테이퍼 구조를 갖는 광대역 바이코니컬 안테나의 설계 (A Design of Broadband Biconical Antenna with Tapered Section)

  • 본 논문에서는 Cellular/PCS/IMT-2000/Wibro 및 S-DMB의 서비스 대역을 모두 만족하는 통합 기지국용 광대역 안테나를 설계하였다. 바이코니컬 종단 부분에 테이퍼 구조를 적용하여 광대역 임피던스 정합을 구현하였으며, 시간영역 유한차분법(FDTD)을 통해 설계 및 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 측정 결과, 제작된 안테나는 대역폭 $0.79GHz{\sim}2.93GHz$에서 5.50 dBi 이상 최대 8.19 dBi의 이득 특성을 갖는다.

Narrow Resonant Double-Ridged Rectangular Waveguide Probe for Near-Field Scanning Microwave Microscopy

  • In this paper, we propose a narrow resonant waveguide probe that can improve the measurement sensitivity in near-field scanning microwave microscopy. The probe consists of a metal waveguide incorporating the following two sections: a straight section at the tip of the probe whose cross-section is a double-ridged rectangle, and whose height is much smaller than the waveguide width; and a standard waveguide section. The advantage of the narrow waveguide is the same as that of the quarter-wave transformer section i.e., it achieves impedance-matching between the sample under test (SUT) and the standard waveguide. The design procedure used for the probe is presented in detail and the performance of the designed resonant probe is evaluated theoretically by using an equivalent circuit. The calculated results are compared with those obtained using the finite element method (Ansoft HFSS), and consistency between the results is demonstrated. Furthermore, the performance of the fabricated resonant probe is evaluated experimentally. At X-band frequencies, we have measured the one-dimensional scanning reflection coefficient of the SUT using the probe. The sensitivity of the proposed resonant probe is improved by more than two times as compared to a conventional waveguide cavity type probe.

다(多)공구 도로 건설 현장의 장비 공유시스템 구축을 통한 생산성 향상에 관한 연구 (Improving Road Construction Productivity by Developing a Programmatic Resource Distribution System for Equipment Sharing in Multi-sectioned Road Construction Projects)

  • 국내에서 시행되는 대형 도로건설사업은 공구별로 분리 발주되고 개별 시공사는 단절된 형태로 시공을 하게 된다. 공구별 공종 및 활용 장비는 유사하나, 공구 간 장비의 공유는 비공식적이고 부분적으로만 일어난다. 이로 인해 도로 현장에서 사용되는 고가의 장비들은 낮은 가동률을 보이며 임대비용이 공사비의 높은 비중을 차지한다. 본 연구에서는 린 건설과 프로그램 매니지먼트의 이론에 근거하여 개별 공구에서 발생하는 유휴 및 부족 장비를 전체 사업 차원에서 공유함으로서 장비 생산성을 향상 시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 개발된 장비공유시스템은 정의된 기준(최단거리, 연속성, 빈도 및 일대일) 및 일련의 절차에 따라 공구들의 장비 수급현황을 바탕으로 비용을 최소화하면서 가동률을 높여주는 조건하에 두 공구 간 장비의 매칭(matching)을 자동화해준다. 본 시스템을 실제 도로공사 현장 4개 공구에 3개월 간, 3개 장비를 대상으로 시뮬레이션을 실시한 결과, 다공구에서의 생산성을 측정하는 지표인 nDPR이 향상되었으며, 장비 비용 또한 4.45% 개선되었다. 더불어, 공유횟수가 많은 장비일수록 nDPR 및 비용이 비례적으로 개선되는 것을 관찰할 수 있어 장비의 공유를 통한 긍정적 효과를 입증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 개별 사업이 아닌 전체사업 차원의 관리를 통해 증대되는 사업 가치를 정량적으로 제시함으로서 프로그램 차원의 사업관리모델을 조기 도입하는데 일조할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

블록 정합 재작업 시수 예측 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction System of Block Matching Rework Time)

