증기조건 향상에 따른 증기터빈 기술동향

  • For many years, T/G Supplier has constructed a number of thermal power plants and researched to improve the performance and the reliability of steam turbine, which are achieved by advances in design and materials technology. In recent, interest is renewed in advance steam condition as means of improving economy of thermal power plant and reducing environmental pollution. Improvements in the maximum power have been driven by the development of advanced rotor and bucket material and longer last stage bucket. Improvements in efficiency have been brought through advance in mechanical efficiency and thermodynamic efficiency. This paper describes a number of new steam path design features introduced to the steam turbine product. And also this paper describes new design technologies' development, new technologies' trend and technologies' development for ultra-super critical steam turbine.

  • In this paper, we examine the steady state dynamic electromechanical behavior of an eccentric Yoffe crack in a piezoelectric ceramic layer bonded between two orthotropic elastic layers under the combined anti-plane mechanical shear and in-plane electrical loadings. We adopted permeable crack face condition. Numerical values on the dynamic energy release rate are obtained. The initial crack propagation orientation for PZT-5H piezoceramic is also predicted by maximum energy release rate criterion.

  • This paper describes the result of carbody load test. The purpose of the test is to evaluate an safety which carbody structure shall be considered fully sufficient rigidity so as to satisfy proper system function under maximum load and operating condition. Carbody material applied a stainless steel and an aluminum alloy, The stainless steel model is the carbody of a motor car which is delivering to KNR line 1 in 2002 and the aluminum alloy model is the carbody of a motor car which is delivering to GWANGJU line 1 in 2003.

파이프를 이용한 플랜지의 성형특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Forming Characteristics of Flange Using Pipe)

  • This study is aimed to find out the optimal forming conditions by comparing and analyzing material flow, deformation pattern, and a forming load through rigid-plastic FEM for a flange using pipe. Flanges are widely used for various purposes as connectors of industrial steel pipes which are manufactured by drawing process. The forming feature of flange was reviewed through both heading process and radial extrusion process in a cold working condition. As a result of simulation, the shape of flange can not be made by heading process, but made by radial extrusion process. The effects of design factors, such as gap-height, die-comer radius, and frictional factors on maximum forming load and deformation pattern are investigated for radial extrusion process.

시판표백제에 의한 농축세제의 세척성 향상과 섬유 손상 (The Detergency Improvement and Fabric Damage in the Washing Treatment by Commercial Bleaching Agents)

  • In order to investigate the detergency effect of stained cotton and PET fabric, respectively, these fabrics stained with solid soils such as carbon black, liquid paraffin, and fat and examined the detergency effect in the optimum washing condition. The evaluation of washing efficiency of washed fabrics studied by using the surface reflectance measurement before and after washing treatment. The maximum detergency effect of stained cotton and PET fabric obtained in the mixed washing liquor-bleachig agen(ml)/concentrated washig agent(g/l). To obtain the excellent detergency effect, 2-step washing treatment, pre-washing by bleaching agent only and washing by concentrated detergent, is preferred. In comparing the detergency of polyester and cotton fabric, the detergency of stained polyester fabric superior than that of stained cotton fabric because of the difference of adhesive force between soil material and fabric in preparing soled stained fabric. In this study, we also studied the degree of fabric damage by the measurement of tensile strength change. From the results of the tensile strength measurement, the damage of washed fabric before and after washing treatment was nearly changed.

고속 엔드밀 가공에서 가공변질층의 특성 (Characteristics of damaged layer in high speed end milling)

  • In this study, residual stress was investigated experimentally to evaluate damaged layer in high-sped machining. In machining difficult-to-cut material, residual stress remaining in machined surface was mainly speared as compressive stress. The scale of this damaged layer depends upon cutting speed, feed per tooth and radial cutting depth. Damaged layer was measured by optical microscope. The micro-structure of damaged layer was a mixed maternsite and austenite. depth of damaged layer is increased with increasing of cutting temperature, cutting force and radial depth. On the other hand, that is slightly decreased with decreasing of cutting force. The increase of tool wear causes a shift of the maximum residual stress in machined surface layer.

고강도 ADI 의 자동차 부품개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Austempered Ductile Iron With High Strength and High Toughness for Automotive Parts)

  • The application of this new design approach called fracture mechanics allow one to determine the maximum allowable stress from the knowledge of the largest expected flow size and the plane strain fracture toughness of a material. In this study we examined the relation between retained austenite, mechanical property and fracture toughness accompanied by austempering heat treatment. Fracture toughness values and retained austenite volume were higher with the ADI(austempered ductile iron) which were austempered at $380^{\circ}C$ than austempered at $320^{\circ}C$. Additionally, fracture toughness values were increased for 1~2 hour austempering time but it was slowly decreased for 5 hour ADI maintaining the predominant fracture toughness($K_{IC}:83MPa{\sqrt{m}}$) is obtained following condition, namely, austempering temperature and time ($380^{\circ}C$ and 1 hour).

유압 베인 펌프에서의 탄성유체윤활 해석 (Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication Analysis in Hydraulic Vane Pump)

  • Hydraulic vane pumps are widely used in various hydraulic systems because of its compactness and light weight. It is well known that the vanes and cam ring are separated by very thin liquid films which result in the EHL state. Contrary to the case of cylindrical roller bearings, the inlet and side boundary pressures are much higher than the atmospheric pressure. In this paper, a numerical solution of the EHL of finite line contacts between the cam ring and vane tip with profiled ends is presented. Using a finite difference method with non-uniform grids and the Newton-Raphson method, converged solutions are obtained for moderate load and material parameters. The EHL pressure distribution and film shape are considerably affected by pump delivery pressure and the side boundary condition applied. Both the maximum pressure and the minimum film thickness always occurred near the edge regions. The present results can be used in the design of optimum vane profile in hydraulic vane pump.

  • A low temperature differential model stirling engine is manufactured, and its operation characteristics are measured and analyzed by SIMPLE analysis model, in which heat transfer processes are simply considered. The heat transfer coefficients between working fluid and heat sources in the analysis are estimated by comparing the P-V diagrams by experiment and by analysis. This result may be very useful for further design and manufacture of model Stilting engines as well as real engines because it provides a comparatively correct predictions of the operation conditions and power output. It will be also conveniently used as an educational material for mechanical engineering students because it can be a nice example of optimal design process to decide the phase angle and compression ratio of engine design with a simple but realistic simulation.

단순 기어형상의 셰이빙가공에 있어서 작업 변수의 영향 (Influence of Working Variables in Simplified Gear Shaving Process)

  • Shaving technology is one of the significant metal forming technologies which can make the smooth and fine sheared surface of products after shearing process. The sheared surface on the side wall of the cutting edge is very important because it functions as a basic surface for measuring the dimensions of product. Effective sheared surface after shaving can be influenced by several working variables such as shaving allowance, shaving clearance, type of material and profile of cutting edge. The influence of these variables on shaving characteristics was investigated in this study. A cut-off die to make the simplified gear-shaped products was manufactured. Three kinds of sheet metals (AL5052, SPCC and SAPH440) of 3mm thickness were firstly sheared and then shaved for four shaving allowances and three sharing clearances. It was shown through experiments that the optimum working condition to give the maximum effective sheared surface in shaving was found ; Shaving allowance is 0.2mm and Shaving clearance is 0.01mm.
