현대 니트 패션에 표현된 젠더 플루이드 특성 연구 (A study on the characteristics of gender fluidity expressed in modern knit fashion)

  • This study examines how the concept of gender fluidity-viewing gender identity as a fluid and wide spectrum-is represented in modern knit fashion collections. The period spring/summer 2017-fall/winter 2021, when gender-related fashion keywords started attracting attention, was limited to the last five years, and the results of a case analysis focused on a total of 357 knit fashion photos are as follows. First, the androgynous compromise through the mixing of heterogeneous elements appears as a mix-and-match style due to the patchwork of heterogeneous materials and forms that borrow or share masculinity and femininity. Second, it was confirmed that the dismantling exaggeration caused by the destruction of the size and form of clothes was an avant-garde image that exaggerated the size or length of clothes or destroyed ideas and forms. Third, the exposed sensuality caused by the deformation of the fluid knitting technique was shown in the form of proudly expressing sexuality by exposing the body either using the cut-out technique or through the loose texture of the knit. Knit fashion can highlight decorative effects using handcrafted techniques and express a detailed or coarse sense of organization depending on the density. In addition, since it is possible to create a complex image by juxtaposing and mixing various knit structures, it was confirmed that it is a suitable material for expressing gender fluidity flowing between men and women in fashion.

초등학생의 비만도 및 식행동과 성격특성과의 관련 연구 (Relationships among Obesity, Food Behavior, and Personality Traits in Elementary School Children)

  • In this study, the relationships among obesity, food behavior, and personality traits were studied in male and female elementary school children. The obesity rates were calculated via the measured heights and weights of the subjects. Food behavior was surveyed via a questionnaire. Personality traits were evaluated using an authorized personality test. The obesity rates in the child subjects in this study were 34.1%in the male children, and 28.7% in the female children, and the rates of underweight were 18.2% in the males and 28.7% in the females. The percentage of obese children was slightly higher in the male population than in the female population. With regard to food behavior, the females evidenced significantly higher points than the males, particularly on the items designated 'slow eating' and 'stop eating upon satiety'. Among the personality traits assessed herein, which included emotional stability, general activity, sociability, masculinity, responsibility, reflectiveness, and superiority, the females evidenced significantly higher sociability scores than the males. The personality traits did not appear to be significantly associated with the obesity rate. However, the obese children scored lowest on all personality traits among the three groups. In terms of the relationship between food behavior and personality traits, children with high stability, sociability, responsibility, and superiority also had significantly higher food behavior scores. These results imply that the maintenance of good food behavior may enhance stability, sociability, responsibility, and superiority in children.

  • Kate Burns, a disillusioned Irish woman in Quetzalcoatl, has alternating feelings of fear, repulsion, oppression, compassion, and fascination vis-à-vis Mexican people. Together, these feelings are constitutive of a psychic process in which an imaginary appropriation of the other takes place. In this process white subjectivity represents or reconstructs the dark race precisely as its other. At the same time, Kate's feelings register her anxious recognition of the resistant, unappropriated being of the dark people: their true 'otherness,' or what Žižek calls "the excess of existence over representation." The otherness, frequently racial and sexual, evokes mixed feelings in the white subject. Kate's at once amorous and aggressive response to Ramón's body provides a case in point. Kate's emotional undulation is considerably mitigated in The Plumed Serpent, the revised version of the novel in which the theme of 'blood-mixing' is pushed to the ultimate point. Yet the interracial marriage resolves neither the racial nor the ontologico-sexual issues raised in the first version. Kate is still attracted to Ramón in his sagacious sensuality but goes on to get married to Cipriano, a pure Indian, only to find his mechanical masculinity ever unpalatable. This shows, not just Lawrence's wilful commitment to the 'blood-mixing' theme, but perhaps his lingering taboo against miscegenation as well. Changes in the plot entail those in the narrative voice. In Quetzalcoatl, Owen, a spectatorial and gossipy character, frequently competes for narration with the fully participant third-person narrator. In The Plumed Serpent, the third-person narrator becomes predominant, now attempting with greater confidence to present the reality of the racial other immediately to European readership. While such immediacy is illusional, narrative insistence on it implies a struggle to displace racial stereotypes and offer an experiential understanding of the other.