  • In order to evaluate the precision degree of the blocks on the dock, the shipyards recently started to use the point cloud approaches using the 3D scanners. However, they hesitate to use it due to the limited time, cost, and elaborative effects for the post-works. Although it is somewhat traditional instead, they have still used the electro-optical wave devices which have a characteristic of having less dense point set (usually 1 point per meter) around the contact section of two blocks. This paper tried to expand the usage of point sets. Our approach can estimate the rework time to weld between the Pre-Erected(PE) Block and Erected(ER) block as well as the precision of block construction. In detail, two algorithms were applied to increase the efficiency of estimation process. The first one is K-mean clustering algorithm which is used to separate only the related contact point set from others not related with welding sections. The second one is the Concave hull algorithm which also separates the inner point of the contact section used for the delayed outfitting and stiffeners section, and constructs the concave outline of contact section as the primary objects to estimate the rework time of welding. The main purpose of this paper is that the rework cost for welding is able to be obtained easily and precisely with the defective point set. The point set on the blocks' outline are challenging to get the approximated mathematical curves, owing to the lots of orthogonal parts and lack of number of point. To solve this problems we compared the Radial based function-Multi-Layer(RBF-ML) and Akima interpolation method. Collecting the proposed methods, the paper suggested the noble point matching method for minimizing the rework time of block-welding on the dock, differently the previous approach which had paid the attention of only the degree of accuracy.

Performance based design approach for multi-storey concentrically braced steel frames

  • In this paper, a Performance Based Design (PBD) approach is validated for multi-storey concentrically braced frame (CBF) systems. Direct Displacement Based Design (DDBD) procedure is used and validated by designing 4- and 12-storey CBF buildings. Nonlinear time history analysis (NLTHA) is used to check the performance of the design methodology by employing different accelerograms having displacement spectra matching the design displacement spectrum. Displacements and drifts obtained from NLTHA are found to fall within the design displacement limits used in the DDBD procedure. In NLTHA, both tension and compression members are found to be resisting the base shear, $F_b$, not only the tension members as assumed in the design methodology and suggested by Eurocode 8. This is the reason that the total $F_b$ in NLTHA is found to be greater than the design shear forces. Furthermore, it is found that the average of the maximum ductility values recorded from the time history analyses for the 4-and 12-storey buildings are close to the design ductility obtained from the DDBD methodology and ductility expressions established by several researchers. Moreover, the DDBD is compared to the Forced Based Design (FBD) methodology for CBFs. The comparison is carried out by designing 4 and 12-storey CBF buildings using both DDBD and FBD methodologies. The performance for both methodologies is verified using NLTHA. It is found that the $F_b$ from FBD is larger than $F_b$ obtained from DDBD. This leads to the use of larger sections for the structure designed by FBD to resist the lateral forces.

광분할 반사경이 집적된 단일 광원 기반의 통합형 듀얼 백라이트 유닛 (Dual Backlight Unit Incorporating a Single Light Source Integrated with a Beam Splitting Reflector)

  • 본 논문에서는 단일 광원에 광분할 반사경을 집적하여 휴대폰의 디스플레이부와 키패드부에 동시 적용 가능한 통합형 듀얼 백라이트 유닛을 제안하고 구현하였다. 이 광분할 반사경은 상부 커버와 홈 모양의 하부 기판을 서로 정렬함으로써 구현되며, 반사경 좌우에는 도광판, 확산 쉬트, 프리즘 쉬트로 이루어진 도광 모듈이 연결되어 있다. 하부 기판의 중앙에 위치한 광원에서 방사된 광은 반사경 내부에서 다중 반사를 하면서 진행하고, 도광 모듈에 입사된 후 면광원으로 변환된다. 제작된 듀얼 백라이트 유닛의 측정 결과를 살펴보면, 키패드부에서의 평균 휘도 및 휘도 균일도는 각각 $420\;cd/m^2$와 69%, 디스플레이부에서는 $640\;cd/m^2$와 79%였다.

