In this paper, an analysis of the inflowing pollution load of the rivers in Hampyeong bay showed the average organic matter pollution loads of BOD, COD, and TOC to be 79.7 kg-BOD/day, 144.06 kg-COD/day, and 93.0 kg-TOC/day, respectively. The inflowing organic matter pollution load was the heaviest in Sonbul dike, followed by Jupo bridge and Yangman complex. With regard to season, the load characteristics were outstanding in July, the rainy period in the summer. The average inflowing pollution loads of nutrients were 20.9 kg-DIN/day, 17.1 kg-DIP/day, 148 kg-TN/day, and 37.4 kg-TP/day A comparison of the inflowing nutrients loads for each river showed the load to be the heaviest in Yangman complex, followed by Baegok bridge and Jupo bridge. In the experiment on the material budgets of Hampyeong bridge conducted using a box model, the detention time of fresh water was found to be 52.4 days, with the bay displaying the characteristics of a so dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN) in the nutrients material budgets, ${\Delta}DIN$ values were found to be negative, indicating the tendency of consumption and open sea leak by photosynthesis to be higher than the nitrogen that flowed in. As for dissolved inorganic phosphorus (DIP), ${\Delta}DIP$ showed positive values, indicating a tendency for accumulation as the supply through organic matter decomposition, elution load of sediments, and inflowing load of the river turned out to be higher than the consumption by phytoplankton and outflow to open sea.

In this study, a composite phase change material (CPCM) produced using the SOL-GEL technique was developed as a thermal energy storage medium for low-temperature applications. Tetradecane and activated carbon (AC) were used as the core and supporting materials, respectively. The tetradecane phase change material (PCM) was impregnated into the porous structure of AC using the vacuum impregnation method, and a thin layer of silica gel was coated on the prepared composite using the SOL-GEL process, where tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) was used as the silica source. The thermal performance of the CPCM was analysed using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). DSC results showed that the pure tetradecane PCM had melting and freezing temperatures of 6.4℃ and 1.3℃ and corresponding enthalpies 226 J/g and 223.8 J/g, respectively. The CPCM exhibited enthalpy of 32.98 J/g and 27.7 J/g during the melting and freezing processes at 7.1℃ and 2.4℃, respectively. TGA test results revealed that the AC is thermally stable up to 500℃, which is much higher than the decomposition temperature of the pure tetradecane, which is around 120℃. Moreover, in the case of AC-PCM and CPCM thermal degradation started at 80℃ and 100℃, respectively. The chemical stability of the CPCM was studied using Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, and the results confirmed that the developed composite is chemically stable. Finally, the surface morphology of the AC and CPCM was analysed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), which confirmed the presence of a thin layer of silica gel on the AC surface after the SOL-GEL process.
Mass reduction and physicochemical properties of the produced compost were investigated during composting domestic food wastes without additive. A small composter used in this study had the height of 15 cm from the center of bottom half circle (diameter 24 cm) up to under the lid, the side length of 50 cm and the horizontal lid angle of $50^{\circ}$ and was operated at the heating unit temperature of $85^{\circ}$. It was mixed by the rotating arm for two minutes in every half hour while supplied with air flow at 3 L/min for 10 minutes in every half hour. This condition was found in a preliminary experiment as optimal for keeping the water content of composting material in the optimal range without adding any bulking materials. The domestic food wastes were added into the composter at the rate of 1 kg/day without additives during composting. The results were as follows; during the composting process, water content maintained in the range of $51.0{\sim}53.5%$. Hemicellulose and lignin contents did not show any tendency, but cellulose content decreased. During the composting process, $NH_3-N$ and $NO_2-N$ were not detected due to nitrification. The contents of inorganic compounds did not increase during the composting process. They were in the range of $1.32{\sim}1.71%\;P_2O_5$, $1.29{\sim}1.48%\;CaO$, $0.41{\sim}0.49%\;MgO$, and $0.38{\sim}0.74%\;K_2O$. For 20 days, weight reduction rate was 67.5% in wet basis, and decomposition rate was 48% in dry basis. Concentration of heavy metals (Cu, Cr, Cd, Pb, Zn, Hg, As) was less than the limiting value of the compost. Maturity of the produced compost was 3 grade through reaching maximum temperature of $46{\sim}48^{\circ}C$.

