Self-Tuning Gain-Scheduled Skyhook Control for Semi-Active Suspension System: Implementation and Experiment

  • In this paper a self-tuning gain-scheduled skyhook control for semi-active suspension systems is investigated. The dynamic characteristics of a continuously variable damper including electro-hydraulic pressure control valves is analyzed. A 2-d.o.f. time-varying quarter-car model that permits variations in sprung mass and suspension spring coefficient is considered. The self-tuning skyhook control algorithm proposed in this paper requires only the measurement of body acceleration. The absolute velocity of the sprung mass and the relative velocity of the suspension deflection are estimated by using integral filters.   • In this paper a self-tuning modified skyhook control for the semi-active suspension systems is investigated. The damping force generation mechanism is modeled We consider a 2 DOF time-varying quarter car model that permits parameter variations of the sprung mass and suspension spring coefficient. The modified skyhook control algorithm proposed in this paper requires only the measurement of body acceleration. The absolute velocity of the sprung mass and the relative velocity of the suspension deflection are estimated by using integral filters, according to parameter variations. The skyhook gains are designed in such a way that the body acceleration and the dynamic tire force are optimized. An ECU prototype will be discussed

헤드간섭으로 인한 회전 디스크의 안정성 분석 (Stability Analysis of Rotating Discs Due to Head interference)

  • This paper presents the modeling, theoretical formulation, and stability analysis for a combined system of a spinning disc and a head that contacts the disc. In the analytic model, head interference is considered by a rotating mass-spring-damper system together with a frictional follower force on the damped annular discs. The multiple scale method is utilized to perform the stability system that shows the existence of instability associated with parametric resonances. Using the formulated system , instability regions of optical recording disc are investigated with variation of mass, stiffness and friction force of a head, respectively. The simulation results show that the stiffness of a head is the most sensitive parameter on the instability of the disc.

  • In this study, we developed the simulation program of an overhead catenary-pantograph system, The overhead catenary is modeled with point mass and the pantograph is replaced with 3 d. o. f. model which is composed of mass, spring and damper. Using the developed program, we analyzed the static structure of the overhead catenary and the dynamic characteristics of an overhead catenary-pantograph system such as uplift displacement of contact wire and contact force. we compared the analysis results with the results of GASENDO software developed at RTRI in Japan. The behaviors of uplift displacement of contact wire and contact force were similar with the results of GASENDO software.

  • To detect dust-loaded air-mass over land and ocean, we propose an index, which is essentially the difference in Rayleigh-corrected reflectance between 412 and 443 nm bands of SeaWiFS. Radiative transfer simulations are conducted to show that the index is linearly related to the optical thickness of modeled dust-contaminated aerosol while showing insensitivity against non-absorbing model aerosols. Asian SeaWiFS data set of 2001 spring is used to produce daily composite imagery of the index, which compares well with TOMS Aerosol Index and with predicted aerosol optical thickness predicted by CFORS chemical weather forecast.

  • A hollow crankshaft is considered as part of an effort to reduce the weight of the automobile powertrain. Since the resulting mass reduction alters both the inertia and stiffness properties of the crankshaft, the vibration characteristics of the hollow crankshaft needs to be investigated in comparison with the original solid crankshaft. The crankshafts are modeled by 38 lumped mass and stiffness elements, in which the dynamic parameters for each lumped element are obtained by the finite element calculation. The fluid-film bearings supporting the crankshaft give rise to linear spring and damping elements that can be derived from the hydrodynamic bearing model. The transfer matrix method is applied to yield the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the crankshaft vibration. The natural frequencies of the hollow crankshaft are founded to be greater than that of the solid crankshaft, and the incorporation of the bearing stiffness tends to accentuate the difference.