성별에 따른 젠더 관련 이슈 인식 격차 감소를 위한 대학 교육의 필요성: K대학 사례를 중심으로 (The Necessity of Education to Reduce the Perception Gap on the Gender-Related Issues between Male and Female Students: Focusing on the Case of K University)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 K대학 학생들의 성별에 따른 젠더 관련 이슈에 대한 인식 차이를 살펴보고 대학 교육 체계 내에서의 대응 방안을 제안하는 것이다. 연구 결과 첫째, 남성은 여성에 대한 구조적 차별은 존재하지 않고 역으로 남성이 차별 받고 있다고 생각하는 반면, 여성의 경우 이와는 반대되는 인식을 보이고 있다. 둘째, 여성의 노력 정도 및 소득이 낮은 이유, 취업 후 업무능력등에 대해서도 남녀는 유의미한 인식 차이를 나타낸다. 셋째, 남성들의 경우 여성에 비해 페미니즘에 대해 비우호적인 태도를 보이고 있다. 넷째, 남성들이 여성 할당제와 페미니즘에 대해 적대적 태도를 보이는 이유로는 남성에게 부과되는 전통적인 성 역할 모델의 영향과 구조적 불평등에 대한 남녀의 관점 차이를 들 수 있다. 이와 같은 현실 인식의 남녀 간 격차를 줄이기 위해서는 헤게모니적 남성성에 대한 고찰, 정확한 정보를 바탕으로 한 쟁점 교육, 실수 친화적 공간 마련을 통한 쟁점의 공론화, 그리고 시민 교육의 관점에서 대학 차원의 대응이 필요하다는 점을 제안하였다.

조선시대 남성복식에 발현된 성리학적 몸 인식 (Perception of the Neo-Confucian body in men's dress during the Joseon Dynasty)

  • Comprehending the prevailing ideals of the body within a specific era requires grasping the intricate interplay between social phenomena and the evolution of clothing. Accordingly, this study investigates the distinctive facets of the perception of the Neo-Confucian body as reflected in men's dress during the Joseon Dynasty. We examine a comprehensive body of scholarship, literature, and historical records concerning the body and dress. Additionally, we also employ a framework developed by M. Y. Kim, which categorizes the Neo-Confucian body in three ways: as the natural body, the cultural body, and the body as a fully-realized moral subject. Our findings unveil three crucial insights: firstly, guided by Neo-Confucian discourse positing appearance as a manifestation of innate energy (氣), men's dress was deliberately designed to demarcate stylistic distinctions in women's dress; secondly, the Chinese gwan (冠) was employed as a tool of self-cultivation (修身) to symbolize the legitimacy of Joseon's Neo-Confucian governance; and thirdly, sim-ui (深衣), a philosophical emblem of Confucianism extensively represented across through an intensified exploration of historical sources, served as a means to consolidate the political standing of the Neo-Confucian faction. As a consequence of these factors, the attire of noble men conferred upon them both sexual and moral ascendancy as political entities; men's dress became a visual manifestation of the legitimacy of their power, thus embodying Neo-Confucian ideals. This study carries significance by applying a discourse analysis approach to Korean dress research and elucidating the factors underlying the development of men's dress during the Joseon Dynasty.