The HAN which is an ionic liquid is a non-toxic monopropellant with high storability, and its specific impulse can be increased by blending methanol, thereby it can substitute the hydrazine. The HAN was synthesized by acid-base reaction of hydroxylamine and nitric acid, and the blending ratio of HAN and methanol is 8.2:1. The iridium catalyst was used to decompose the HAN, and 1 N class thruster with shower head type injector having one orifice was used to evaluate the HAN/Methanol propellant. The thermal stability of distributor was increased by using ceramic material to endure the high temperature of product gas. The preheating temperature of catalyst should be $400^{\circ}C$ at least for the complete decomposition. The feeding pressure should be increased to increase the $C^*$ efficiency, thereby the decomposition performance was decreased upstream catalyst, and the performance of thruster was decreased. The fine metal mesh was inserted after the injector to improve the atomization of propellant, thereby it can settle the performance decrease problem. The phenomenon of performance decrease was remarkably improved owing to the insertion of fine metal mesh.
Efficiency estimation of toxicity free resistance cable experiments were conducts to understand toxicity free fire ersistance polyolefin insulation material and smoke density characteristic and combustion gas corrosion analysis. A main cause of fire-growth and generating toxic gas when it burns, should be dealt with great care in life safety design. Similar patterned fire incidents such as, Inchon Live-Hof Pub Restaurant as, Sea-land Children Resort have proven that serious loss of lives were caused by hazardous gas generated fire resistance cable materials. In this paper, Referenced documents were ASTM E662 standard test method for specific Ds genalated by solid materials. The furnace control system shall maintain the required irradiance level under steady-state condition with the chamber door closed of 2.5$\pm40.04〔w/$\textrm{cm}^2$〕for 20 min. According to the results of the smoke density analysis of NFR-8 and FR-PVC the highest decomposition flaming smoke density range of NFR-8 and FR-PVC were 25.2 to 37.5 and 51.1 respectively. Nonflaming smoke density range of NFR-8 and FR-PVC were 100.4 to 112.2 and 126.5 to 398.8. Also, the fire gases was occurred carbon monoxide and decomposition than in polyolefin due to incomplete combustion of PVC which has high content of carbon in chemical compound.

In this study, water and organic treatment efficiency and operating characteristics (temperature, salinity effect) were evaluated when food waste with high water content was treated by Bio-dying method. In addition, the optimum conditions for producing pellets for evaluating the decomposition products as SRF(Solid Refuse Fuel) after Bio-drying and evaluating the use value of SRF as a solid fuel were analyzed. As a result, the temperature, $CO_2$ concentration, organic matter removal rate and weight reduction rate according to the daily dose were about 86% and 68% at the input of 2.4 kg/day. The optimal food waste input was estimated to be 2.4 kg/day. As a result of the pellet molding and produce, Pellets can be produced within 10~25% of raw material water content. It was judged that the water content of 25%, which showed the best quality results in terms of external shape maintenance and strength. The high calorific value of SRF of decomposition products after Bio-drying was more than 3,500 kcal/kg.

The performance of a system can be affected by the variance of noise factors, which arise owing to uncertainties of the material properties and environmental factors acting on the system. For robust design optimization of the system performance, it is necessary to minimize the effect of the variance of the noise factors that are impossible to control. However, present robust design techniques consider the variation of design factors, and not the noise factors, as being important. Furthermore, it is necessary to assume a normal distribution; however, a normal distribution is often not suitable to estimate the variations. In this study, a robust design technique is proposed to consider the variation of noise factors that are estimated as non-normal distributions in a real experiment. As an example of an engineering problem, a deep-sea manganese nodule miner tracked vehicle is used to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.

The thermal behavior of $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ prepared by a co-precipitation wasinvestigated for Hz generation by the thermochemical cycle. The reduction reaction of $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ started from $480^{\circ}C$, and the weight loss was 1.6 wt% up to $1100^{\circ}C$. At this reaction, $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ was reduced by release of oxygen bonded with the $Fe^{3+}$ ion in the B site of ($CO_{0.5}$$(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$. In the $H_2O$ decomposition reaction, $H_2$ was generated by oxidationof reduced $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$. The crystal structure of $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ for reduction reaction maintained spinel structure and the lattice constant of $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ ($8.41\AA$) was enlarged to $8.45\AA$. But the lattice constant of $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ after $H_2O$ decomposition reaction did not change to $8.45\AA$. Then, $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ is excellent material in the thermochemical cyclic reaction due to release oxygen at low temperature for the reduction reaction and produce $H_2$ maintaining crystal structure for redox reaction.
Bio-based plastics containing the biomass content higher than 25 wt% have been considered as environment-friendly materials due to their effects on the reduction in the $CO_2$ emission and petroleum consumption as well as biodegradability after use. In this study, poly vinyl chloride, plant-derived plasticizers, by adding a biodegradable catalyst was observed a change in the biodegradability and physical properties. To produce the oxidative decomposition transparent bio film, which is broken down in the initial percent elongation and physical properties such as tensile strength, it was to test the safety of the product as a food packaging material. Poly vinyl chloride, primary plasticizer, secondary plasticizer, anti fogging agent, the combined stabilizer were mixed in a high speed mixer, then extruded using an extrusion molding machine, after cooling, winding, to produce a oxidative decomposition transparent bio film and the control film, with a thickness of $12{\mu}m$ through winder role. Mechanical properties tensile strength, elongation, and the maximum load elongation and biodegradation test. Transparent bio film produced by biodegradation catalyst is compared with the control film. Tensile strength and elongation of films were found to be no significant difference. Further, as a result of the biodegradation test for 45 days based on the ASTM D6954-04 method, biodegrability of film is 61.4%.

In order to improve the stability of ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ on hydrolysis of $SF_6$, the catalytic promoters were investigated in this study. The crystal phase of ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ is transformed to their ${\alpha}$-phase during hydrolysis of $SF_6$. Various metal oxides were applied as the promoter material that is Ga, Mg, and Zn and the promoter of 1, 5, and 10 wt% was impregnated over ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ by the impregnation method. Specially, it were confirmed in the catalytic activity tests and XRD analysis that ZnO/${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ catalyst had the high activity for decomposition of $SF_6$ by catalytic hydrolysis and the crystal phase of ZnO promoted ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ was not transformed. From these results, it could be known that the stability of ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ is enhanced with the catalytic promotion of ZnO impregnated over the surface of catalyst.
