The purpose of this study is to investigate the mathematical disposition and mathematical communication level of elementary school students in the process of applying mathematical journal writing activities. For this study, 21 third grade students in elementary school were observed when they participated in mathematical journal writing activities while studying number and operation area. According to the Mathematical disposition pre-test and post-test results, mathematical confidence, mathematical flexibility, mathematical will, and mathematical reflection increased and it was statistically proved. Expression and explanation level of the mathematical communication writing area also increased as the mathematical journal writing activity continued. Thus, mathematical journal writing activities can help to enhance the core competencies of the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum while make students 'to develop and transform mathematical expressions' and 'to express oneself'. Also, it provides implications of including active writing activities such as mathematical journal writing activities into mathematics classroom. Furthermore, the change in mathematical communication level according to mathematical disposition level was not statistically significant. Therefore, when providing active writing activities including mathematical journal writing activities into classroom, it is necessary to understand students' individual characteristics and to encourage communication to be active rather than giving feedback based on one's mathematical disposition level.

본 연구는 고등학교 2학년 학생을 대상으로 수학일지 쓰기가 수학적 태도에 어떠한 영향을 주는가를 알아보는 데 있다. 실제로 수학일지 쓰기를 통해 고등학생들은 성취감을 느끼고 반성적 사고를 하게 되며, 수학적 이해과정에 도움을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 수학일지 쓰기가 학생들의 학습태도를 긍정적으로 바꾸며 수업에 적극적으로 참여하게 하였다. 반면 자신의 생각이 노출되는 것에 대한 부담을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다.

수학 과목은 위계성이 강하기 때문에 조금씩 생긴 수학에 대한 결손은 학년이 올라갈수록 더욱 깊어지고 심화된다. 이에 수학학습 부진학생들은 수학 수업이 더 어렵게 느껴지고 흥미 는 떨어지고 있다. 교육과정도 학습자 위주의 교육을 지향하고 있지만 아직은 교사중심으로 수학수업이 이루어지며 학생과 교사 사이에 서로의 의견을 주고받을 방법이 특별히 없는 것 이 현실이다. 따라서 본 연구는 수학학습 부진 학생들의 수학적 태도를 변화시키고 수학성취 도 향상을 꾀하기 위한 방안으로써 수학일지 쓰기를 택하였다. 중학교 1학년 학생들 중 수학 성취도가 40% 미만인 학생들을 대상으로 6주간의 수학일지를 쓰기를 실시한 후 수학일지에 대한 반응, 수학성취도에 미친 영향을 분석해 보았다. 그 결과로 수학일지 쓰기가 학생들에 게 능동적이고 능률적인 학습태도와 수학에 대한 자신감을 갖게 함으로써 수학 성취도에 향상을 가져줌을 알 수 있었다.

본 연구에서는 의사소통 중심의 수학 쓰기 학습 전략을 활용한 수업이 학생들의 수학 학업 성취도와 수학적 성향에 어떤 영향을 주는지 알아보고자 하였다. 그 목적을 달성하기 위하여 동질성이 검증된 실험집단과 비교집단을 선정하여 실험집단에는 자신의 생각과 느낌 쓰기, 문제해결 과정쓰기, 개념 설명쓰기 등 3가지 유형의 의사소통 중심 수학 쓰기 학습 전략을 활용한 수업을 하고, 비교집단에서는 교과서 및 지도서에 준한 일반 수업을 진행하였다. 그 결과 비교집단에 비교하여 실험집단의 학생들의 수학 학업 성취도가 유의미하게 향상되었으며 수학적 성향에도 긍정적인 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다.

In this paper, we study the effect of writing activity as mathematical communication on the students's mathematics achievement, learning attitude, and mathematical tendency. For this purpose, we construct a experimental class and then analyze the students' change in those aspects after applying three-divided-note writing activity and colleague feedback on their works those students are in the experimental class. As a result of the experiment, we find that three-divided-note writing activity and colleague feedback made some significant changes on the students achievement in mathematics, learning attitude, but does not affect on mathematical tendency. We also offer some suggestions for further research. Firstly, the mathematical communication ability must be stressed in mathematics education. For this purpose, we need to develop the teaching and the evaluation method to use not only writing but also reading, speaking, and listening skills so that many teachers can apply this method easily to their classes. Second, we need to fix some realistic problems such as fair evaluation , the numbers of students per class, the numbers of lesson, and too much extra-work, and so on. Thirdly, we suggest to explore some methods for extending three- divided-note writing activity to evaluate mathematical essay and to study educational effects of colleague feedback on mathematics performance assessment.

