  • From the geometric parameter study, an optimal ejector design procedure of pressure recovery system for chemical lasers was acquired. For given primary flow reservoir conditions, an up-scaled ejector was designed and manufactured. In the performance test, secondary mass flow rate of 100g/s air was entrained satisfying the design secondary pressure, $40{\sim}50torr$. Performance validation of a supersonic ejector system along with an investigation of effects of supersonic diffuser was conducted. Placement of the diffuser at the secondary inlet further reduced diffuser upstream pressure to 7torr. Lastly, the duplicate of apparatus (air 500g/s secondary mass flow rate each) was built and connected in parallel to assess proportionality behavior on a system to handle larger mass flow rate. Test and comparison of the parallel unit demonstrated the secondary mass flow rate was proportional to the number of individual units that were brought together maintaining the lasing pressure.

  • Three dimensional numerical studies were carried out to investigate the effect of aspect ratio on gas slip flow in rectangular microchannels. We focused on aspect ratio effect on slip velocity, pressure distribution and mass flow rate. As aspect ratio decreases the wall slip velocity also decreases. As a result nonlinearity of pressure distribution increases. The slip velocities on sides and top/bottom walls are different and this difference decreases with increasing aspect ratio. These two velocities are equal when aspect ratio is 1. The ratios of slip mass flow rate over noslip mass flow rate increases with increasing aspect ratios.

전단동축형 분사기들의 미립화 특성에 대한 연구 (Study on Atomization Characteristics of Shear Coaxial Injectors)

  • Six shear coaxial injectors with different recess length and taper angle were manufactured. Cold-flow tests on the injectors were performed at room temperature and pressure using water and air as simulants. By changing the water mass flow rate and air mass flow rate, spray images were taken under single-injection and bi-injection. Breakup length and spray angle were analyzed from instantaneous and averaged spray images using image processing techniques. For all the injectors, the breakup length generally decreased as the momentum flux ratio increased at the same gas mass flow rate. The injectors with 7.5° taper angle usually had the longest breakup length and the smallest spray angle. When the taper angle was 15° or more, it hardly affected breakup length and spray angle. The recess length did not influence breakup length but its effect on spray angle depended on the taper angle.

  • 많은 기존 공식중 세계의 가장 우수한 최대 유량공식을 찾아, 그 세개의 한계유량공식의 개요와, 냉각재상실사고시 격납용기격리에 실패하는 경우를 특정지을 수 있는 구멍의 크기와 격납용기의 압력 및 온도 등이 주어진 상태하에서 격납용기로부터 외부대기로 방출되는 개략적인 핵분열생성물의 양을 추정하기 위한 계산절차를 제시하였다. 이상기체의 임계유량공식과 이상유(two-phase flow)의 최대유량을 산출하기 위한 무디(Moody)의 도표를 이용하여 계산실예를 제시하였으며, 그 결과를 콘뎀프트-앨티(CONTEMPT-LT) 전산코드의 질량유출공식을 콘버징 노즐(converging nozzle)을 통과하는 음속류(sonic flow)의 경우에 적용하여 산출한 값과 비교하여 보았다. 이리하여 이상 기체의 임계유량공식은 무디(Moody)의 공식이 주는 값과 거의 비슷한 결과를 줌을 입증하였다. 또한 냉각재상실 사고시 격납용기로부터의 유출율을 추정하기 위해서는 콘템프트-앨티(CONTEMPT-LT)의 질량유출공식을 사용하는 것보다 이상 기체의 최대유량공식을 사용하는 것이 더 보수적인 방법임을 보여 주었다.

비극성용매 내의 벤젠 물질전달특성 (Mass transfer characteristics of benzene in nonpolar solution)

  • The absorption of benzene in nonpolar solution was studied in a laboratory-scale of bubble column varying of gas flow rates and gas-to-liquid ratios. A bubble column had a 0.8∼l$\times$10$\^$-3/ m$^3$ total volume (height 1500 mm, diameter 50 mm). Solution analysis was performed by GC-FID and GC-MSD. The objectives of this research were to select the best absorption fluid and to evaluate the mass transfer characteristics under specific conditions of each absorption. The results of this research were follow as: First, the heat transfer fluid is more efficient than the other nonpolar solution in removing VOC. Second, The benzene removal efficiency improved according to an increasing rate of gas flow. Also, volumetric mass transfer rate of column can be enhanced by increasing gas flow rate. Finally, the relation of gas flow rates, liquid amount, and volumetric mass transfer coefficient was obtained as follows. K$\_$y/a: 0.5906(V$\_$g//L)$\^$0.7611/ The following correlation of mass transfer coefficient and efficiency was proposed. v= 0.06078 K$\_$y/a$\^$0.2444/.