SPOT-5 HRG 스테레오 영상으로부터 지형정보 추출 (Extracting Topographic Information from SPOT-5 HRG Stereo Images)

  • 본 논문에서는 SPOT 5호 HRG 스테레오 영상을 이용하여 수치표고모형을 생성하기 위한 사진측량학적 처리과정을 제시하고 수치표고모형 생성을 위한 HRG supermode 영상의 정확도 잠재성을 평가하고자 하였다. 센서모델링을 위하여 광속조정을 행한 후 에피폴라 영상재배열과 영상정합 과정 등을 통하여 수치표면모형을 생성하였다. HRG 영상으로부터 추출된 DEM 성과를 축척 1:5000의 수치지형도로부터 추출된 기준 DEM과 여러 시험구간 상에서 비교하였다. 전체구간 중 5m 미만의 DEM 오차를 나타내는 부분의 비율은 53.8%이었고, 5m를 초과하는 오차부분은 구름, 수역, 건물 등에 의한 영향을 받는 것으로 확인되어 이러한 지역을 제외하고 평가한 정확도는 약 2.5m의 RMSE를 나타내었다. 아울러 추출된 수치표면모형(DSM)을 사용하여 3차원 건물모델과 대상지역 전체의 3차원 가시화 모델을 작성하였다.

Dynamic Stereo PIV에 의한 델타형 날개에서의 3차원 와류 유동에 관한 연구 (Three Dimensional Vortex Behavior of LEX Delta Wing by Dynamic Stereo PIV)

  • Leading edge extension(LEX) in a highly swept shape applied to a delta wing features the modern air-fighters. The LEX vortices generated upon the upper surface of the wing at high angle of attack enhance the lift force of the delta wing by way of increased negative suction pressure over the surfaces. The present 3-D stereo PIV includes the Identification of 2-D cross-correlation equation, stereo matching of 2-D velocity vectors of two cameras, accurate calculation of 3-D velocity vectors by homogeneous coordinate system, removal of error vectors by a statistical method followed by a continuity equation criterion and so on. A delta wing model with or without LEX was immersed in a circulating water channel. Two high-resolution, high-speed digital cameras$(1280pixel\times1024pixel)$ were used to allow the time-resolved animation work. The present dynamic stereo PIV represents the complicated vortex behavior, especially, in terms of time-dependent characteristics of the vortices at given measuring sections. Quantities such as three velocity vector components, vorticity and other flow information can be easily visualized via the 3D time-resolved post-processing to make the easy understanding of the LEX effect or vortex emerging and collapse which are important phenomena occurring in the field of delta wing aerodynamics.

Adding to the freshwater red algal diversity in North America: Lympha mucosa gen. et sp. nov. (Batrachospermales, Rhodophyta)

  • The strictly freshwater red algal order Batrachospermales has undergone numerous taxonomic rearrangements in the recent past to rectify the paraphyly of its largest genus Batrachospermum. These systematic investigations have led to the description of new genera and species as well as re-circumscription of some taxa. Specimens collected from two locations in the southeastern USA were initially identified as being allied to Batrachospermum sensu lato, but could not be assigned to any recognized species. Representative rbcL (plastid) and COI-5P (mitochondrion) sequences showed these specimens to be similar to each other and not closely matching the previously published sequence data for other Batrachospermum taxa. Comparison of sequence variation and morphology with a broader range of batrachospermalean taxa resulted in the proposal of a new monotypic genus Lympha mucosa gen. et sp. nov. to accommodate these specimens. Lympha mucosa is sister to members of a newly described genus Volatus, but the two genera are easily distinguished based on straight versus curved, twisted or spirally coiled carpogonial branch, respectively. This new taxon has morphological similarities to Batrachospermum sections Turfosa and Virescentia, but can be differentiated based on genetic divergence in rbcL and COI-5P as well as a combination of morphological characters: dense, compressed whorls, axial carposporophytes with a single type of gonimoblast filament; cortication of the main axis closely appressed; and short, straight carpogonial branch arising from the pericentral cell and carpogonia with unstalked, lanceolate trichogynes. This new taxon adds to the freshwater red algal diversity of the southeastern USA, a region already known for biodiversity and high endemism of the aquatic flora and fauna. It is also a relevant new addition to the taxonomic knowledge of the freshwater red algal Batrachospermales.
