The purpose of this study is to produce an essential guideline for making costumes for traditional Korean mask plays by doing a comparative analysis between traditional Korean mask plays and Italian 'Commedia dell'arte'. The results of this study are as follow. The costumes of Korea's mask plays were mainly used to show difference in social status. Analysis showed that costume features, such as color, fabric, and silhouette, were not important to the traits of the character. On the other hand, the costumes in the Italian 'Commedia dell'arte' were used to express the characters' traits. The colors, fabric and silhouettes were exaggerated compared to everyday wear. This enhanced the looks of the character, and it kept on developing with the demands of the culture consumer. This study was performed to support further development and success of traditional Korean mask plays.

본 연구는 하회탈이 갖고 있는 감성적 요인에 대해 알아보고 문화상품과 관련한 제품디자인 개발에 도움이 되고자 시도되었다. 하회탈 이미지 평가를 위해 감성 형용사 어휘 32개를 추출하여 분석한 결과 첫째, 32개의 감성 평가 어휘로 하회탈 이미지에 대해 알아본 결과, '매력성', '향토성', '흥미성', '역동성', '정교성'의 5개 요인이 나타났다. 둘째, 하회탈 종류에 따라 향토성과 흥미성에서 감성 차이가 있었다. 특히 양반탈이 초랭이탈보다 향토성이 강하며, 중탈, 백정탈 및 부네탈보다는 흥미성이 더욱 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 하회탈 상품의 재질에 따라 정교성에서 감성 차이가 있었고, 특히 유리 재질에 대해 정교한 이미지를 가지고 있었다. 넷째, 하회탈의 감성이미지는 인구통계학적 특성(나이, 성별, 학력)과 제품 특성(재질, 탈 종류)에 영향을 받고 있었다. 본 연구를 토대로 향후 하회탈 관련 문화상품 개발시 5가지 감성적 요인을 고려한다면 소비자의 니즈에 부합하는 제품 디자인 개발이 이루어질 것이다.

자전거 이용자가 안경 및 선글라스를 쓴 상태에서 마스크를 착용 할 때 여러 가지 불편함을 호소한다. 본 논문은 이러한 불편함을 보완하여 자전거 라이더들에게 필요한 일회용 미세먼지 마스크를 개발하는데 그 목적이 있다. 미세먼지 마스크의 특성상 일회성 정전기 발생 섬유와 마스크의 형태적 문제로 연구범위를 제한하고 기존 미세먼지 마스크를 간결한 제작공정으로 디자인한다. 이렇게 개발된 일회용 미세먼지 마스크는 세로방향 접힘으로 입 앞 마스크 내 공간을 충분히 확보하였고 거친 숨에도 입에 닿지 않게 접힘 부위형태가 유지 되게 하여 답답함을 최소화 하였다. 코지지대에 유선형 스폰지를 부착하고 안면 볼 부위를 일반마스크 보다 2.5cm 정도의 확장하여 측면 밀착성을 높였다. 또한 기존에 없던 일회용 미세먼지 스카프 마스크를 제작하여 안면과 목 부위 자외선을 차단하고 밀착성 높은 미세먼지 마스크를 개발하였다.

This paper proposes a method to improve the image quality by designing Unsharp Mask Filter (UMF) based on Retinex theory which controls the frequency pass characteristics adaptively. Conventional unsharp masking technique uses blurring image to emphasize sharpness of image. Unsharp Masking(UM) adjusts the original image and sigma to obtain a high frequency component to be emphasized by the difference between the blurred image and the high frequency component to the original image, thereby improving the contrast ratio of the image. In this paper, we design a Unsharp Mask Filter(UMF) that can process the contrast ratio improvement method of Unsharp Masking(UM) technique with one filtering. We adaptively process the contrast ratio improvement using Unsharp Mask Filter(UMF). We propose a method based on Retinex theory for adaptive processing. For adaptive filtering, we control the weights of Unsharp Mask Filter(UMF) based on the human visual system and output more effective results.

