  • High speed rotational arc sensing is an important method to detect the torch deviation during automatic seam tracking of arc welding. In this paper, a mathematic model of high speed rotational arc sensing is analyzed. The simulation results are consistent with the experimental results. The current waveforms at the beginning of the welding are different from those at middle of the welding because of the formation of the weld bead profile. The signal patterns for seam tracking and end-point detection are proposed. A phase shift between the rotation and the current variation is also discovered in the experiments.

  • Fuzzy control has been researched for application of industrial processes which have no accurate mathematical model and could not controlled by conventional methods because of a lack of quantitative input-output data. Intelligent control approach based on fuzzy logic could directly reflex human thinking and natural language to controller comparing with conventional methods. In this paper, fuzzy controller is implemented to acquire operator's knowledge. The tested system is constructed for sending a ball to the goal position using wind from two DC motors in the path. This system contains non-linearity and uncertainty because of the characteristic of aerodynamics inside the path. Ball position is measured by a vision camera. The system used in this experiment could be hardly modeled by mathematic methods and could not be easily controlled by linear control manners. The controller, in this paper is designed based on the input-output data and experimental knowledge obtained by trials.

  • A coupled inductor-dual boost-inverter (CIDBI) with a differential structure has been presented for application to a micro-inverter photovoltaic module system due to its turn ratio of a high-voltage level. However, it is difficult to design a CIDBI converter with a conventional PI regulator to be stable and achieve good dynamic performance, given the fact that it is a high order system. In view of this situation, a sliding mode control (SMC) strategy is introduced in this paper, and two different sliding mode controllers (SMCs) are proposed and adopted in the left and right side of two Boost sub-circuits to implement the corresponding regulation of the voltage and current. The schemes of the SMCs have been elaborated in this paper including the establishment of a system variable structure model, selection of the sliding surface, determination of the control law, and presentation of the reaching conditions and sliding domain. Finally, the mathematic analysis and the proposed SMC are verified by experimental results.

  • Course keeping is hard to implement under the condition of the propeller stopping or reversing at slow speed for berthing due to the ship's dynamic motion becoming highly nonlinear. To solve this problem, a practical Maneuvering Modeling Group (MMG) ship mathematic model with propeller reversing transverse forces and low speed correction is first discussed to be applied for the right-handed single-screw ship. Secondly, a novel PID-based nonlinear feedback algorithm driven by bipolar sigmoid function is proposed. The PID parameters are determined by a closed-loop gain shaping algorithm directly, while the closed-loop gain shaping theory was employed for effects analysis of this algorithm. Finally, simulation experiments were carried out on an LPG ship. It is shown that the energy consumption and the smoothness performance of the nonlinear feedback control are reduced by 4.2% and 14.6% with satisfactory control effects; the proposed algorithm has the advantages of robustness, energy saving and safety in berthing practice.

  • With the mathematic linear model of a combustor which consists of a combustion chamber and injectors, the analysis of low frequency dynamic characteristics of a liquld-propellant rocket engine combustor was performed. Propellant mass flowrate was varied by combustion chamber pressure feedback, therefore low frequency oscillation was appeared. Increasing the time constant of a combustion chamber and injector pressure differences and decreasing combustion time delay increased the combustor system stability. The variation of injector time constant little affected stability. The system was always stable, when there was no combustion time delay. Increasing combustion time delay decreased oscillation frequency and damping ratio, and the system eventually became unstable.

  • RPM is the one of the sensor models which is proposed by Open GIS Consortium (OGC) as image transfer standard. And it is the sensor model for end-users using IKONOS, a commercial pushbroom satellite, imagery which provide about 1m ground resolution. Parameters called RPC which is IKONOS RFM coefficients are serviced to end-users. But if some users try to make additional effort to get rigorous geo-spatial information, it is necessary to apply mathematic or abstract sensor models, because vendors don't offer any ancillary data for physical sensor models such as satellite orbit and navigation. Abstract sensor models such as pushbroom Direct Linear Transform (DLT) require many GCPs well distributed in imagery, and mathematic sensor model such as RFM, polynomials need much more GCPs. Therefore RPC modification using additional a few GCPs is the best solution. In this paper, two methods are proposed to modify RPC. One is method to use pseudo GCPs generated in normalized cubic, and another method uses parameters observations and a few GCPs. Through two methods, we get improvement of accuracy 50% and over.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze of the effect in Mathematics Teachers beliefs on their students beliefs by Latent Class Regression Model (LCRM). For this analysis, the study used the findings and surveys of Kang, Hong (2020) who developed a belief profile by analyzing the mathematical beliefs of 60 high school teachers and 1,850 second-year high school students learning from them through the Latent Class Analysis (LCA). As a result It was observed that 'Nature of Mathematics', 'Mathematic Teaching' and 'Mathematical Ability' of mathematics teachers beliefs influence the mathematical beliefs of students. The teacher's belief of 'Nature of Mathematics' statistically significant effects on students' beliefs in 'School Mathematics', 'Problem Solving', 'Mathematics Learning'. The teacher's belief of 'Teaching Mathematics', 'Mathematical Ability' statistically significant effects on students' beliefs in 'School Mathematics', 'Problem Solving', 'Self-Concept'. The results of this study can give a preview of the phenomenon in which teacher's mathematical beliefs are reproduced into student's mathematical beliefs. In addition, the results of observation of this study can be used to the contents that can achieve the purpose of reorientation for mathematics teachers.

  • To insure stable operation and eliminate twice torque ripple, a topology for a six phase permanent magnet synchronous generator (SP-PMSG) with a neutral point connected together was analyzed in this paper. By adopting an extended transformation matrix, the mathematic model of the space vector control was established. The voltage and torque equations were deduced while considering the third harmonic flux and inductance. In addition, the suppression third harmonic method and the closed loop control strategy were proposed. A comparison analysis indicates that the cooper loss minimum method and the current magnitude minimum method can meet different application requirements. The voltage compensation amount for each of the methods was deduced which also takes into account the third harmonic effect. A simulation and experimental result comparison validates the consistency through theoretical derivation. It can be seen that all of the two control strategies can meet the requirements of post-fault.

  • The purpose of this paper is to improve the hysteresis characteristics of a stack type piezoelectric actuator using system identification and tracking control. Recently, several printing methods that cost less and are faster than previous semiconductor processes have been developed for the production of electric paper and RFID. The system proposed in this study prints by spraying the molten metal, and consists of a nozzle, heating furnace, operating actuator, and an XYZ 3-axis stage, As an operating system, the piezoelectric(PZT) method has very valuable uses. However, the PZT actuator has a very big hysteresis characteristic due to the ferroelectric characteristics of the PZT element. This causes problems in the system position control characteristics and deteriorates the performance of the system. In this study, an investigation was conducted to improve the hysteresis characteristics of the PZT actuator that has an output displacement for the input voltage. The study proposed a inverse hysteresis model, a mathematic modeling method that can express the geometric relationship between voltage and displacement, in order to reduce the hysteresis of the PZT actuator. In addition, system identification and PID control methods were examined. Also, it was confirmed that the proposed control strategy gives good precision position control performance.