로컬, 룸펜, 경제적 인간, 곽하신 소설의 세 좌표 (Local, Jobless Person, Homo Economicus, Three Axis of Kwak Hashin's Works)

  • 이 논문은 현대소설사 연구에서 잊힌 작가 곽하신의 소설세계의 전체 면모를 복원, 분석함으로써 문학사의 외연을 확장하고자 한다. 이를 위해 곽하신 작품세계의 단절 내지 비연속성에 주목하여 식민지기와 전후로 시기를 크게 분절하고, 각 시기 작품세계의 특징을 로컬(식민 시기), 룸펜(전후), 경제적 인간(전후 일부 단편, 장편대중소설)이라는 세 좌표를 중심으로 분석하고자 한다. 2장 '로컬-『문장』지의 세계관'에서는 30년대 후반 『문장』지에 집중 발표된 곽하신의 소설이 사라져가는 것들에 대한 비애, 전근대적인 시간의식, 로컬-향토에 대한 지향성을 뚜렷하게 드러냈다는 점에서 일제 말기 문학의 한 흐름인 반(反)근대의 미의식을 구현하였다고 평가하였다. 3장 '룸펜-전후 남성(성)의 형성(1)'과 4장 '만인에 대한 만인의 투쟁 상태, 경제적 인물의 등장-전후 남성(성)의 형성(2)'에서는 50년대 말 전쟁이라는 비상시국을 경유해 전후 저개발 자본주의 국가에 진입한 한국사회의 현실이 한편으로는 룸펜, 루저 남성으로, 다른 한편으로는 공리주의나 승자독식의 세계관을 체현한 남성이라는 대조적인 남성-젠더의 출현으로 형상화 된다고 파악했다. 50년대 말 '룸펜' 소설들은 한국 경제의 문제점을 허약한 남성(성)을 통해 보여주었다. 남성-젠더/지식인은 삶의 토대가 마련되지 못 한 전후 현실에서 자신의 무능력과 불안을 여성/아내에게 투사하거나 도덕이나 친밀성보다 생존을 도모하는 길을 취한다. 특히 4장에서 분석한 대중소설 <여인의 노래>, <무화과(無花果) 그늘>에는 입신출세를 위해 동료를 배신하거나, 음모를 꾸미거나, 연애관계를 이용하여 여성의 성을 착취하는 성취지향적인 남성인물, 만인에 대한 만인의 투쟁 상태를 체현한 경제적 인간들이 등장한다. 자신이 살아남기 위해서 남을 밟고 일어서야 하는 약육강식의 경제적 인간이 전후 남성 젠더로 구축되는 과정을 선악의 대립이라는 대중소설의 형식을 빌려 보여주는 것이다. 지금까지 살펴본 바와 같이 곽하신은 식민 시기 한국어로 글쓰기, 문학 하기의 마지막 세대에 해당한다는 점, 저널리즘적 세태묘사, 대중소설의 양식을 빌려 전후문학의 범례를 제공했다는 점에서 문학사의 주변에서 외연을 확장한 작가로 재평가될 필요가 있다.