본 연구에서는 공기 정화식 마스크의 필터로 사용되는 일반적인 부직포와 전기방사 나노섬유가 코팅된 부직포에 대한 미세 구조를 분석하고 미세먼지 차단 특성을 향상 시킬 수 있는 새로운 마스크 디자인을 제안하였다. 평균적으로 $25{\mu}m$의 직경을 갖는 부직포 섬유와 달리 전기방사 방법으로 형성된 나노섬유는 그 직경이 25 nm~120 nm로 매우 작아 비표면적이 크고, 불규칙적으로 배열된 촘촘한 그물방 구조를 갖고 있었다. 일반적인 부직포 필터는 부직포 섬유 표면의 정전기력에 의해 미세먼지를 흡착할 수 있었지만, 수십 ${\mu}m$ 크기 이상의 기공이 부직포 전반에 걸쳐 존재하기 때문에, 수 ${\mu}m$ 크기를 갖는 미세먼지를 여과하는데 한계가 있었다. 반면 나노섬유가 코팅된 부직포 필터의 경우, 나노섬유의 구조적 특성으로 인해 투과성과 통기성을 유지하면서 수 ${\mu}m$ 크기의 미세먼지를 기계적으로 흡착하여 효과적으로 여과할 수 있었다. 우수한 마스크 필터의 성능과 더불어 올바른 마스크 착용이 미세먼지 차단 특성을 극대화 할 수 있는데, 이를 위해 안면부와 마스크 사이의 틈으로 미세먼지의 유입을 막을 수 있도록 안면부에 밀착이 잘 될 수 있는 새로운 마스크 디자인을 제안하였다.

This research investigated the needs analysis on consumers of fine dust masks to effectively develop a design prototype. Data were collected through focus group interviews on 32 individuals who have used fine dust masks. As a result, there is a new demand by consumers for technology based design changes that better fit the nose and face. Consumers preferred the smell and feel of traditional Korean paper. Young adults expressed the importance of masks that can be used for protection as well as fashion. The prototype improved the drawbacks of existing models using an origami-inspired design in a variety of colors, patterns and in sizes that are customized to fit the wearer. The proposed prototype is made of Dak felt fibers and jersey materials. It is characterized by downward-facing ear bands made of polyurethane to improve the fit around the ears and chin to more effectively block incoming air. The mask is foldable and has a crease that goes along the chin to increase the amount of enclosed space against the face making it easier to breathe compared to existing mask designs.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the obligatory wearing of masks has led to increased consumer demand and the diversification of mask design. Accordingly, it is necessary to understand the inner meaning and characteristics of masks in the pandemic situation. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to analyze the characteristics of fashionable masks and their new cultural meaning under the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is based on literature review and empirical research. Drawing on an investigation of the historical evolution of masks and their transition under the pandemic (exhibiting differences in mask culture among countries and regions), this study analyzed 54 distinctive fashion masks designed by fashion brands and influencers that appeared from January 2020 to January 2021. The characteristics of fashion masks identified under the influence of the pandemic are as follows: Message delivery on political issues and human rights; psychological defense and expression of individuality; and conspicuous display via luxurious materials and luxury brand logos; moreover, the design of the mask uses the same material, color, pattern, decoration, and other methods as clothing to achieve the overall style. Over the course of the pandemic (and even in post-pandemic lifestyle), fashion masks are becoming more diversified conveying new social and cultural meanings.

상용화된 Wave Steganography가 가지고 있는 Mask가 쉽게 필터링 될 수 있다는 문제점을 개선하고 Capacity를 높여 Cover-data 선택의 폭을 확장시킬 수 있는 $\delta$SAcc234bit Mask Data Insertion 알고리즘을 설계 구현하였다. 또한 Mask 의 보안수준을 향상시키기 위해 3-Tier 파일 암호화 알고리즘도 제안하고 적용하였다. 3-Tier 파일 암호화 알고리즘은 파일에 따라 Ciphertext에 특정한 패턴이 나타난다는 문제점을 개선한 알고리즘이다. 본 논문에서 제안한 $\delta$SAcc234bit Mask Data Insertion 알고리즘과 3-Tier 파일 암호화 알고리즘을 이용하여 Wave Steganography를 수행해주는 StegoWaveK 모델을 설계 구현하였다.

Among korean traditional culture, TalChum(mask dance) which bears our unique cultural emotion, is about wearing a Tal(korean mask) and dancing, which express our ethnic feeling. The ethnic feeling was expressed into silhouette of hotel uniform which sightseers at home and abroad most frequently visit. This would be the best and the fastest way to show and deliver ethinic feeling of Korea. Fashion design of an uniform would be the best way to express group's unification and attachment. The purpose of this study was to design uniforms, in order to satisfy the property of function, aesthetic points, symbolism to inhere and to differentiate the group from others by using plastic and creative design. This study was meant to induce people to get near to characteristic of Korean culture, using hotel uniform design. Mask's plastic beauty of characteristic Chosun dynasty and express vividly Tal's image with Korean traditional reality was applied on hotel uniform design. By doing so, visitors can come back to the hotel with longtime memory of Korea. The characteristics and the humorous symbolism of Tal were designed and applied to uniform design on collar, bodice, pocket, and sleeves.
