Presently, sleep disorders are rapidly increasing due to sudden social development and lifestyle diversification. Among the various factors contributing to comfortable sleep, bedclothes are a major factor that readily influence the sleeping conditions, as they directly come in contact with the human body. This study therefore researches use and purchasing status of bedclothes by consumers, as well as the subjective satisfaction. This would accordingly help us to understand the consumers' performance needs, and collect basic data to develop bedclothes that assist comfortable sleep. This study used multiple choice questions and a 5-point Likert scale in a survey-style research. The results of the study indicate that consumers prudently considered practicality and durability, as bedclothes are seldom purchased. The most preferred material was cotton, but the use of microfiber, a new material, has also increased. Further, consumers' preferred lightweight bedclothes that displayed excellent water absorption, thermal insulation, durability, detergency, and flexibility. Hence, bedclothes developed according to the results of this study are expected to aid comfortable sleep.

This is a case report of surgically treated rupture of Valsalva Sinus aneurysm combined with VSD. He has been relatively healthy until about one month before admission, when during bath, he felt abruptly palpitation, left chest pain and exertional dyspnea. These symptoms have progressed. On admission, thrill was palpable and continuous machinery murmur was audible on 2nd and 3rd intercostal space along the left sternal border. A rupture of Valsalva`s sinus aneurysm was confirmed by aortography and echocardiography but a small VSD was found by cardiotomy in open heart surgery. On 11th Sep. 1978, open heart surgery was performed. Valsalva`s sinus aneurysm came out from right coronary aortic sinus and ruptured into the right ventricle. It sized 1.2X1.5X1.5 cm. Ruptured opening was noted on apex of aneurysm [0.8X0.8cm], VSD [1. 0X0. 3cm in size] was just below the aortic annulus. The aneurysmal sac was removed on neck. After that, VSD and aneurysmal orifice were closed together with interrupted mattress sutures on same plane. The postoperative course was uneventful and discharged three weeks after open heart surgery.

A 17 year old female patient with Ebstein`s anomaly received surgical treatment for WPW syndrome and AV nodal reentrant supraventricular tachycardia[SVT] Electrophysiologic study revealed that an anomalous pathway was located in the right posterolateral portion and antegrade dual AV nodal pathway responsible for AV nodal reentrant tachycardia. The patient was underwent surgery on February 18, 1987. Intraoperative mapping was used to define the location of accessory pathway. The accessory pathway was cryoablated through the epicardium. Simultaneously discrete cryoablation around the perinodal area was performed to prevent AV nodal reentrant SVT. The atrialized right ventricle of Ebstein`s anomaly was plicated with 11 pledget mattress sutures under the cardiopulmonary bypass. Two and half years after surgery, the patient has no evidence of WPW syndrome or supraventricular tachycardia.

During a 3-year period (2001-2004) 18 animals were surgically treated because of abdominal wall defects (hernia). Out of 18 animals 8 were bovines, 5 caprines and 5 canines. In each case the defect was bridged with carbon fibres. Carbon fibres were placed either in simple interrupted pattern or as mattress overlapping pattern. All the cases were successfully treated and no complication was observed up to six months postoperatively.

10 patients with mitral regurgitation associated with various congenital cardiac anomalies were treated by reconstructive techniques in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Hanyang University Hospital during the period of 2 years from 1982 to 1984. There were mitral valvular cleft in one case, chordae tendineae rupture associated with congenital multiple cardiac-anomalies [VSD, PDA, prolapse of aortic non-coronary cusp through VSD] in one case, elongated chordae tendineae after removal of left atrial myxoma in one case, and mitral annular dilatation associated with VSD in 3 cases, large PDA in 2 cases, aortic regurgitation [bicuspid valve] in one case, and unknown origin in one case. Owing to the various pathology above mentioned, reconstructive surgical approach to mitral incompetence is accordingly complicated and a combination of the following different procedures were properly used case by case, that is, suture of chordae tendineae, shortening of elongated chordae tendineae, closure of VSD, ligation of PDA, aortic valvuloplasty, mitral annuloplasty with mattress suture, etc. All patients were survived and they have been excellent postoperative results.

KEPCO signed up with LS CABLE as a contractor for HVDC submarine cable construction in February 2009. The desk research has been completed in may 2009. Also, Cable route and the protection method will be selected by November 2009. The tentative cable route between Jindo and Jeju which is consisted of sea farms and shipping route zone will reach almost 105km. The oceanographic survey for the selection of protection method will be carried out and the survey lists are consisted of MBES, SSS, CPT, ADSP. The protection methods such as burial, Concrete Mattress, UP Pipe, Rock Berm will be selected as per each condition of sea area after the oceanographic survey is completed. Kepco has developed variable methods based on the maintenance experience for HVDC submarine cable between HAENAM and JEJU. Based on the such a accumulated know-how, it can be expected for the confidence and stability of the 2nd HVC project to be improved.

Communications of coronary arteries with the cardiac cavities have first time been described by Krause in 1865 in a case of an accessory artery draining into the pulmonary artery and later Cayla in a case of a right coronary artery entering the right ventricle. The initial cases have been found accidentally at autopsies, however In recent years after the Introduction of angiography and coronary arteriography, the malformation Is diagnosed during life and is corrected surgically. These conditions are unusual entitles since the advent of angiography they are being diagnosed with increasing frequency. Three patients who had surgical correction of coronary-cardiac chamber fistula at our hospital are presented. In the first case and second case, coronary arteriovenous fistula was corrected horizontal mattress suture ligation with pladget under the cardiopulmonary bypass and third case was corrected double ligation with cardiopulmonary bypass standby. The postoperative courses were uneventful. They discharged without any fistula related complica-tions.

A micro- computer system has been designed to evaluate the performance of commercial infant incubator and to develope the temperature controller of new incubator. The measure- ment system used a hybrid of analog electronics for amplification, integration, and switches and micro-computer for data storage, data display, and control of relay. This approach has been applied to measure the warm-up time, temperature stability, open/close door and port- holes, and temperature distribution on the mattress. The micro-computer provides on-line ac cess of multi-point temperature data, simplifies the analog part of the circuit and gives the flexibility.

A pilot study was undertaken to examine the possible health effects of electromagnetic fields (EMFs). An experimental study was performed for two weeks of preexposure, exposure, postexposure period of February-May 1997 to determine changes in melatonin levels in urine of five volunteers before or after exposure to electric mattress during their normal sleeping hours. An urine sample was collected at about 8 a.m. right after getting up from each volunteer. Average melatonin levels seemed to be 1.6 times lower during EMF exposure period for two weeks than the corresponding levels during preexposure period. Mean melatonin levels in postexposure period were lower than the corresponding levels in preexposure period. It suggested that melatonin levels were likely to take more two weeks for recovering the preexposure melatonin level. Further research is underway with regard to EMF exposure effects on melatonin levels between occupational and nonoccupational groups.

In this study, a real-time fall detection system based on a smartphone equipped with three-axis accelerometer and magnetometer was proposed and evaluated. The proposed system provides a service that detects falls in real time, triggers alarm sound, and sends emergency SMS(Short Message Service) if the alarm is not deactivated within a predefined time. When both of the acceleration magnitude and angle displacement of the smartphone attached to waist belt are greater than predefined thresholds, it is detected as a fall. The proposed system was evaluated against activities of daily living(walking, jogging, sitting down, standing up, ascending stairs, and descending stairs) and unintended falls induced by a proprietary pneumatic-powered mattress. With the thresholds of acceleration magnitude 1.7g and angle displacement $80^{\circ}$, it showed 96.5% accuracy to detect the falls while all the activities of daily living were not detected as fall.
