절리의 기하학적 속성이 절리성 암반의 이방적 변형 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Joint Geometry on Anisotropic Deformability of Jointed Rock Masses)

  • 본 연구는 절리의 기하학적 속성이 절리성 암반의 변형 특성에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위하여 삼차원 불연속절리망(DFN; discrete fracture network) 시스템에 대한 개별요소법 기반의 응력-변형 해석과 관련된 수치실험을 수행하였다. 1~2 개의 확정적 방향성을 갖는 절리군을 사용하여 절리의 빈도와 길이분포를 달리하며 추계론적으로 생성한 총 12개의 1000㎥ 정육면체 DFN 블록에 대하여 삼차원 직교좌표계의 축 방향에 따른 변형계수가 산정되었다. 또한, 일부 DFN 블록은 삼차원상에서 매 30° 간격의 선주향 및 선경사 방향을 축차응력 방향으로 설정하고 변형계수를 산정하였다. 절리의 길이가 증가할수록 DFN 블록의 변형계수는 더욱 저감되는 것으로 평가되었다. 절리의 빈도 증가는 절리의 길이가 짧아서 상대적으로 암교 효과가 큰 경우 DFN 블록의 변형계수 저감에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못 할 가능성도 있지만 절리길이가 길수록 절리빈도의 증가가 DFN의 이방적 변형계수에 지대한 영향을 미치는 것으로 평가되었다. 절리의 길이와 빈도 변화에 따른 이방적 변형계수의 변화는 DFN에 분포하는 절리군의 개수 및 방향성에 크게 좌우된다. DFN 블록의 변형 특성은 삼차원상의 방향에 따라 다르게 발현되는 것으로 평가되었다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 절리의 기하학적 속성이 고려된 응력-변형 해석을 위한 수치해석 절차를 제시하였으며 현장규모의 실무 적용을 위한 방법론에 대하여 토의하였다.

幼兒服 構成을 위한 體型 分類 (Classification of the Somatotype for Pre-School Children's Clothing Construction)

  • This study is aimed at exploring a reasonable and reliable method of measuring pre-school children's somatotypes and there by, data basing the information obtained and classifying their somatotypes, at providing useful data which can be utilized for the design of their dress forms and enhancing the fitness of their apparels. to this end, 330 pre-school children living in the capital area and aged fro m4 to 6 were sampled to be subject to the measurement of their somatotypes. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. As the pre-school children grow, the scales indicating their vertical growth including height could well be measured differently, but those scales indicating their lateral somatotypes which reflect their postural changes did not show among age groups. in other words, male kids were higher in the scales including height than female kids, while there were not differences between sexes in most scales indicating their lateral somatotypes. 2. The elements comprising the somatotypes were the size of body skeleton, the thickness of body mass, the posture and shape of body mass, the lateral under-neck shape, the extrusion of belly, the length between front and the back shoulder, the shape of lower belly, the shape of upper hip, the shape of lower hip and the slope of shoulders. Among them, the first two elements accounted for 64.8% of the total distribution, which means that these two elements explain the body-mass somatotypes of kid's most effectively. 3. The sample kids were divided into two types for classification of their somatotypes. As a result, it was found that the elements determining their somatotypes most influentially are, unlike adults' case the size of body skeleton rather than posture or lateral body shape. The type I showed less dimensions in most scales than type II, while their shoulder were les developed,. The type I was found distributed much in 4-year-old female kids. The type II showing more development in each element was found distributed much in 6-year-old male kids.

Efficient simulation method for a gas inflow to the central molecular zone

  • We present hydrodynamic simulations of gas clouds that inflowing from the disk to a few hundred parsec region of the Milky Way. Realistic Galactic structures are included in our simulations by thousands of multipole expansions that describe 6.4 million stellar particles of a self-consistent Galaxy simulation (Baba, Saitoh & Wada, in prep.). We find that a hybrid multipole expansion model with two different basis sets and a thick disk correction well reproduces the overall structures of the Milky Way. We find that the nuclear ring evolves into 240 pc at T~1500 Myr, regardless of the initial size. For most of simulation runs, gas inflow rate to the nuclear region is equilibrated as ~0.02 Msun/yr, and thus accumulated gas mass and star formation activity is stabilized as $6{\times}10^7Msun$ and ~0.02M/yr, respectively. These stabilized values are in a good agreement with estimations for the CMZ. The nuclear ring is off-centered to the Galactic center by the lopsided central mass distribution of the Galaxy model, and thus an asymmetric mass distribution is arose accordingly. The lopsidedness also leads the nuclear ring to be tilted to the Galactic plane and to precess along the Galaxy rotation. In early evolutionary stage when gas clouds start to inflow and form the nuclear ring, the z-directional oscillations of the gas clouds results in the twisted, infinity-shaped nuclear ring. Since the infinity-shaped feature is transient only for first 100 Myr, the current infinity-shape observed in the CMZ may indicate that the CMZ forms quite recently.

