Equilume light masks had no impact on hastening the resumption of estrous cyclicity in mares maintained in outdoor pastures on the mainland of Korea due to the cold weather conditions. Jeju Island is a major horse-breeding site in Korea and is warmer than the mainland during the winter season. Therefore, the primary objective of this study was to explore the efficiency of the Equilume light mask on the resumption of seasonal estrous cycles in Thoroughbred mares on Jeju Island. A total of 20 nonpregnant mares were randomly divided into the Equilume light mask (n = 9) and stable lighting (n =11) groups. The experiment was performed at seven different horse-breeding farms located on Jeju Island from November 15, 2020, to February 15, 2021. The mares were exposed to the respective lights from 16:00 to 23:00. Follicle size and uterine edema were measured by ultrasound scanning. Body condition scores (BCS) were also monitored during the experiment. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SAS and SPSS software, and p-values of < 0.05 were considered statistically significant. Two of the nine (22.2%) mares in the Equilume light mask group and three of the 11 (27.28%) mares in the stable lighting group were still cycling in December and January, which were considered as all-year-round cycling mares. On February 15, there was no difference between groups in the resumption of early seasonal estrus cycle, which was determined by follicles > 25 mm in addition to uterine edema. All mares in the Equilume light mask group and five of the eight mares (62.5%) in the stable lighting group had resumed cycling. Interestingly, six of the seven mares (87.5%) in the Equilume light mask and four of eight mares (50%) in the stable lighting group had already ovulated on February 15 (p > 0.05), as determined by the presence of a recent corpus luteum. No difference was observed in BCS and uterine edema between groups (p > 0.05). In conclusion, the Equilume light mask can be an effective approach to induce early seasonal estrus cycles of mares in Jeju Island, and it also enhances the efficiency of farm management by reducing labor.

The number of public transportation users has dropped drastically due to COVID-19. In this work, my survey was conducted to uncover the factors that influence citizens' travel patterns. Data were collected and logistic regression analysis on the shifts in transportation was undertaken. Additionally, an importance-performance analysis was carried out to investigate how to effectively operate public transportation systems and improve facilities. The main research findings were as follows: First, the more individuals were concerned about COVID-19 (+) and being infected when using public transportation (+), the greater the tendency to switch to private transportation modes. Secondly, when it came to personal traits, respondents who could drive a car (+) or owned a car (+)or did more online shopping (+) or used public transportation for trips (+) tended to switch over, compared with respondents who could not drive or did not own a caror used public transportation to commute. In addition, respondents who were vaccinated (-) or had more household members tended not to switch transportation modes, compared with those who were not vaccinated or had fewer household members. Third, it is important to continue the following efforts to safeguardhygiene linked to public transportation: wearing masks, disinfecting hands, controlling diseases, and general cleaning. The conclusion was that it is important to put traffic congestion and ventilation issues first, especially in regards public transportation, which was not rated as satisfactory enough compared to its importance. The research findings can provide useful basic data when establishing countermeasures to the current COVID-19 circumstances in the areas of public transportation operation and management and in the event of an infectious disease outbreak in the future.

