  • Although research on Virtual Reality (VR) has uncovered numerous technical advantages of VR over traditional media, little is known about how individual VR users with varying prior experience respond to VR differently. This paper examines the effect of users' prior VR experience on their subsequent real-life behavior in the domain of charitable consumption. Specifically, we find that compared to experienced VR users, novice VR users are more likely to support a charitable cause in real life (e.g., ocean conservation) after experiencing this cause in VR. The increased support among novice VR users occurs because they perceive the use of VR to be more novel. We find a boundary of this effect such that when VR is used to promote a noncharitable cause, novice VR users no longer increase their real-life support after VR. This research offers new possibilities for future studies on the use of VR in societal marketing.

  • The Marketing strategy is basic to the marketing plan for a firm. It encompasses the art and science of employing the means for achieving established marketing goals. The use of the word "strategy" in reference to the performance of marketing operations has been accepted in general usage during the last twenty years by both business practitioners and educators. It has been borrowed from the military vocabulary where it refers to the art and science of employing the armed strength of a belligerent force to secure the objectives of war. A marketing strategy consists of two distinct and yet interrelated parts: 1. A target market ${\cdots}{\cdots}$a fairly homogeneous group of customers to whom a company wishes to appeal. 2. A marketing mix ${\cdots}{\cdots}$ the controllable variables which the company combines to satisfy this target group.get group.

  • Seeded marketing campaign (SMC) is a newly created type of marketing activities with the widespread use of social media. Previous research has examined to find out the optimal seeding strategy that yields the best outcome from the campaign. This research explores the relationships between the characteristics of the seeded influencer and user engagement. The data consists of information from 1062 seeded Instagram posts posted in September 2020 in Korea and 778 seeded influencers who posted those contents. Analyzed by negative binomial regression, our quadratic model suggests that the relationship between user engagement and the number of followers of the seeded influencer draws an inverted U-shape, indicating influencers with greater number of followers may not always be the best choice for the marketers. Moreover, this research shows that the negative marginal impact coming from the huge number of followers can be attenuated when the influencer is an expert of the seeded product.
