Sound pressure levels in the receiving room while testing airborne sound insulation performance are varied by the measuring points. This may increase the measurement error, then decrease the measurement reliability. With this reason the research has carried out on the method to reduce deviations of sound pressure level in the ISO type rectangular laboratory focusing on the measurement of airborne sound insulation performance. Tests were made to see the effect of sound absorption in the receiving room, loudspeaker locations, microphones locations and flanking transmission path. Consequently, it was resulted that sound absorption in the receiving room and the loudspeaker location have influence on the sound level deviations especially in the low frequency. The microphone location was very important to get measurement reliability. The effective measuring point, which the sound level difference with average sound pressure level is within 2 dB, could yield most reliable average sound pressure level. Therefore it is necessary to find the effective measuring points in the receiving room. Flanking transmission path should be sealed using sound absorber or magnet etc. to prevent from lowering the sound insulation performance.
UT(Ultrasonic Test), one of the non-destructive tests, is the most common thickness measurement method for evaluating the wear rate in NPPs(Nuclear Power Plants). UT is used widely because it is easy and safe for use. However some amount of error inevitably occurs in attempting to measure the thickness. The error, that could make the thickness data thicker or thinner, may affect estimation of wear rate in pipes. NPPs are composed of a lot of pipes and components. Some of them are tested to check the current status during RFO(Re-Fueling Outage). Reliability analysis of UT is essential for evaluating pipe wear rate and establishing the long-term management plan in NPPs. This paper reviewed the cause of error occurrence and presented the UT data reliability analysis method. Also, this paper shows the application result of reliability analysis to the UT data acquired in NPPs.
Purpose: This study aimed to determine whether there are differences in subtalar joint range of motion (ROM) when using different measurement methods, and to determine inter- and intra-rater reliability of goniometry as used in clinical setting. Methods: Subjects were thirty-one healthy males and females (sixty-two ankles) living in Korea. Three raters with different clinical experiences measured inversion and eversion range of motion of the subtalar joint two times. Measurements were done with subjects prone (open kinetic chain) and standing (closed kinetic chain). Rater and measurement methods were based on analyzing differences in range of motion. Intra-class correlation coefficients (ICCs) were calculated to determine intra-rater and inter-rater reliability. Results: Mean subtalar jont range of motion for inversion ranged from $9.31^{\circ}$ to $11.94^{\circ}$ for eversion, it ranged from $6.73^{\circ}$ to $9.20^{\circ}$. The differences in ROM between raters and between measurement methods were significant (p<0.01). The ICCs for interrater reliability ranged from $0.02^{\circ}$ to $0.20^{\circ}$ for inversion and from $0.23^{\circ}$ to $0.39^{\circ}$ for eversion. Intrarater reliability ranged from $0.32^{\circ}$ to $0.78^{\circ}$ for inversion and from $0.45^{\circ}$ to $0.73^{\circ}$ for eversion. Conclusion: Subtalar joint inversion and eversion ROM show differences for measurement methods low reliability between different raters, and low to high intra-rater reliability within sessions.

Objective: This reliability study examined the effects of applying varying induced inward pressures using a transducer placed at 0° neutral ankle position (NEU) and 15° ankle dorsiflexion (DF) on tibialis anterior (TA) muscle thickness using a custom-made device with a force indicator during rehabilitative ultrasound imaging. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Twenty-four healthy subjects were recruited in this study. Two examiners measured the muscle thickness of the TA at 0° NEU and 15° DF in 3 conditions of inward pressures (1.0 N, 2.0 N, and 4.0 N) using a custom-made holder. The muscle thickness was measured three times for each of the conditions arranged in random order. For intra- and inter-rater reliability, the intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) with 95% confidence intervals, standard error of measurement, minimal detectable change, and coefficient of variation were analyzed. One-way repeated measures analysis of variance was conducted for investigating changes of TA muscle thickness according to the inward pressures of the transducers. Results: The intra-rater reliability of TA muscle thickness measurement was excellent (ICC3,1: 0.92-0.96) for all conditions (at both ankle joint angles per varying inward pressure). Likewise, the inter-rater reliability of TA muscle thickness measurement was excellent (ICC2,1: 0.89-0.97) under same conditions. The mean of TA thickness showed the trend of decreasing significantly with increased inward pressures at all ankle joint angles (p<0.05). Conclusions: Use of this custom-made device with a force indicator is useful to accomplish the high intra- and inter-rater reliability of TA muscle thickness measurement at both ankle joint angles in reducing the measurement error.
The user increases around the WiBro and in which the mobile broad band service is the wireless internet base technology HSDPA, that is the cellular phone foundation technique, and moreover the issue about the user effective quality guarantee emerges but the quality control of the wireless network is the incomplete actual condition. Therefore, the reliability verification according to the development of the system for the performance measure for the continued wireless data service and it and evaluation are needed for the quality control. In this paper, the wireless data service quality measurement system was implemented with the design. The same test environment as the existing network performance measurement program was built for the reliability verification of the embodied device for measuring quality and evaluation and the cost performance was performed. It could confirm that design and embodied wireless data service quality measurement system operated accurately in this paper through the quality measure result value analysis.

