D-CRLH Based Band Rejection Filter using a Concavo-Convex Coupled CPW Transmission Line

  • In this paper, the use of a dual composite right/left-handed coplanar waveguide (CPW) transmission line is proposed for the design of a band rejection filter. The notch property of the filter is achieved by combining the convex signal line with the shorted concave meander line, and the equivalent circuit model is extracted from the geometry of the unit cell for organizing the band rejection property. Then the equivalent parameters of the unit cell are analyzed to identify those behaviors. And the dispersion characteristics and energy distributions are simulated. In the end, the band rejection filter is manufactured by cascading two proposed unit cells. We show that the measurement result for the resonant frequency demonstrates good agreement with the simulation result and the band rejection filter provides a rejection performance of 17.5 dB at the stopband frequency ranging from 869 MHz to 894 MHz.

  • 하천부지의 사용과 개간사업 및 하천을 공학적인 측면에서 유지관리해야 된다는 것이 활발해짐에 따라 하천형태학의 연구가 주목을 받게 되었다. 그 가운데서도 하천의 사행에 관한 문제는 가장 중요하다 할 것이다. 사행특성의 분석에는 여러 가지의 이상적인 모델을 사용하여 왔으나 이와같은 이상적인 모델에서 얻어진 자료나 기하학적 변수의 결정방법은 개인의 선호에 따라 많은 다름을 보아왔다. 본 연구에서는 최근의 새로운 방법인 선형일반화 알고리즘에 의한 수로모델을 사행특성분석에 사용하였으며, 또한 수로형태의 모델화에서의 불합리함을 최대한 제거하기 위하여 통계적인 방법을 사용하였다. 그 결과 곡율의 분산정도는 사행밀도를 판별할 수 있는 지수가 될 수 있고 첨예도는 어떤 수로내에 직선 수로의특성을 표시하는 척도가 됨을 알 수 있었다.

Au/YBCO 박막 meander line의 퀜치회복에 대한 분석 (Analysis on quench recovery of Au/YBCO thin film mender lines)

  • We investigated quench recovery characteristics of Au/YBCO thin film meander lines. YB$a_{2}$$Cu_{3}$ $O_{7}$films were coated in-situ with a gold layer and patterned into 2 mm wide meander lines by photolithography. The limiters were tested with simulated fault currents at various source voltages. Resistance decreased first slowly and then rapidly to zero. Resistance vs. time curves for different source voltages fell on top of each other when translated horizontally. The slowly varying portion of data fell on straight lines of a slope on a semi-log scale at all source voltages. A heat balance equation reflecting heat loss from meander lines to surroundings explains these results quantitatively.

퀜치 시 초전도 한류기의 온도 (Temperature Behavior of Superconducting Fault Current Limiters during Quenches)

  • We investigated temperature behavior of superconducting fault current limiters (SFCLs) during quenches. Knowledge on temperature behavior during quenches is important to the design of SFCLs, because the temperature of SFCLs is related to their stability. SFCLs were fabricated by patterning $Au/YBa_2Cu_3O_7$ thin films grown on sapphire substrates into meander lines by photolithography. A gold film grown on the back side of the substrate was patterned into a meander line, and used as a temperature sensor. The front meander line was subjected to simulated AC fault currents, and the back line to DC current. They were immersed in liquid nitrogen during the experiment for effective cooling. Overall, temperature at the back side of SFCLs was close to that at the front side. It was closer at the beginning of faults, and at lower applied voltages. Temperature distribution at the back side was even except at the edge, as at the front side. These results tell that the whole SFCL was heated to similar degree during quenches, and that effective cooling of SFCLs at the back side is as important to the stability of SFCLs as at the front side. The results could be explained with the concept of heat transfer within the film.

미엔더 라인을 이용한 사다리꼴 다이폴 구조의 VHF 대역 능동 위상 배열안테나 복사소자 연구 (A Study on Radiator of VHF-Band Active Electronically Scanned Array with the Trapezoidal Dipole Structure Using Meander-Line)

  • 본 논문에서는 VHF 대역의 능동 위상 배열 안테나에 사용하기 위한 복사소자를 소형화하는 방안에 대해 연구하였다. 이를 위하여 미엔더 라인을 갖는 다이폴 안테나를 사다리꼴 모양으로 설계하여 성능 열화는 최소화하면서 다이폴 안테나 길이를 소형화하였다. 또한, 그리드 반사기를 사용하여 지향성을 향상시키고, 외부환경에 둔감하도록 하였으며, 배열 안테나에 적용하기 위한 구조로 설계하였다. 제작된 안테나는 VSWR 2:1 기준으로 약 9.1 %의 대역폭을 가지며, 4.24 dBi의 최대 이득을 갖는다. 그리고, 전후방비(FBR)는 15 dB 이상의 양호한 특성을 나타내었다.

