The purpose of this paper is to examine the viability of synthesizing Masan dialect with Seoul dialect and to examine the role of prosody in the authentication of the synthesized Masan dialect. The synthesis was performed by transferring one or more of the prosodic features of the Masan utterance onto the Seoul utterance. The hypothesis is that, given an utterance composed of the phonemes shared by both dialects, as more prosodic features of the Masan utterance are transferred onto the Seoul utterance, the Seoul utterance will be identified as more authentic Masan utterance. The prosodic features involved were the fundamental frequency contour, the segmental durations, and the intensity contour. The synthesized Masan utterances were evaluated by thirteen native speakers of Masan dialect. The result showed that the fundamental frequency contour and the segmental durations had main effects on the perceptual shift from Seoul to Masan dialect.

This study aims at examining the background and development process of Masan city after Koryo Dynasty, making a reconstructive map of Original Masan using the first registration maps made in 1912 and analyzing the urban structure of the Original Masan area. The origin of Masan city went back to Koryo dynasty. Around 1040 Koryo government placed an official shipping facility in Masan to transport the taxed grain to the capital city. After that Masan became an important port covering the southern part of KyungSang-Do. And the urbanization of the Original Masan began to bud after a shipping facility was again established by the Chosun Dynasty in 1760 and strengthened in the 19th century after the social standing system was broken and many peasants moved to cities as daily workers. In 1899 Masan was forced to be opened to foreign powers and they placed an international settlement distanced from the area(Original Masan). After this many Japanese advanced to the international settlement and further to the area. The advancement of Japanese brought a critical change in the urban structure of the area. Land was owned by Japanese and many modern sysytems were introduced such as modern buildings, new roads, railroad and modern factories. According to the reconstructive map of the area, 80.5% of land lots are less than $200m^2$ showing the size of each land lot is comparatively small. And Japanese occupied 31.5% of the land in the area. Their land was located on the stratigic points near the port and the center of commerce. The ratio of the road area to the whole land was around 14%, not so low for urban areas in that time. The reconstructive map reveals the exact coastline of the year 1912 erased now due to filling the sea and extending the land, Present Masan city has been developed having the Original Masan as its nucleus. The area has been always the center of urban activities for Masan city. Making an exact reconstructive map for the area and analyzing the urban structure of the area in 1912 is a very important work to understand Masan city wholy.

Three cases of double primary lung cancer occured synchronously are reported with brief review of literature. The incidence of multiple primary lung cancer relatively rare but may become increasingly prevalent as early detection techinque and cancer therapy has improved. The patients were a 67, 69, and 65-year-old men with doulbe primary lung cancer of different cell type or same cell type with other bronchus origin (squamous cell+small cell, squamous cell+squamous cell, squamous cell+bronchioloaveolar cell) were identified with flexible bronchofiberoscopic biopsies. More careful diagnostic evaluation and management are thought to be necessary.

In order to understand the tide and current around the sea route of Jinhae and Masan passages, tide measurement and 2D numerical model experiments of tidal current and residual flow were carried out. Tide is composed of 84% of semi-diurnal tide, 11% of diurnal tide and 4% of shallow water tide, respectively. Phase lags of the major components for the tide around the study area have little differences. The flows are reversing on the whole, but have rotational form around Jamdo Island, south of Masan passage in spring tide and Ungdo Island, north of Masan passage in middle and neap tide. Current flows the speed of 50 cm/s in the sea areas near small islands, 5 cm/s in Jinhae harbor, Hangam bay and near Jinhae industrial complex and 20-30 cm/s in Jinhae passage, Budo channel and Masan passage. Tide-induced topographical eddies are formed near small islands, but few eddies exist and the flow rate of less than 5 cm/s tidal residual current formed in Jinhae and Masan passages. The flows in Jinhae and Masan passage give a good condition for a passage into Jinhae and Masan harbor.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the viability of simulating one dialect with the speech segments of another dialect through prosody cloning. The hypothesis is that, among Korean regional dialects, it is not the segmental differences but the prosodic differences that play a major role in authentic dialect perception. This work intends to support the hypothesis by simulating Masan dialect with the speech segments from Seoul dialect. The dialect simulation was performed by transplanting the prosodic features of Masan utterances unto the same utterances produced by a Seoul speaker. Thus, the simulated Masan utterances were composed of Seoul speech segments but their prosody came from the original Masan utterances. The prosodic features involved were the fundamental frequency contour, the segmental durations, and the intensity contour. The simulated Masan utterances were evaluated by four native Masan speakers and the role of prosody in dialect authentication and speech synthesis was discussed.

tumors. We report a primary cardiac myxosarcoma in a 40-year-old female patient who was admitted to the hospital because of exertional dyspnea and palpitation. The patient underwent emergency operation immediately after the intracardiac (left atrium) tumor was discovered by an echocardiography. Palliative tumor removal was done and final Pathologic diagnosis was primary cardiac myxosarcoma. She was discharged without complications.

Neurofibroma is a neurogenic tumor arising from schwann cells or peripheral tissues of nerve sheaths. Neurofibroma rarely occurs as a solitary lesion but mostly occurs as part of neurofibromatosis and reports of neurofibromas developed in the nasal cavity or paranasal sinus are very rare. We report on a case of neurofibroma of the nasal cavity treated by endoscopic surgery. Preoperative computed tomography(CT), and punch biopsy suggested that the tumor was benign neurogenic tumor cofined to right nasal cavity. The tumor was removed with endoscopic surgery completely, and confirmed as neurofibroma by histological and immunohistochemical examination. We discuss the clinical and pathological characters of neurofibroma arising in the nasal septum.

Masan port is a representative port of Kyungnam region, and proceeds to work port development for the future. However, Analytical research related to current competitiveness and strategies for the future of Masan port have been little studied since then. Thus, the aim of this paper is to analyze the current competitiveness level of Masan port. To achieve this abjective, evaluation model based on empirical data was established. And then FHP-based index model that calculate competitiveness level of port was adopted. To analysis competitiveness of Masan port, Data from shippers calling at Masan port were collected. The result of data analysis showed that current competitiveness level of Masan port was 63.

Primary endobronchial leiomyosarcoma is extremely rare, which is uncommon of primary endobronchial tumors. We report a primary endobronchial leiomyosarcoma. A 19-year-old male patient was admitted to the hospital ulcerative endobrochial tumor in the origin of left lower lobar bronchus and bronchoscopic biopsy showed a endobronchial leiomyoma. The patient underwent a left lower sleeve lobectomy and final pathologic diagnosis was ㅁ primary endobronchial leiomyosarcoma. After 4 months, follow-up bronchoscopy reveled local recurrence of a endobronchial leiomyosarcoma on a left main bronchus. A left completion pneumonectomy was perfomed and he was discharged without complications.

Masan Port, which is a main entrance to Korea, has undergone the tough time these days. Many problems are mainly due to the deterioration of harbor facilities, the shortage of waterfront area and the decrease of the trading volumes. Especially the trading volumes are seriously affected by the Busan New Port, which was not only very close to the Masan Port but constructed in a large scale. For the Masan Port to develop continuously, therefore, it is vital to modernize harbor facilities, redevelop the old harbor, expand its waterfront, construct green port and develop harbor for sightseeing. At the same time, Masan port should be ready to develop a higher value added port. To vitalize Masan port's economy, we have to push forward a differentiation strategy that makes Masan port specialized harbor for distributing goods like hard and heavy cargo.