In January 2007, the Remains Excavation and Investigation Team of the Ministry of National Defense was established, and full-scale excavation of remains was promoted. Currently, the scope of the excavation is being expanded to Baekma Hill within the DMZ, where fierce battles were fought during the Korean War. Now, many remains and remains are being excavated in Baekma hill. Most are in damaged condition. Therefore, in this study, the original form of the excavated remains was restored using 3D scanning and 3D modeling. This digital restoration method can be an alternative to compensate for the disadvantages of the manual method. Currently, various digital restorations using 3D technology are active in the field of cultural heritage. Digitally restored materials can be used as basic data for digital heritage. Based on this, various contents related to excavation of remains and patriots and veterans can be developed. Furthermore, if digital human restoration is made based on the excavated remains, it will be possible to reproduce the appearance of the dead.
The data augmentation technique is effectively used to solve the problem of overfitting the model by allowing the training dataset to be viewed from various perspectives. In addition to image augmentation techniques such as rotation, cropping, horizontal flip, and vertical flip, occlusion-based data augmentation methods such as Cutmix and Cutout have been proposed. For models based on speech data, it is possible to use an occlusion-based data-based augmentation technique after converting a 1D speech signal into a 2D spectrogram. In particular, SpecAugment is an occlusion-based augmentation technique for speech spectrograms. In this study, we intend to compare and study data augmentation techniques that can be used in the problem of false-voice detection. Using data from the ASVspoof2017 and ASVspoof2019 competitions held to detect fake audio, a dataset applied with Cutout, Cutmix, and SpecAugment, an occlusion-based data augmentation method, was trained through an LCNN model. All three augmentation techniques, Cutout, Cutmix, and SpecAugment, generally improved the performance of the model. In ASVspoof2017, Cutmix, in ASVspoof2019 LA, Mixup, and in ASVspoof2019 PA, SpecAugment showed the best performance. In addition, increasing the number of masks for SpecAugment helps to improve performance. In conclusion, it is understood that the appropriate augmentation technique differs depending on the situation and data.
In the paper, this study will be explored in the migration of the mask dance Eunyeul Talchum from North Korea to South Korea after the national division took place. During and after the Korean War, refugees from the Hwanghae province settled in the Republic of Korea who were performers of the three Korean mask dances: Bongsan Talchum, Kangryeong Talchum and Eunyeul Talchum. All of these mask dances are denoted as South Korea's National Intangible Properties under the Cultural Property Protection Law (1962.) However, Eunyeul Talchum is the only asset among these three that settled in Incheon, instead of the capital, Seoul. The purpose of this research is to examine the process of restoring and the idea of transmitting Eunyeul Talchum in Incheon after the division of Korea. As opposed to Bongsan Talchum and Gangryeong Talchum, which are recognized as major socio-ethnic groups, Eunyeul Talchum belongs to a minority. Because not only Eunyeul Talchum is the last Mask Dance which has been nominated as an Intangible asset among the other Hwanghae Talchum but also, most people in the preservation association are comprised of the second-generation refugees from Hwanghae province. During three months of research, the researcher observed the performances and the educational communicating Eunyeul Talchum's cultural legacy. This study included several research methods: open interview, examination of relevant documents, and live performances. Particularly, the researcher conducted interviews with the Human Cultural Property and musicians (including professional/scholarly to lay/untrained) in the Preservation Association. In conclusion, Eunyeul Talchum preservation association is not as preeminent as other Korean mask dances, it has been transmitted by performers from Hwanghae province with its unique masks and instrumental accompaniment. These performers and educators dedication to maintaining Eunyeul Talchum's attributes contribute largely to the Preservation Association's successful settlement in Incheon. Thus, the researcher examines which idea formed to subsist the Eunyeul Talchum preservation association.

This paper suggests a new algorithm automatically searching for Region-of-Interest(ROI) with high speed, using the edge information of high frequency subband transformed with wavelet. The proposed method executes a searching algorithm of 4-direction object boundary by the unit of block using the edge information, and detects ROIs. The whole image is splitted by $64{\times}64$ or $32{\times}32$ sized blocks and the blocks can be ROI block or background block according to taking the edges or not. The 4-directions searche the image from the outside to the center and the algorithm uses a feature that the low-DOF image has some edges as one goes to center. After searching all the edges, the method regards the inner blocks of the edges as ROI, and makes the ROI masks and sends them to server. This is one of the dynamic ROI method. The existing methods have had some problems of complicated filtering and region merge, but this method improved considerably the problems. Also, it was possible to apply to an application requiring real-time processing caused by the process of the unit of block.

Objective: This study aimed to determine whether there are regional differences in the blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability of cognitively normal elderly participants and to identify factors influencing BBB permeability with a clinically feasible, 10-minute dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI protocol. Materials and Methods: This IRB-approved prospective study recruited 35 cognitively normal adults (26 women; mean age, 64.5 ± 5.6 years) who underwent DCE T1-weighted imaging. Permeability maps (Ktrans) were coregistered with masks to calculate the mean regional values. The paired t test and Friedman test were used to compare Ktrans between different regions. The relationships between Ktrans and the factors of age, sex, education, cognition score, vascular risk burden, vascular factors on imaging, and medial temporal lobar atrophy were assessed using Pearson correlation and the Spearman rank test. Results: The mean permeability rates of the right and left hippocampi, as assessed with automatic segmentation, were 0.529 ± 0.472 and 0.585 ± 0.515 (Ktrans, x 10-3 min-1), respectively. Concerning the deep gray matter, the Ktrans of the thalamus was significantly greater than those of the putamen and hippocampus (p = 0.007, p = 0.041). Regarding the white matter, the Ktrans value of the occipital white matter was significantly greater than those of the frontal, cingulate, and temporal white matter (p < 0.0001, p = 0.0007, p = 0.0002). The variations in Ktrans across brain regions were not related to age, cognitive score, vascular risk burden, vascular risk factors on imaging, or medial temporal lobar atrophy in the study group. Conclusion: Our study demonstrated regional differences in BBB permeability (Ktrans) in cognitively normal elderly adults using a clinically acceptable 10-minutes DCE imaging protocol. The regional differences suggest that the integrity of the BBB varies across the brains of cognitively normal elderly adults. We recommend considering regional differences in Ktrans values when evaluating BBB permeability in patients with neurodegenerative diseases.