Effects of Storytelling in Advertising on Consumers' Empathy

  • Differentiated positioning becomes increasingly difficult when brand salience weakens. Also, the daily increase in new media use and information load has led to a social climate that regards advertising stimuli as spamming. For these reasons, the focus of advertisement-related communication is shifting from persuading consumers through the direct delivery of information to an emphasis on appealing to their emotions using matching stimuli to enhance persuasion effects. Recently, both academia and industry have increasingly shown an interest in storytelling methods that can generate positive emotional responses and attitude changes by arousing consumers' narrative processing. The purpose of storytelling is to elicit consumers' emotional experience to meet the objectives of advertisement producers. Therefore, the most important requirement for storytelling in advertising is that it evokes consumers' sympathy for the main character in the advertisement. This does not involve advertisements directly persuading consumers, but rather, consumers themselves finding an answer through the advertisement's story. Thus, consumers have an indirect experience regarding the product features and usage through empathy with the advertisement's main character. In this study, we took the results of a precedent study as the starting point, according to which consumers' emotional response can be altered depending on the storytelling methods adopted for storytelling ads. Previous studies have reported that drama-type and vignette-type storytelling methods have a considerably different impact on the emotional responses of advertising audiences, due to their different structural characteristics. Thus, this study aims to verify that emotional response aroused by different types of advertisement storytelling (drama ads vs. vignette ads) can be controlled by the socio-psychological gender difference of advertising audiences and that the interaction effects between the socio-psychological gender differences of the audience and the gender stereotype of emotions to which advertisements appeal can exert an influence on emotional responses to types of storytelling in advertising. To achieve this, an experiment was conducted employing a between-group design consisting of 2 (storytelling type: drama ads vs. vignette ads) × 2 (socio-psychological gender of the audience: masculinity vs. femininity) × 2 (advertising appeal emotion type: male stereotype emotion vs. female stereotype emotion). The experiment revealed that the femininity group displayed a strong and consistent empathy for drama ads regardless of whether the ads appealed to masculine or feminine emotions, whereas the masculinity group displayed a stronger empathy for drama ads appealing to the emotional types matching its own gender as well as for vignette ads. The theoretical contribution of this study is significant in that it sheds light on the controllability of the audiences' emotional responses to advertisement storytelling depending on their socio-psychological gender and gender stereotype of emotions appealed to through advertising. Specifically, its considerable practical contribution consists in easing unnecessary creative constraints by comprehensively analyzing essential advertising strategic factors such as the target consumers' gender and the objective of the advertisement, in contrast to the oversimplified view of previous studies that considered emotional responses to storytelling ads were determined by the different types of production techniques used. This study revealed that emotional response to advertisement storytelling varies depending on the target gender of and emotion type appealed to by the advertisement. This suggests that an understanding of the targeted gender is necessary prior to producing an advertisement and that in deciding on an advertisement storytelling type, strategic attention should be directed to the advertisement's appeal concept or emotion type. Thus, it is safe to use drama-type storytelling that expresses masculine emotions (ex. fun, happy, encouraged) when the advertisement target, like Bacchus, includes both men and women. For brands and advertisements targeting only women (ex. female clothes), it is more effective to use a drama-type storytelling method that expresses feminine emotions (lovely, romantic, sad). The drama method can be still more effective than the vignette when women are the main target and a masculine concept-based creative is to be produced. However, when male consumers are targeted and the brand concept or advertisement concept is focused on feminine emotions (ex. romantic), vignette ads can more effectively induce empathy than drama ads.

장 폴 골티에 작품에 나타난 내적 해체경향 (The Internal Deconstruction Trend Expressed in the Works of Jean Paul Gaultier)

  • This study reviews the concept and characteristics of the deconstruction philosophy in order to analyze the major aspects of the fashion world called the deconstruction fashion based on the deconstruction philosophy, and analyzes the works of Jean Paul Gaultier in terms of Derrida's deconstruction theory. The scope of this research is from 1980 to present, and this study fashion on the many kinds of literature on philosophy, aesthetics and literary criticism, and the domestic and international fashion journals and magazines. The deconstructionism is the philosophical theory which denies the traditionally recognized logocentric metaphysical theory and refuses the closed world and pursues the open world, opposing the dichotomic theory which is the deep-rooted tradition of the Western philosophy. The results of analyses centering on the internal deconstruction trend expressed in the works of Jean Paul Gaultier are as follows. 1 The past style combined with the present appears in the form of the entirely new trace, not the past emotion and meaning in Gaultier's works transcending the time and space. 2 Gaultier presents the unconventional intermeaning of meanings, producing various possibilities according to the wearing method of the wearer by layering several clothes. 3. Gaultier breaks from masculinity and femininity in the intertextuality of gender, and decomposes the fixed idea of men's or ladies'wear through the design sharing bisexual text. 4. In the intertextuality of T.P.O., Gaultier presents the problem of how to wear by mixing different items through obscuring the division of the nature of time, space, and purpose. Especially Gaultier can be called the first designer who, worthy of the father of the deconstructionism, has introduced in the fashion making inner wear like outer wear. 5. In the intertextuality of coordination, Gaultier presents a new perspective of coordination through free combination and contrast, raising a question about the man-made harmony criterion and deconstructing the clothes. On the other hand, Gaultier expresses the intertextuality of the material through the heterogeneous combination of the material. 6. The decomposition trend expressed in the many works of Gaultier reflects an open mind presenting a new perspective through the distortion of the form, exaggeration, and break from the existing construction method. 7. The decentering trend in the works of Gaultier is found to deconstruct the Western-dominated elements against the background of subcultural elements, the elements borrowed from the minority race, md the Oriental culture. 8. The discontinuity clothes of Gaultier present the disordered principle of design without the uniform rules, and express the unrestrained freedom without captivation by the preconceived idea through the disruption of the dress and its ornaments just like Gaultier.

