipulatives in mathematics education have been verified by classroom practice and educational research.   • In machine tools, frictional force exists between the table and the guideways, and in ballscrews. In this paper, feed motor current measured by a hall sensor is used to calculate the motor torque. Some frictional phenomena are studied in feed drive systems, such as the relationship between feedrate and frictional torque, and chip cover effects on frictional torque. Considering frictional phenomena, the relation- ship between the feed froce and the feed motor current id obtained. Feed force can be well estimated by feed motor current measurement considering frictional behavior. The relationship between the cutting force and the feed motor current is slightly different between up milling and down milling due to the effect of y direc- tional cutting force on frictional torque.