평판형 집열기의 지관수에 따른 유동특성에 대한 수치해석 연구 (Numerical Study on the Flow Characteristics of Flat-Plate Solar Collector with Riser Number)

  • It is essential to know the flow characteristics at the risers of Flat-plate solar collector for optimum design. For flat-plate solar collector, it is difficult to experimentally study the effect for the number of riser in the collector for the economic problem. So, this study was performed to show the flow characteristics of flat-plate solar collector with the number of riser using commercial code FLUENT 6.0. The base collector size is chosen with $2\;m^2$ as 1m by 2m in this study, the mass flow rate was estimated 0.04 kg/s using the mass flow rate of 0.02 kg/s per collector area for the certificate test. The number of riser is selected 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14. Through the simulation, the conditions with the risers of 10 or 12 is shown as the optimum design conditions for conventional flat-plate solar collector considering lower pressure drop and more uniformly distributed mass flow rate for higher heat transfer rate without considering heat transfer.

수평 냉각관 외부를 흘러내리는 $LiBr-H_2O$ 수용액의 유동 및 열/물질 전달 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Flow and Heat / Mass Transfer Characteristics of $LiBr-H_2O$ Solution Flowing over a Cooled Horizontal Tube)

  • An experimental study was performed to examine the heat and mass transfer characteristics of $LiBr-H_2O$ solution flowing over a single horizontal tube with the water vapor absorption. Effects of the flow rate and the temperature of the solution at the top of the tube, the absorber pressure and the drainage pattern were considered. The absorption rate depends highly on the absorber pressure at the low flow rate condition while on the solution inlet temperature at the high flow rate condition. Also, when the flow rate is low, the absorption performance with the sheet flow drainage appeared to be higher than that with the dripping/jet drainage. However, at the high flow rate condition, the case became reversed. The liquid film became wavy with the higher absorption rate. The waves were more probable to form with the lower flow rate and temperature of the solution, and with the higher absorber pressure.

  • 액체로켓 추진제 공급장치에 정착된 캐비테이션 벤튜리의 유량 제어 특성을 해석하였다. 해석에는 실험과 수치해석이 병행되었으며 캐비테이션이 존재하는 유동에서 두 결과의 유량 차이는 약 10%로 나타났다. 벤튜리 상류의 압력을 $22.8{\times}10^5$pa로 일정하게 유지하고 하류의 압력을 변동시켰을 때 $3{\times}10^5$pa 이상의 압력 차이에 대하여 유량이 증가하지 않음을 확인하였다. 비응축 기체의 농도 변화에 의하여 벤튜리 내부에 발생하는 증기의 분포는 크게 달라지지만 유량은 같은 수준이 유지되어 비응축 기체의 농도가 1.5PPM에서 150PPM로 커질 경우, 유량이 약 2% 감소하였다. 이는 작동유체가 포함하고 있는 비응축 기체의 팽창과 생성된 증기가 압력 회복을 저해하는 영향이 유사하기 때문으로 풀이된다.

  • 본 논문은 수직 오리피스 이젝터의 혼합유동 및 산소전달 특성에 대한 실험적 연구를 목적으로 한다. 실험장치는 전동 모터-펌프, 오리피스 이젝터, 순환 수조, 공기압축기, 고속 카메라 시스템 그리고 제어 및 측정기기로 구성하였다. 측정된 구동유체 및 유입공기의 유량을 이용하여 유량비를 도출하였다. 이적터에서 분출된 혼합유동의 가시화를 통해 정성적 거동을 고찰하였으며, 용존산소 농도를 측정하여 총괄 산소전달계수를 도출하였다. 구동유체의 유량이 일정하고 압축기의 공기압이 높아지면 유량비와 산소전달계수는 증가하며, 압축기의 공기압이 일정하고 구동유체의 유량이 증가하면 유량비는 감소하지만 산소전달계수는 증가하였다. 기포의 크기에 따른 체류시간 및 확산도와 수직 혼합유동의 도달거리는 2 상의 접촉면적과 시간에 크게 영향을 미치기 때문에 산소전달율의 중요한 변수임을 유추할 수 있다.

Flow and Pressure Drop Characteristics of R22 in Adiabatic Capillary Tubes

  • The objective of this study is to present flow and pressure drop characteristics of R22 in adiabatic capillary tubes of inner diameters of 1.2 to 2.0mm, and tube lengths of 500 to 2000mm. Distributions of temperature and pressure along capillary tubes and the refrigerant flow rates through the tubes were measured for several condensing temperatures and various degrees of subcooling at the capillary tube inlet. Condensing temperatures of R22 were selected as 40, 45, and 50$^{\circ}C$ at the capillary tube inlet, and the degree of subcooling was adjusted to 1 to 18$^{\circ}C$. Experimental results including mass flow rates and pressure drops of R22 in capillary tubes were provided. A new correlation based on Buckingham II theorem to predict the mass flow rate through the capillary tube was presented considering major parameters which affect the flow and pressure drop characteristcis.
