  • The relative composition of $Cu(InGa)Se_2$ solar cells is one of the most important measurement issues. However, quantitative analysis of multi-component alloy films is difficult by surface analysis methods due to severe matrix effect. In this study, quantitative depth profiling analysis of CIGS films was investigated by secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS). The compositions were measured by SIMS using the alloy reference relative sensitivity factors derived from the certified compositions and the total counting numbers of each element. The compositions measured by SIMS were linearly proportional to those by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) using isotope dilution method. In this study, the quantification measured by ICP-MS method is compared with the composition calculated by SIMS depth profiles with AR-RSFs obtained from the reference. The SIMS depth profile of CIGS thin films according to the manufacturing condition was converted into compositional depth profile.

  • Soy isoflavones have been suggested to improve bone loss and lipid profile in postmenopausal women and ovariectomized rats. In present study, we investigated the hypothesis that consumption of soybean, mung bean, cowpea and azuki bean has a beneficial effect on lipid profile which associates with bone mass in ovariectomized rats. Forty two female Sprague-Dawley rats were either sham-operated (Sham) or surgically ovariectomized (OVX). Sham and OVX groups were fed a regular AIN-93M diet, but ovariectomized rats with soybean (OS), mung bean (OM), cowpea (OC) or adzuki bean (OA) were fed AIN-93M diet replacing 35% of corn starch with powdered OS, OM, OC or OA for 10 weeks. Total- and LDL-cholesterol concentrations were significantly lower in Sham and OC groups than other OVX groups. There was significant negative association between total cholesterol concentration and bone mineral density (BMD) of tibia in only OC group. In conclusion, total-cholesterol concentration was significantly and negatively correlated with BMD in rats consumed cowpea, suggesting that the reduced cholesterol concentration may have a beneficial effect on bone mass.

  • We have solved the radiative transfer problem using a Sobolev approximation with an escape probability method in case of the supersonic expansion of a stellar envelope to an ambient medium. The radiation from the expanding envelope turns out to produce a P-Cygni type profile. In order to investigate the morphology of the theoretical P-Cygni type profile, we have treated $V_\infty,\;V_{sto},\;\beta$ (parameters for the velocity field), it and E(parameter for collisional effect) as model parameters. We have investigated that the velocity field and the mass loss rate affect the shapes of the P-Cygni type profiles most effectively. The secondarily important factors are $V_\infty,\;V_{sto}$. The collisional effect tends to make the total flux increased but not so much in magnitude. We have infered some physical parameters of 68 Cyg, HD24912, and $\xi$ persei such as $V_\infty,\;M$ from the model calculation, which shows a good agreenment with the observational results.

  • Environment has a significant impact on the evolution of dark halo profiles. We used a cosmological N-body simulation based on WMAP5 cosmology to study environmental effects on halo profiles. Host haloes located in sparse regions are highly concentrated, and more massive haloes have higher concentration index. This is because mass accretion affects only the outer part of the halo and consequently increase the virial radius having no effect on the scale radius. Conversely, host haloes located in dense regions have low concentration index. This is because frequent mergers affect even the inner part of the halo. So, scale radius increases with the growth of virial radius. Evolutions of subhalo profiles are essentially different from those of host haloes because subhaloes undergo tidal stripping. The stripping begins once a subhalo approaches closer than ~3 virial radii of the host halo. During the stripping, the inner part of the subhalo keep following NFW profile, but the mass of the outer part gradually decreases. As a result, when the subhalo reaches the pericenter of its host, only about inner 30% of the subhalo follows the NFW profile.

  • In present study, design and hot fire tests of the pryostarter are conducted. To prevent the turbopump RPM overshoot, regressive mass flow rate profile is applied. Sudden decrease of the mass flow rate at the end of the propellant burning is realized as well. Firing test results show good agreements with the design requirements. Through the study with ignition substance variations, combustion products and ignition performances are improved.

  • We present the results of high-resolution (R ≥ 30,000) optical and near-infrared spectroscopic monitoring observations of a FU Orionis-type object, 2MASS J06593158-0405277. We have monitored 2MASS J06593158-0405277 with the Bohyunsan Optical Echelle Spectrograph (BOES) and the Immersion GRating INfrared Spectrograph (IGRINS) since December 2014. Various features produced by wind, disk, and outflow/jet were detected. The wind features varied over time and disappeared about a year after the outburst occurred. The double-peaked line profiles were detected in the optical and near-infrared, and the line widths decrease with increasing wavelength. The disk features in the optical spectra are fit well with G2-type or G5-type stellar spectra convolved with a disk rotational profile of about 45 km s-1, which corresponds to a disk radius of about 71 Rfor a central mass of 0.75 M. Disk features in near-infrared spectra are fit well with a K1-type stellar spectrum convolved with a disk rotational profile of about 35 km s-1, which corresponds to a disk radius of about 117 R for a central mass of 0.75 M. We also detected [S II] and H2 emission lines, which are rarely found in FUors but are usually found in the earlier stage of young stellar objects. Therefore, we suggest that 2MASS J06593158-0405277 is in the relatively earlier part of Class II stage.

  • Dynamic wedge system has been introduced to modify the beam profile and to make homogeneous isodose curves in the mass of irregular shape. Before the clinical use of dynamic wedge, several factors such as wedge transmission factor, dose profile, percent depth dose, and wedge angle have to be measured quantitatively. Film dosimetry is used to evaluate these factors in this study. A comparison of the result of the dynamic wedge to physical wedge system is made. A positive result for the application of the dynamic wedge to clinic is derived even though there is a limitation in accuracy of the dosimetry system used. To measure all factors quantitatively, more accurate dosimetry systems are required.

  • A two-dimensional zone-like model is developed to predict the interaction between hot gas layer and water droplets after sprinkler activation. The model combines the motion equations for each droplet with heat and mass transfer between the gas and water. The results indicate that negative buoyancy in the hot layer can only be obtained if the initial temperature profile is uniform. If an experimental profile Is used instead, positive buoyancy results. This conclusion has been confirmed with experimental data.

  • Cefuroxime axetil, a broad spectrum antibiotic, has been known to form a gelatinous mass in contact with aqueous media, which could lead to poor dissolution. Therefore, this study was conducted for removing the gelling phenomenon and thereby obtaining a favorable dissolution profile. We have found that the addition of poly (methacrylic acid, methyl methacrylate) could not only inhibit the tendency of cefuroxime axetil to form a gel but also showed the good dissolution profile compared to the formula without poly (methacrylic acid, methyl methacrylate). • For mass information transfer, the optical communication using optic fiber has been widely used. Especially, in the field of medical image, the large data is digitalized based on the standard image and it is used for telemedicine with this method. Therefore, to transfer the large amount of data fast and effectively POF (Plastic Optical Fiber) can be used and the development of optic connector for connection between POFs is very important. In this study, for stable optical coupling of POF optic fiber Ferrule and Sleeve were designed and produced by considering the bond stability and the insertion loss according to the physical contact and roughness profile was evaluated. As a result of examining the insertion loss by physical contact method of two optic fibers, it showed the loss was about 1.895dB. According to the results from studying the condition of grinding section for POF mass production, the mass production condition was established as POF profile roughness of 6nm and the loss of 0.2dB or lower by controlling the film size and time step by step.