Objective: We aimed to investigate whether image standardization using deep learning-based computed tomography (CT) image conversion would improve the performance of deep learning-based automated hepatic segmentation across various reconstruction methods. Materials and Methods: We collected contrast-enhanced dual-energy CT of the abdomen that was obtained using various reconstruction methods, including filtered back projection, iterative reconstruction, optimum contrast, and monoenergetic images with 40, 60, and 80 keV. A deep learning based image conversion algorithm was developed to standardize the CT images using 142 CT examinations (128 for training and 14 for tuning). A separate set of 43 CT examinations from 42 patients (mean age, 10.1 years) was used as the test data. A commercial software program (MEDIP PRO v2.0.0.0, MEDICALIP Co. Ltd.) based on 2D U-NET was used to create liver segmentation masks with liver volume. The original 80 keV images were used as the ground truth. We used the paired t-test to compare the segmentation performance in the Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) and difference ratio of the liver volume relative to the ground truth volume before and after image standardization. The concordance correlation coefficient (CCC) was used to assess the agreement between the segmented liver volume and ground-truth volume. Results: The original CT images showed variable and poor segmentation performances. The standardized images achieved significantly higher DSCs for liver segmentation than the original images (DSC [original, 5.40%-91.27%] vs. [standardized, 93.16%-96.74%], all P < 0.001). The difference ratio of liver volume also decreased significantly after image conversion (original, 9.84%-91.37% vs. standardized, 1.99%-4.41%). In all protocols, CCCs improved after image conversion (original, -0.006-0.964 vs. standardized, 0.990-0.998). Conclusion: Deep learning-based CT image standardization can improve the performance of automated hepatic segmentation using CT images reconstructed using various methods. Deep learning-based CT image conversion may have the potential to improve the generalizability of the segmentation network.

Open-vocabulary 3D point cloud instance segmentation (OV-3DIS) is a challenging visual task to segment a 3D scene point cloud into object instances of both base and novel classes. In this paper, we propose a novel model Open3DME for OV-3DIS to address important design issues and overcome limitations of the existing approaches. First, in order to improve the quality of class-agnostic 3D masks, our model makes use of T3DIS, an advanced Transformer-based 3D point cloud instance segmentation model, as mask proposal module. Second, in order to obtain semantically text-aligned visual features of each point cloud segment, our model extracts both 2D and 3D features from the point cloud and the corresponding multi-view RGB images by using pretrained CLIP and OpenSeg encoders respectively. Last, to effectively make use of both 2D and 3D visual features of each point cloud segment during label assignment, our model adopts a unique feature ensemble method. To validate our model, we conducted both quantitative and qualitative experiments on ScanNet-V2 benchmark dataset, demonstrating significant performance gains.
The geochemical high-grade uranium anormal zone has been reported in the Shinbo mine and its eastern areas, Jinan-gun, Jeollabuk-do located in the southwestern part of Ogcheon metamorphic zone, Korea. In this paper is reported the time-relationship between deformation and growth of metamorphic minerals in the eastern area of Shinbo mine, which consists of the Precambrian metasedimentary rocks (quartzite, metapelite, metapsammite) and the age-unknown pegmatite and Cretaceous porphyry which intrude them, and is considered the relative mineralization time on the basis of the previous research's result. The D1 deformation formed the straight-type Si internal foliation which is defined mainly as the arrangement of elongate quartz, biotite, opaque mineral in andalusite porphyroblast. The D2 deformation, which is defined by the microfolding of Si foliation, formed S2 crenulation cleavage. It can be divided into two sub-phases, early crenulation and late crenulation. The former occurs as the curvetype Si foliation in the mantle part of andalusite. The latter occurs as S1-2 composite foliation which warps around the andalusite. The andalusite porphyroblast began to grow under non-deformation condition after the formation of S1 foliation which corresponds to the straight-type Si foliation. It continued to grow before the late crenulation phase. The age-unknown pegmatite intruded after the D2 deformation and grew the fibrous sillimanite which random masks the S1-2 composite foliation. The D3 deformation formed F3 fold which folded the S1-2 composite foliation, D2 crenulation, fibrous sillimanite. It means that the intrusion of pegmatite related to the growth of the fibrous sillimanite took place during the inter-tectonic phase of D2 and D3 deformations. The retrograde metamorphism is recognized by the chloritization of biotite and two-way cleavage lamellae which is parallel to the S1-2 composite foliation and the F3 fold axial surface in the andalusite porphyroblast. It occurred during the D2 late crenulation phase and D3 deformation. In considering of the previous research's result inferring the most likely candidate for the uranium source rock as pegamatite, it indicates that the age-unknown pegmatite intruded during the inter-tectonic phase of D2 and D3 deformations, i.e. during the retrograde metamorphism related to the uplifting of crust, and formed the uranium ore zone around the Shinbo mine.