한국청년의 이문화 변화와 커뮤니케이션 관계와의 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Between Cross-Culture Exchange and Communication(Negotiation) of Korean Youth)

  • 시대환경변화에 따라 각국의 젊은이들은 다양한 문화를 습득하기 때문에 공통적인 문화를 형성하며, 타국의 문화를 쉽게 수용할 수 있다. 이에 기존의 선행연구 즉, E. T. Hall(1959)의 고배경문화와 저배경문화 그리고 Hofstede(1991)의 5개 차원(권력거리, 불확실성회피, 개인 또는 집단주의, 남성성 또는 여성성, 장기적지향성)을 기본으로 하여 한국의 젊은 청년들은 이문화변화가 어떻게 형성되고 있는지 그리고 이들 이문화 형성에 따른 협상이 어떻게 진행될 것인지 예측모형을 도출하여 미래의 한국 통상협상 모형을 재정립하고자 하는데 연구의 목적을 두고 있다. 한국인 젊은이는 집단주의 문화권을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 불확실성 회피 성향이 있다는 기존의 선행연구와 일치하는 것으로 분석되었다. 반면 한국인은 장지지향성이 있으며, 권력간격이 매우 높으며, 남성주의가 강할 것이라는 실증분석 결과 반대의 경향이 나타나고 있다. 대체적으로 한국 젊은이의 이문화 변화 유형은 남성주의보다는 여성주의 경향이 강하며, 가부장적이고 권위적인 측면보다는 가정적인 측면으로 변화함에 따라 권력간격이 낮은 유형으로 변모하고 있다. 또한 장기지향적인 성향이 아니며, 즉각적인 어떠한 사안에 즉각적인 반응과 해결하고 하는 유형으로 변화하고 있다.

배우 박중훈의 연기 패턴 분석 및 인물 표현 방식 연구 -영화<내 깡패 같은 애인>에서 동철(박중훈)역 중심으로- (Acting Pattern and Character Expression Methodology of Actor Park Jung Hoon -In-depth analysis of Park's Character, Dong-Chul, in the Movie -)

  • 박중훈은 중앙대학교 연극영화과에 진학 후 바로 영화 현장에 뛰어들어 현재까지 영화계에서 왕성하게 활동하고 있는 명실상부한 국민 배우이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그에 대한 연구는 거의 찾아 볼 수 없는 상황이기 때문에 그의 연기를 이쯤에서 재조명해볼 필요가 있다고 여겼다. 본고에서는 그의 연기에서 독특한 몇 가지 패턴을 찾아내고, 내면적 연기가 가장 잘 되었다고 평가되는 영화 <내 깡패 같은 애인>에서 동철 역을 중심으로 인물 표현 방식의 개략적인 경향을 분석해보았다. 그의 연기 패턴은 크게 박중훈식 코믹연기, 마초적 남성성의 표현연기, 잘 드러내지 않는 내면의 연기로 구분하였고, 영화 <내 깡패 같은 애인>에서 동철 역의 인물 표현 방식은 엉터리 삼류 깡패 역할부터 착한 내면을 지닌 남성으로 변화되는 캐릭터를 완벽하게 소화해 내는 그의 연기 기술을 분석해보았다. 아울러 불가능한 거리감을 가능하게 만드는 그만의 연기 기술도 찾아내 보고자 했다. 본 연구를 시작으로 많은 영화배우들의 다양한 인물 표현 방식 연구와 그들의 훈련법에 대한 지속적인 연구를 하고 싶으며, 이를 통해 많은 배우들의 연기 훈련에 있어서 조금이나마 도움이 되었으면 좋겠다.
