A Study on Counterfeit Electronic Parts Identification and Verification Methods to Improve the Reliability of Weapons Systems in Mass Production Phase (양산단계 무기체계 신뢰성 향상을 위한 위조 전자부품 식별 및 검증 방안에 대한 연구)

  • Due to the rapid development of science technology and the main characteristics of the defense industry, such as long development period, design complexity, high possibility of discontinuing parts due to long life cycle, and small quantity production, it can cause increasing of the inflow possibility of counterfeit electronic parts and deteriorating the reliability of weapons systems. This paper presents the specific criteria for the identification of electronic parts to be verified for mass produced weapons systems after the development is completed, and the identification and verification methods for the inflow of counterfeit electronic components.

  • A conceptual design of propulsion system for a geosynchronous communication satellite with 12 years design life is presented in this paper. Propellant mass budget for the design life is calculated using total velocity increment ($\Delta$V) flowed-down from mission requirement analysis. Sizes of the fuel and oxidizer tank are derived based on the calculated propellant mass budget, and mass of the pressurant as well as the size and Pressure of pressurant tank are calculated too. Thruster positioning, number of rocket engines, and position of tank are determined through trade-off study with Structure & Mechanical Subsystem. Propulsion system configuration and its schematics are presented finally.

  • Deliberative democracy places its great importance on the theory that the citizens should fill the role of conducting the principles of democratic society. This is divided into two main theoretical trends in modern political theories, a liberal theory advocated by J. Rawls and a critical one emphasized by J. Habermas. Mutual understanding between two scholars focuses on the responsibility of citizens; citizens should be the reflective persons who can accept the terms of just communication going beyond the preference of individual belief. It is not denied that the discussions of deliberative democracy guided by both Rawls and Habermas do not place emphasis upon mass media. Even though they seldom regard the argument how the current media can be a essential factor in encouraging deliberative democracy, they never close the eyes to the significance of communication. Rawls stresses the political freedom of speech as the very condition which leads to the citizens' autonomous participation in politics, while Habermas places his hope on the role of mass media that would amplify the citizens' will gushed out in public sphere.

  • This paper describes new communication methods for transmitting torque commands between the vehicle controller that determines the amount of power generation in a range-extended electric vehicle and the engine controller that performs it. Generally, vehicles use CAN communication, but in this case, the hardware and software of the existing engine controller must be modified. For this reason, it is not easy to apply CAN communication to small and medium sized automotive reorganize companies. Therefore, this research presents a pin-pin communication method for applying the existing mass produced engine controller to range-extended electric vehicles. The pin-pin communication method converts the driver's demand torque control map inside an mass produced engine controller into a virtual accelerator opening position according to the target speed and target torque of the engine, and converts this to a voltage signal for the existing mass produced engine controller to recognize it. The virtual accelerator opening positions are mounted in the form of a control map in the vehicle controller through the reverse conversion process in an offline environment and are determined by the engine generating power requirements and engine optimal operating point algorithm. These algorithms and signal conversion circuits for engine torque transmission have been mounted on the vehicle controller to conduct the virtual accelerator opening position conversion process according to the engine target torque and to establish the virtual accelerator voltage signal using the signal converter.

A Study on the Information Search Behavior Emphasis on the Self-image and Benefit - (의복 구매시 정보 탐색 활동에 관한 연구 -자아 이미지와 추구 편익을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the factors which explain consumer's information search behavior. Data were analyzed by utilizing factor analysis and multiple-regression to investigate the relationship among information sources, benefit, and actual and ideal self- image and demographics. Based on the results, information sources for benefit, actual and ideal self-image were developed. Predictors of information sources, benefits, and self-image were identified. Marketing implication about information sources were discussed. The results were as follows. 1. Actual and ideal self-images and information sources were devised into three factors. And benefits were devised into five factors. 2. Actual self-image has more predicting power than ideal self-image to the benefits which consumer sought. Among five benefits, character pursuit was the best predicted factor according to the self-image. 3. Among three information sources, mass communication was the most effective source which can be explained by the benefit and self-image. Fashion pursuit factor was the most significant factor to the mass communication oriented source.

An Exploration of Advertising Avoidance by Audiences across Media

  • This paper compares the difference in the degree of advertising avoidance between traditional media and the Internet. The study also examines customers' beliefs, attitudes, and behavior toward advertising to build a theoretical model that explains advertising avoidance. A survey was conducted to identify the influential factors. Findings indicate that on comparison, YouTube advertisements on the Internet were more problematic than TV commercial breaks, leading to high advertising avoidance on the part of consumers. Finally, using path analysis, a general advertising avoidance model based on the belief-attitude-behavior hierarchy is tested. The model shows that certain beliefs about advertising have direct effects on advertising avoidance behavior as well as on the attitude toward advertising.

Intermediate Holographic Data Storage System by Using Sequentially Superimposed Recording

  • We introduce a holographic data storage system for intermediating between small data sets and mass holographic data recording. It employs a holographic sequentially superimposed recording technique. We discuss a time scheduling technique for making uniform reconstruction of sequentially recorded holograms and we show experimental results. We also discuss the Bragg selectivity of sequentially recorded holograms. The maximum storage density of our system is estimated to be 224kbit/$mm^2$. Our system is useful as an intermediate recording system before recording mass holographic data in a larger system.

  • 인력구조의 고용창출 산업이라는 점에서 시사점이 되었으며, 본 연구에서는 안동지역의 문화콘텐츠자원을 활용한 일자리 창출방안을 제시하고자 했다. 콘텐츠산업을 활용한 성공적인 일자리창출의 핵심요건은 지역의 여건을 고려한 콘텐츠 사업추진이 관건이다. 경북 안동지역에서 최근 추진되고 있는 콘텐츠사업으로 인한 일자리 창출 현황과 성과를 분석하고 문제점을 도출함으로써 향후 새로운 콘텐츠사업 개발에 대한 대안의 제기나 가이드라인을 제공하고자 하는 것이 이 논문의 목적이다.

  • This paper is about the implementation of the OFDM-based border guard/reconnaissance communication terminal systems. We have implemented Real-time Dynamic DL/UL symbol rate control function using the DL-MAP message, and proposed error detection method caused by malfunctioning and timing optimization method. The proposed scheme detects the variable rate symbol decoding timing without increasing additional physical layer logic, and also provides a wide variety of DL/UL data transfer rate. Furthermore, the proposed scheme applies to the current border guard/reconnaissance equipment and confirms a operation performance through field tests and demonstration at home and abroad.

Retroperitoneal Spinal Extradural Arachnoid Cyst Combined with Congenital Hemivertebrae

  • Spinal extradural arachnoid cysts usually cause symptoms related to spinal cord or nerve root compression. Here, we report an atypical presentation of a spinal extradural arachnoid cyst combined with congenital hemivertebra which was presented as a retroperitoneal mass that exerted mass effects to the abdominal organs. On image studies, the communication between the cystic pedicle and the spinal arachnoid space was indistinct. Based on our experience and the literature of the pathogenesis, we planned anterior approach for removal of the arachnoid cyst in order to focus on mass removal rather than ligation of the fistulous channel. In our estimation this was feasible considering radiologic findings and also essential for the symptom relief. The cyst was totally removed with the clogged 'thecal sac-side' end of the cystic pedicle. The patient was free of abdominal discomfort by one month after the surgery.