제7차 수학과 교육과정에서 강조하는 ‘수학적 힘’을 기르는 초등 수학 교육이 되기 위해서는 학생들에게 사고를 유발시키는 기회의 제공과 함께 사고 과정을 구조화시켜 줄 수 있는 교수-학습 방법이 필요하다. 수학 학습에서 쓰기의 활용은 학생 자신의 생각을 끌어내고 정리하는 사고 과정을 거치게 되므로, 효과적인 의사소통과 수학적 사고 과정의 촉진을 위한 유용한 방법이 된다고 생각한다. 이 연구에서는 6학년 수학 교과서 분석을 통해 수학 쓰기 유형 및 이를 적용한 수업 모형을 구안하고, 수학 쓰기가 학생들의 수학 학습에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 실험 대상을 실험반과 비교반으로 나누어 실험, 조사한 결과, 수학 쓰기 활동을 한 실험반 학생들의 수학 학습 능력과 학업 성취가 더 우수하게 나타났다. 이 연구는 위의 결과를 바탕으로 다양한 수학 쓰기 유형을 활용한 수학과 교수-학습에 대한 논의 및 제언을 담고 있다.

본 연구의 목적은 아동들의 수학적 의사소통 능력 중 말하기 능력과 쓰기 능력에 대해서 심도 깊게 알아보고, 말하기 능력과 쓰기 능력에서 어떤 차이점이 있는지를 조사하는 것이다. 3명의 5학년 아동들이 본 연구에 참여하였고 도형 영역에서 그들의 말하기 능력과 쓰기 능력이 분석되었다. 아동들은 자신이 알고 있는 수학적 개념이나 문제 해결 과정을 말 또는 글로 설명하기 위해서 적절한 수학적 언어를 선택하여 사용하는데 어려움을 나타내고 있었다. 본 연구에 참여한 아동들의 경우에는 말하기 능력이 쓰기 능력보다 좋은 것으로 나타났다.

최근 수학교육에서는 수학 쓰기 활동이 활발히 연구되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 '수학동화'라는 쓰기 활동을 새롭게 구안하여 학생들에게 적용해 보고, 이를 통해 나타나는 학생들의 인지적 정의적 특성을 분석하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 수학동화 쓰기 활동을 하면서 많은 학생들이 이미 학습한 수학적 지식에 대한 반성적 사고를 통해 학습한 수학 내용을 재구성하고 응용하였다. 또한, 수학동화 쓰기 활동을 하는 동안 학생들의 수학적 의사소통 활동이 매우 활발해졌으며, 이를 통해 학생들은 학습한 수학적 지식에 대한 재학습의 기회를 갖게 되었다. 학생들은 수학동화 쓰기 활동을 통해 수학의 실제적인 활용 장면을 스스로 찾을 수 있게 되었으며, 수학 학습에 대한 필요성을 깨닫게 되었다. 뿐만 아니라, 활동 과정에서 많은 학생들이 수학 학습에 대한 즐거움과 성취감을 느끼게 됨으로써 긍정적인 수학적 성향을 형성해 나갔으며, 스스로 의지를 가지고 활동에 참여함으로써 수학학습에 집중하게 되었다. 수학동화 쓰기 활동을 하는 동안 학생들이 보여준 이와 같은 특성은 오늘날의 수학교육이 추구하고자 하는 긍정적인 측면들을 많이 보여주고 있으므로, 학교 현장에서 적극 활용해 볼 만 하다.

본 연구에서는 초등수학에서 상호글쓰기를 통한 활동이 수학적 의사소통 능력 및 수학적 성향에 미치는 영향을 조사하고 분석하여, 이러한 상호글쓰기 활동이 수학적 의사소통 능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 상호글쓰기 학습을 적용하기 위한 기반을 조성하고, 3-나 수학과 교육과정을 분석하여 개념 형성 수업, 원리 발견 수업, 문제 해결 수업으로 분류하여 차시를 추출하고, 그에 맞는 상호글쓰기 학습지를 개발하여 적용하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 상호글쓰기 활동은 수학적 의사소통 능력의 영역 중 말하기(토의하기), 쓰기, 표상하기 영역에 있어서 효과적이었으며, 둘째, 학생들의 수학적 성향에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 특히 수학적 흥미, 수학을 공부하고자 하는 의지, 수학의 중요성을 깨닫고 필요하다고 느끼는 가치 부분에서 긍정적으로 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of cookbook making activities on young children's mathematical concept and writing development. The participants were comprised of 50 five-year-old children from two intact classes from a kindergarten in Gyeonggi province, and they were divided into an experimental and a comparison group. The experimental group participated in cooking activities and produced cookbooks as extension activities whereas the comparison group carried out only cooking activities. The results indicated that the children in the experimental group received statistically higher scores in mathematical concept- and writing-tests, suggesting that cookbook making activities are a useful educational tool for enhancing young children's mathematical concepts and facilitating their writing development.