PURPOSE: We aims to promote the development of proprioception measurement using smartphones, goniometers, and laser pointers as compared to the conventional use of electrogoniometer measurement. METHODS: Measurements using an electrogoniometer were previously proved to be reliabile and valid. Among E-university students, 20 who had no fracture, operation history, or inflammatory arthritis were examined. These subjects had not performed regular exercise in the past 3 months. Proprioception measurements were performed using four different measurement tools, three times per day, for test-retest analysis. RESULTS: No notable test-retest differences were noted for any of the measurement methods (P>0.05). With regard to the test-retest reliability for each measurement method, we observed that the readings from both the electrogoniometer and smartphone have high reliability (ICC>0.80), whereas the readings from the laser pointer have moderate reliability (ICC>0.60). When assessing the concurrent validity between electrogoniometers with individual measurements, we did not observe any notable difference between the smartphone and electrogoniometer (P>0.05) and these tools in fact showed high correlation (r>0.60, P<0.05) and a moderate reliability (ICC>0.60). Moreover, there was no notable difference in between electrogoniometers and laser pointers (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: CONCLUSION: The findings of this suggested that proprioception can be measured by using smart-phones, and proved that this method has sufficient credibility. Moreover, we noted that the concurrent validity with smartphones was high in comparison with the conventional electrogoniometer, which also indicates the validity and credibility. Based on these findings, we conclude that the measurement of proprioception by using a smartphone can be widely adopted.

Background and purpose: We evaluated the reliability of two electrodermal measurement devices on meridian skin areas; Electro Acupuncture according to Dr. Voll (EAV) method and newly developed MIR-1. Methods: Eighteen volunteers were tested repeatedly on the same condition with each device. To explore the intra-rater, inter-rater, and test-retest reliabilities, one rater tested each subject twice in succession, then the other rater tested the subject in a row. Finally, retests on the subjects with each device were performed 1 week later. The reliability was determined by Pearson correlation and intraclass correlation statistics. Results: EAV method showed poor reliability, while MIR-1 showed good reliability. Conclusion: It is suggested that further research on the reliability and useful device in both fields of clinical practice and biomedical research.
Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) placement is a crucial problem for State Estimation (SE) of the power system, which can ensure that the power network is fully observed. Further, the observation reliability problem of the system has been concerned in the operation conditions. In this paper, based on modified weighted adjacent matrix ($A_w$), an optimal placement method is proposed to solve simultaneously two problems involving the optimal PMU placement problem and the observation reliability enhancement problem of the system. The purpose of the proposed method is to achieve both the minimum total cost and the maximum observation reliability, with a focus on increasing the security of observability, strengthening the observation reliability of buses as well as enhancing the effectiveness of redundancy. Simulations on IEEE 14, 24, 30 and 57 bus test systems are presented to justify the methodology. The results of this study show that the proposed method is not only ensuring the power network having the observability effectively but also enhancing significantly the observation reliability. Therefore, it can be a useful tool for SE of the power system.
This study was undertaken to develop the scapulometer, a measuring tool for scapular winging, and to determine the reliability of scapulometer. Thirty subjects with scapular winging greater than 2 cm participated in this study. Two examiners measured scapular winging using the scapulometer. Standardized measurement position of each subject was as follows: neutral position of shoulder and wrist, $90^{\circ}$ flexion of elbow, and cuff weight of 5% and 10% of body weight (BW) to neutral wrist. The interrater and intrarater reliability were calculated with an intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) with 95% confidence interval (CI) and standard error of measurement (SEM) at 5% BW and 10% BW. The level of scapular winging was tested between 5% BW and 10% BW with a paired t-test. The interrater reliability was shown to be high at 5% BW (ICC(2,k)=.955, 95% CI=.900~.979, SEM=.07) and at 10% BW (ICC(2,k)=.968, 95% CI=.930~.985, SEM=.06). The intrarater reliability was shown to be high at 5% BW (ICC(2,k)=.921, 95% CI=.842~.961, SEM=.09) and at 10% BW (ICC(2,k)=.906, 95% CI=.813~.954, SEM=.10). The level of scapular winging was significantly different between 5% BW and 10% BW. Conclusively, it is demonstrated that the scapulometer is an objective and qualitative measurement tool for scapular winging.