중층 트롤 어구 시스템 운동의 유체역학적 시뮬레이션 (Hydrodynamic Simulation of Midwater Trawl System Behavior)

  • 본 연구에서는 중층 트롤 어구 시스템의 운동을 예측하기 위한 운동방정식을 정의하였고 중층 트롤 어구 시스템의 운동을 유체역학적으로 해석하여 시뮬레이션에 적용하여 계산한 결과를 해상에서 실험한 결과들과 비교하여 시뮬레이션의 정확도를 검증하였다. 해상실험은 1997년 8월 28일부터 1997년 8월 30일까지 동해상(36$^{\circ}$05'N, 130$^{\circ}$25'2E~36$^{\circ}$20'N,130$^{\circ}$47'E)에서 부경대 실습선 가야호를 이용하여 실시하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 중층 트롤 시스템의 운동을 해석하기 위해 사용된 운동 방정식은 m$_{i}$equation omitted/=f$_{i}$으로 기술하였고, 여기서 m과 /equation omitted/는 각각 질점 i의 질량과 가속도이며, f$_{i}$는 질점에 작용하는 힘이다. 2. 각 질점에 작용하는 힘은 내력과 외력으로 구성되며, 내력은 질점 사이에서 작용하는 힘으로 어구 시스템 구성에 사용된 각 종 줄과 그물실의 탄성에 의한 힘이며, 외력은 질점에 작용하는 저항, 부력 그리고 중력 등이다. 3. 시뮬레이션의 결과를 해상실험의 결과와 정량적으로 비교하기 위해 끌줄길이 250m, 예망속력 2m/s에서의 전개판 간격, 전개판 수심 망고 그리고 망폭을 비교하였다. 이 때 전개판 사이의 간격과 망폭은 계산치와 실험치가 거의 일치하며, 전개판의 수심과 망고는 각각 5m와 4m의 오차를 가지고 있었다. 4. 시뮬레이션 도중 끌줄의 길이, 예망속력, 부력 그리고 전개판 면적을 증가시키면서 어구의 형상을 계산한 결과를 앞선 해상 실험들의 결과와 비교하였다. 이 때 끌줄길이를 증가시킨 경우 어구의 예망수심이 깊어졌으며 전개판의 간격이 증가하였다. 예망속력을 증가시킨 경우 어구가 수면으로 부상하였으며 전개판의 간격이 줄어들었다. 부력을 증가시킨 경우에도 어구가 수면으로 부상하였으며 전개판의 간격과 망폭이 줄어들었다. 마지막으로 전개판의 면적을 증가시킨 경우에는 전개판의 전개력이 증가하여 전개판 사이 간격이 커지고 망폭이 증가하였다.

  • A continuing elevated bridge is replaced with mass-spring system model, and a part of the bridge is cut out as an analytical area. A viscous boundary is installed at both ends, and dynamic analyses are carried out changing the wave velocity of the viscous boundary, The result is compared with a result of a very long model corresponding to the solution with infinite length. A wave velocity is chosen so that the good performance of a viscous boundary is exhibited. The parametric analyses are carried out changing the model of various structural properties, and an approximation expression is suggested to obtain the wave velocity easily for setting a viscous boundary.

  • In this paper, shock analysis was performed for coarse and fine mesh model using MSC/NASTRAN and ANSYS after substituting the foundation of deck mounted equipment of marine ship for mass-spring system. In order to determine input file in MSC/NASTRAN, dynamic response analysis was also performed using DDAM based on the calculation in the range of low frequency. It was confirmed that the coarse mesh model has the sufficient effective weight in a lower degree mode compared to fine mesh model.

  • The valve motions of a reciprocating compressor generate the pressure fluctuation at the plenum which is a main source of noise and vibration of a compressor unit. But a cycle of a compressor process consists of complicated phenomena interacting in a short period of time. A mathematical model is developed by simplifying and idealizing the complicated phenomena to simulate the compressor process. The governing equations about the pressure and working fluid flow are developed from the unsteady Bernoulli equation. The pressure fluctuations at the plenums are derived from the Helmholz's resonator model. The valves are modeled as one degree of freedom spring-mass-damper system. This model is verified by the experimental results.