Body Mass Index Distributions and Sociodemographic Factors Affecting BMI of Children Living in Anyang, Korean

  • Body mass index(BMI) is recognized as one of the most useful indexes for adiposity in children and adults. This study was conducted to provide information on BMI distribution by age and sex in Korean children, and to identify sociodemographic factors that affected BMI among children. The study was conducted on 2376 children(boys 1184, girls 1192) living in a middle-size city in Korea. Subjects were selected from the primary schoolchildren in grades 1-6 using the two-stage sampling method. Their mean age was 9.4 years. The percentile of BMI tended to increase as age increased in both sexes. The 85th percentile for boys, aged 6-12 years, was 19.8kg/㎡, and the 95th percentile was 22.5kg/㎡. The 85th percentile for girls, aged 6-12 years, was 18.9kg/㎡, and the 95th percentile was 21.5kg/㎡. Multiple regression analysis was carried out to predict BMI from percent ideal body weight (PIBW), age and sex. After adjusting PIBW and age, BMI for boys was 0.062kg/㎡ lower than that for girls. One year of age increased BIM by 0.55kg/㎡. The prevalence rate of overweight and obesity based on PIBW was 15.8% and 15.0% for boys, and 14.0% and 11.0% for girls, respectively. Demographic factors such as sex, age, and parents' obesity influenced children's BMI. After adjusting for sex, age and parents' BMI, the presence of another children in family, and mother's employment status showed a strong effect on children's BMI. The results suggest an age-sex specific BMI distribution of Korean children. The present study also provides direct evidence of a correlation between early life environmental factors, such as presence of siblings or mother's employment, and BMI level in Korean children.

폐배터리 블랙 매스(black mass) 회수를 위한 파쇄/분급 공정 분석 및 2종 혼합물의 수학적 분쇄 모델링 (Analysis of Crushing/Classification Process for Recovery of Black Mass from Li-ion Battery and Mathematical Modeling of Mixed Materials)

  • 리튬이온 배터리의 사용은 전자기기 및 전기차 등의 생산량 증가로 인해 사용량이 크게 증가하고 있으며, 이와 맞물려 향후 폐배터리의 발생량 증가도 예상된다. 따라서 폐배터리를 구성하고 있는 여러 유가 자원 중 Ni, Co, Mn, Li 등이 함유되어 있는 양극 활물질이 매우 중요한 유가 자원으로, 이를 재활용하기 위한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 양극 활물질 회수를 위해서 일반적으로 폐배터리로부터 블랙 매스(Black mass)를 회수하고, 이를 처리하여 주요 금속 자원을 회수한다. 블랙 매스를 회수하는 공정은 폐배터리를 수거-방전-해체-파쇄-분급의 순서로 이루어지며, 본 연구에서는 블랙 매스 회수를 위한 파쇄/분급 공정을 분석하였다. 파쇄/분급 공정을 통해 다양한 공정 산물의 입도 특성을 분석하고, 이 과정에서 생산된 산물의 입도별 형상을 현미경 및 SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopy)-EDS(Energy Dispersive Spectrometer)로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 블랙 매스로 회수되는 입자 중 74 ㎛의 미세한 입자들은 양극/음극 활물질이 전극으로부터 단체분리되어 존재하였지만, 100 ㎛ 이상의 입자들은 전극과 활물질이 붙어있는 상태에서 파쇄에 의해 입도가 감소되어 존재함을 확인하였다. 또한 배터리의 특징인 2종 혼합물(전극과 활물질)이 결합되어 있는 시료에 대해 파분쇄 특성을 모사할 수 있는 PBM(Population Balance Model) 을 개발하였으며, 2종 혼합물의 분쇄 상수를 도출하고 입도 분포 예측 성능을 검증하였다.