  • 본 논문에서 적층 미엔더 라인 구조를 이용한 GPS/PCS/위성 DMB 무선 단말기용 소형 칩 안테나를 설계하였다. 제작된 안테나의 크기는 $12.52mm\times19.95mm\times1.05mm$이다. 제안된 안테나는 GPS, PCS, 위 성 DMB 미엔더라인으로 구성되어 있으며 주파수 비(FR: Frequency Ratio)와 반사 계수를 개선하기 위하여 각각의 미엔더 라인의 배열 및 비아를 통하여 커플링(Coupling)을 조절하여 제작된 안테나는 삼중 대역을 구현하였다. 공진 주파수는 1.696 GHz, 1.888 GHz, 2.680 GHz이며 임피던스 대역폭은 150 MHz, 120 MHz, 60 MHz를 나타내었다. 공진 주파수에서 최대 이득은 0.08 dBi, 1.70 dBi, -1.27 dBi를 나타내었다.

켄치 상태에서 고온 초전도 한류기의 전자기적 거동 (Electromagnetic Behavior of High-Tc Superconducting Fault Current Limiters under the Quench State)

  • In this paper we analyzed the electromagnetic behavior of a superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) under the quench state using FEM. The analysis model used in this work is 5.5 KVA meander-line type SFCLs which are currently developed by Superconductor Power System Lab in Korea Electric Power Research Institute. Meshes of 3,650 triangular elements were used in the analysis of this SFCL. Analysis results showed that the distribution of current density was concentrated to inner curved line in meander-line type SFCL and the maximum current density was 14.61 A/$m^2$ and also the maximum Joule heat was 2,030 W/$m^2$ in this region. We think that the new and the modified structure must be considered for an uniform distribution of the electromagnetic field.

대칭 미앤더 급전 선로를 이용한 사다리꼴 평면 UWB 안테나 설계 (Design for Trapezoidal Planar UWB Antenna Using Symmetry Meander Feedline)

  • 이 논문은 저주파수 영역에서 광대역을 실현하기 위해 대칭형 미앤더 급전 선로를 이용한 사다리꼴 평면 UWB 안테나의 설계를 제안한다. 제안된 설계 안테나의 크기는 $15.5{\times}2.1{\times}1.6mm^3$이며, 설계에 고려된 유전체는 4.4의 복소 비유전율을 가진다. 계산된 대역폭은 9.52 GHz($1.31{\sim}10.83$ GHz)이고, 측정된 대역폭은 반사 손실 -10 dB 이하에서 9.1 GHz($1.5{\sim}10.6$ GHz)이며, 이 대역은 UWB 안테나 대역폭을 만족한다. 또한, 시뮬레이션상 복사 패턴과 측정 패턴이 각각의 주파수에서 서로 잘 일치하는 것을 보여주고 있다.

The Properties of Open-Ended Meander Slot Antenna and its Applications to Antenna Design

  • The various properties such as the electric current distribution, resonant frequency and radiation patterns of open-ended meander slot antenna placed on a small ground plane, are investigated to give the help in performing antenna design. Based upon these characteristics, the designed antenna which is only 22mm($0.06{\lambda}_g$) in height and 31mm($0.09{\lambda}_g$) in width can operate at the 433 MHz with the measured radiation efficiency of 8% and end-fire radiation pattern. These properties make the antenna suitable for the handheld device such as the wireless remote controller.

Au/YBCO 박막의 크기가 퀜치 거동에 미치는 영향 (Size Effect on Quench Development in Au/YBCO Films)

  • We investigated the size effect on quench development in $Au/YBa_2Cu_3O_7$ (YBCO) thin film meander lines on sapphire substrates. The meander lines were fabricated by patterning YBCO films coated with gold layers. The lines were subjected to simulated AC fault current, and immersed in liquid nitrogen during the experiment. After the initial rapid rise, the resistance increased moderately and then slowly. In 4 inch-diameter meander lines, the period during which the resistance increased moderately was considerably longer than in 2 inch-diameter line. Moderate increase of resistance was originated from quench propagation. The film temperature was about 180 K at the point when the propagation was completed. The rate of resistance increase after the quench completion was not affected by the film size.