최근 용존 유기물 분석 기법 및 자연환경과 수 처리 시스템 내 활용방안 (Advanced Analytical Techniques for Dissolved Organic Matter and Their Applications in Natural and Engineered Water Treatment Systems)

  • Dissolved organic matter (DOM), which changes according to various factors, is ubiquitously present from natural environments to engineered treatment systems. Only limited information is available regarding the environmental functions of DOM after bulk analyses are only applied for characterization. In this paper, latest DOM analytical techniques are briefly introduced, which include fluorescence excitation-emission matrix with parallel factor analysis (EEM-PARAFAC), size-exclusion chromatography with an organic carbon detector (SEC-OCD), carbon/nitrogen stable-isotope ratio, and Fourier transform-ion cyclotron resonance-mass spectroscopy (FT-ICR-MS). Recent examples of using advanced analyses to interpret the phenomena associated with DOM occurring in natural and engineered systems are presented here. Through EEM-PARAFAC, different components like protein-like, fulvic-like, and humic-like can be identified and tracked individually through the investigated systems. SEC-OCD allows researchers to quantify different size fractions. FT-ICR-MS provides thousands of molecular formulas present in bulk DOM samples. Lastly, carbon/nitrogen stable-isotope ratio offers reasonable tools for tracking the sources in environments. We also discuss the advantages and weakness of the above-mentioned characterizing tools. Specifically, they focus on single environmental factors (different sourced-DOM and interaction of sediment-pore water) or simple changes after individual treatment processes. Through collaboration with the advanced techniques later, they help the researchers to better understand environmental behaviors in aquatic systems and serve as essential tools for addressing various pending problems associated with DOM.

디젤 승용차량 시험모드별 극미세입자 배출 특성 해석 (Analysis of Diesel Nano-particle Characteristics for Different Vehicle Test Mode in Diesel Passenger Vehicle)

  • Recently, the nano-PM's number concentration emitted by diesel internal combustion engine has focused on attention because this particulate matters are suspected being hazardous of human health. In this study, The nano-PM mass and size of diesel passenger vehicles were measured on chassis dynamometer test bench. The particulate matters(PM) emissions of these vehicles were investigated by number concentration too. A condensation particle counter(CPC) system was applied to measure the particle number and size concentration of diesel exhaust particles at the end of dilution tunnel along the NEDC(ECE15+EUDC) and CVS-75 vehicle test mode. As the research result, the characteristic of vehicle test mode on the diesel nano-particle number and size distribution was investigated in this study.

소성과 황화반응에 따른 생석회의 비표면적 및 기공구조 변화 (Specific Surface Area and Pore Structure Changes of Calcined Lime with Calcination and Sulfation Reaction)

  • The calcination reactivity of limestone and physical property changes of calcined lime were investigated with a temperature($720~1000^{\circ}C$ under atmospheric gas($N_2$, $CO_2$) conditions. The mechanisms of mass transport in a lime matrix were represented by the evaporation and condensation (${\gamma}=1.7$) at $1000^{\circ}C$ and the volume diffusion (${\gamma}=2.7$) at $800^{\circ}C$, which was obtained by the specific surface area of calcined lime with sintering conditions. Also, the effect of physical property on the reactivity of sulfation reaction was determined by the changes of pore size with $lime-SO_2$ reaction in this work. The initial sulfation rate of calcined lime increased with increasing temperature, whereas the capture capacity of $SO_2$ exhibited a maximum value at $900^{\circ}C$. The pore volume of sulfated lime was decreased with increasing sulfation time, but the major pores shifted to the distribution of larger size at a temperature of $850{\;}~{\;}1000^{\circ}C$. The mean pore size of sulfated lime based on pore volume decreased gradually at $1000^{\circ}C$; however, it increased with sulfation time up to 40 min and rapidly decreased thereafter.

  • 가스메탄과 액체산소를 추진제로 사용하는 스월 동축형 인젝터에서 리세스 길이 변화에 따른 분무특성 및 미립화 특성에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 패터네이터를 이용하여 분산각 및 분무의 질량분포를 측정하였으며, 미립화 특성을 살펴보기 위해 GSV(Global Size and Velocity)를 이용하여 평균액적크기를 측정하였다. 결과적으로 액체만 분사한 경우 리세스 길이가 증가함에 따라 분산각은 감소하나 미립화 특성이 좋아지는 것을 확인하였고, 기체/액체를 동시 분사한 경우 액체만 분사한 경우에 비해 분산각은 작아지나 미립화 특성이 좋아지는 것을 확인하였다.

  • 한 조로 사용 되는 네 개의 윷가지의 크기와 모양이 같아서 각 윷가지의 등이 나올 확률이 같은 윷놀이를 생각한다. 윷놀이에서는 모나 윷이 나오면 한 번 더 던지는 규칙이 있으므로, 한 사람의 차례에서 윷을 던져 말이 가는 거리 X에 관심이 있게 된다. 따라서, 거리 X에 대한 확률질량함수를 구하고, 각 윷가락의 등이 나올 확률의 몇 개의 값에 대하여 확률을 표로 나타낸다. 또한, 거리 X의 기댓값, 분산, 왜도, 첨도를 구하며, 주어진 윷의 등의 확률의 몇 개 값에 대하여 값을 구하여 표로 나타낸다.
